House Burrito with Chorizo

The food was excellent. The restaurant was very homie, and everyone was very nice. I was very comfortable to eat there, and I enjoyed my time here.

Hash skillet and blueberry pancakes

I apologize for having dig into my food before this picture, but the breakfast was really good. The place looks very no frills diner style. But the service was quick and attentive. They remembered my wife had decaf when I had regular coffee. My corned beef hash skillet was delicious and made fresh. I asked if they could do no onions expecting it to be pre-mixed in the hash, and they said they mix every order. The blueberry pancakes were also tasty.

Wow! What a great little diner. Fast and friendly service, only 18 or so tables so coming with a bigger group may be a challenge. Started off with breakfast cocktails because they were advertising it, got a mimosa & Bloody Mary. My husband loved the BM! Said the flavor and spice was great. He ordered a patty melt which came with soup & fries. The soup of the day was chicken tortilla was amazing!! So much flavor and a little kick. He also raved about the patty melt. The bread didn't get soggy & the patty was thick and very juicy. I did a BYO skillet which was a great size! Came with pancakes that were SOO fluffy. Couldn't stop eating them. This is our new favorite spot!!

2x2x2 - French toast, egg, and sausage

Delicious Breakfast Spot! Stopped by Rise and Bite Cafe in Naperville and had a great experience. I ordered the sausage and cheddar scrambler, which came with onion and green pepper--it was flavorful, perfectly cooked, and really hit the spot. My son got the 2x2x2 with eggs, French toast, and sausage, and he enjoyed every bite. The food was fresh, the portions were generous, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. We'll definitely be back!

Chilaquiles with verde sauce

Unassuming location in a strip mall. Looks like they've done a remodel but floor and booths look a little old and worn. Friendly and prompt waitresses. Very yummy freshly squeezed orange juice. The staff was so engaging and awesome I was tempted to do 5 stars. But my boyfriends skillet was under seasoned and not too yummy. My chilaquiles on the other hand were delicious, as were the pancakes... very fluffy and so balanced. So good experience overall, but definitely depends on what you order.

It's a simple hole in the wall cafe in a strip mall that wasn't very crowded during Sunday brunch time. For what it was, the food hit the spot, the waitress was kind, and the place was clean. I kept going back and forth between 4 and 5 stars. Comparing to other local breakfast places, it's a solid 4, but I feel like that would be like taking stars off a McDonald's for not being gourmet enough. It's a great alternative to the other breakfast places just north of there with insane wait times.

Chilaquiles rojos SO YUMMY!!

This is our 2nd time here and once again the service was spectacular. Our waitress was very attentive and Friendly also. We sat in a corner booth area which was perfect for us because we have a very active 1 year old plus diaper bag, car seat etc.. it was spacious and perfect for our size family. The food was very very tasty! I will include pictures in my review so you can see for yourselves. My daughter said her pancake and eggs were so fluffy and delicious ^-^ and her bacon the perfect crispness. My chilaquiles were the perfect amount of mild spiciness. I am glad I chose the red sauce over the green because they were Delicious!! They come with a side of rice and beans that tasted very authentic also. The avocado was the perfect ripeness and so creamy! My husband's house potatoes and biscuits and gravy were also great. He really liked the gravy and asked for a side of it because he likes extra gravy on his biscuits. We also ordered the Nutella crepes and they tasted pretty good. They had a hint of cinnamon in the crepe mix so keep that in mind, next time I think we will ask to exclude it now that we know. Still they were very good We will for sure be back again!

Veggie omelette with house potatoes
Jaime R.

Had a great breakfast with the family! We arrived late morning:early afternoon on a Sunday and were seated right away. The restaurant is fairly small but has plenty of tables and looks like they have the ability to accommodate a larger sized party as needed. I had the veggie omelette that comes with hash browns and toast or pancakes. I swapped the hashbrowns for their breakfast potatoes and chose the pancakes. The omelette was fluffy and had a lot of veggies and the pancakes were slightly thick but still light with a touch of sweetness. The breakfast potatoes had a great flavor! There were a few chunks that were slightly undercooked but good overall. The portion of my meal was quite large with enough for leftovers. The service was great and everyone was so friendly and efficient. We had a great experience overall and will definitely be back to try more!

I don't even know where begin everything was so good. This place was recommended to me by a co worker. Food and service was a 10 out of 10. I tried to taste it before taking a picture and couldn't stop eating it was so good. Steak cooked to perfection. Definitely my new spot. Place is a hidden gem!

The venue is well-staffed by pleasant, friendly, caffeinated staff. So, up to this point, I'd be happy awarding them 5 stars. But, I visited Tasty Biscuit this morning, and noted some things that I wish/hope Management and Corporate would address: 1. Sometime over this Summer, the Counter disappeared! You CAN'T have a Diner without a Counter!! I understand that this building is problematic - but when Quincy's was here, it was just fine. 2. The Staff was maybe a little too brisk for my Saturday 8:30 AM visit. I counted 11 in black t-shirts on the floor (probably more Servers in the back), moving at breakneck speed, although the restaurant was FAR from full. This may or may not be an issue to you. I enjoy a leisurely breakfast: over the past 5 decades, if I'm late for something, it's usually MY fault, and I politely tell my Server: who ensures their service is prompt and accurate. I go "inside" even if there's a drive-in Window. I enjoy chatting with people (hence my preference for Counters ) and try - ALWAYS - to try and make the Server's lives more pleasant and jolly. A little Kindness goes a long way! Not here, though. By the time you see the Server, they're walking away! An incident this morning - I was looking at the News on my iPhone, when I heard a bang on my table. I decoupled from my phone, and there on the Table was my BREAKFAST! I looked around, and there was nobody nearby- not a runner, not my Server. Not a word of greeting or warning or "here's your breakfast, Mr. Valued Customer!" Odd, impersonal, bleak, alarming, unjolly, soulless. and unsettling. It REALLY impacted my experience, dining there. 3. This morning, the food was not hot. It was not COLD either (or I would have raised a fuss), but it was not HOT, either. My butter would not melt on it. With all those people on the floor, and not at a "rush period", THERE IS NO EXCUSE. Not that J'd get one anyway from the Ijet-fueled Servers. 4. In my dotage (as my Usefulness in our "Winning Society" wanes and flickers out) , when I'm presented with the check, I present my Credit Card and my AARP Card. Whether Tasty Biscuit accepts them or not (they don't)!, this is an unobtrusive and (I've been told) POLITE way of giving the Server "all the information they need" without slowing them down. Essential, in this case. "God forbid I consume a nanosecond of their paid time!!! " The AARP card was not: * Acknowledged (Servers on Hi-Test) * Discounted (Tasty Biscuits' Corporate decision; I'm okay with that) Y'know, after mulling over my Experience this morning, I'm forced to re-rate my Review to Three Stars: * 5 stars to begin, based on my previous visits * Minus two stars for my Experience this morning. In the broader context, Tasty Biscuit, there is JUST NO REASON fir me to justify spending $21.93 (with tip) for a Belgian Waffle and an Iced Tea. None whatsoever. My only recourses here are to: * Enact a "No-Tip" policy unless the Service is truly exceptional * Stop visiting Tasty Biscuit altogether * Stop eating out. Period. I dislike the latter two, so only the first remains. It's apparent that the Industry wishes me to accelerate what's already happening: to make room for a younger person who has no traffic with Service, Kindness, and Human Interaction. Home-schooled Gen Z, probably, or rooting for the Fueher. Or both.

My wife and I were nearing the end of our ten day upper Midwest road trip, and needed a place to sleep on Friday night before taking a Saturday flight back to LAX from Chicago. I used Hyatt properties exclusively throughout the trip since I have a nice stash of points to use for free nights. I had reserved a stay at the Hyatt Place in Munster, IN, since it was very close to my wife's relatives who we were meeting that night for dinner. However, a couple of days before, received an email from the Munster Hyatt Place that many of their rooms did not have air conditioning because of the storms that had passed through their area the prior week. So ended up canceling the reservation (Hyatt will return your points if you cancel at least 24 hours before your stay) and decided to book something that was closer to where we were going to pick up my wife's mom the next day. The Hyatt Regency Lisle was the closest and also had the best redemption (at only 6,000 points). I was surprised at the low cost for a Regency, but figured it must be the location. We ended up checking in late, around 10 pm. Since we had to catch our flight the next day, we had to bring all of our luggage and various knick-knacks that we've been purchasing (and dumping into the back seat of our rental car) and bring it all upstairs. There was nobody out in front (which wasn't a big deal), but absolutely no luggage carts anywhere to be found. The lobby was empty, with one lone guy manning the check-in desk. He checked us in, told us we had a room on the 3rd floor. Hyatt sends out surveys after visits, and one of the questions asked if the guest had been recognized as a loyal member of Hyatt. The only times it did not happen during our road trips, was at the two Hyatt Regencies, this one included. Built in 1988 and last renovated in 2012, with 317 rooms and 13 floors. Thus elevators are a must. Well, two of the three elevators were out of service, and from the look of the sign, seemed like for a while. It has enough meeting spaces and ballrooms to host large events. And there was definitely night events happening, with the low price of rooms and it being a Friday night. There was no bottled water offered, so my wife went to the ice maker to get ice to melt down for water the next morning. We also spent a bit of time packing our bags, making sure we didn't hit the 50 lb limit (I had purchased beer to bring home so it was a bit of a challenge, but we made do). The room was definitely an older style, but the room and BR was clean with a shower/tub combo. It was meant to be a place to get in/out for an overnight stay, and figured I had done alright. There is no complementary breakfast at Regencies, so decided to checkout (via the app) and leave by 9am. I should have guessed what would happen...with only one elevator working, and people all trying to get to the lobby to leave, each elevator stopping on the 3rd floor was already full by the time it reached us (since there were 10 floors of people above us). After waiting 10 plus minutes, letting 2 elevators leave without us, was determined to get onto the 3rd one. It was full and a young women said 'Oh no, there is no room'. Yeah, I was a bit of an ass in making space for my wife and our bags (didn't ask..just told the people in front, "No..We are getting on...please make room). People were not happy, with some smartass in the back grumbling..."it's only the 3rd floor...you could have taken the stairs"...lol...pretty sure he didn't have any luggage. Luckily the elevator didn't break down with all the people, and we got out of there as fast as possible as soon as the door opened. Reading reviews, it was clear that the elevator situation has been bad for a while now...should have read Yelp before making the reservation. Lesson learned!

As soon as we walked in, we knew it was going to be a great experience. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor tables available as well as a traditional deli counter. They also have a drive thru! You can choose to order at the counter or be seated with a more traditional restaurant-like service. Our waiter was young but very professional and provided great recommendations. It was a solid 7, which is why I place it at 3.5 stars. I may be being picky here but it just wasn't to the level of "melt-in-your-mouth" pastrami standards for me. Not to say it wasn't good, because it was perfectly fine. In fact, it's better than most of the pastrami sandwiches I tried in Chicagoland. Maybe it's the fact that I had to bring it back to the office to eat it, and half hour had gone by and pastrami weren't as warm and the Jewish rye had become soggy by the time I took the first bite. I mean, it goes without saying that the sandwich would have been 3 times better had I sat down immediately and had it. Again, all things considered, it was a perfectly good sandwich. One interesting thing was that I had never been to an establishment that included a half sour pickle instead of a normal one and gotta say, I was pleasantly surprised. Pickles can be a hit or a miss for me. I like my pickles to be crunch, but some places offer overripened ones that become borderline mushy. Schmaltz's half sour pickle was not overly salty or sour, making it very attractive for me. The more I'm thinking about it, I'm convinced that I'll have to go back and try their #14 Sloppy Paul, which is the corned beef with sauerkraut, which is another favorite of mine. And this time, I'll be sure to dine in and give another review of it to see how much I like them better.

We were seated immediately upon arrival and placed our order shortly after. Our waiter recommended 2-3 tapas per person. A quick tip: if you order a paella, order fewer tapas overall as the rice makes it very filling! The standout tapas were the cold Patatas Con Alioli (the garlic in the potato salad was divine), the Vieiras Albariño (scallops were tender and cooked to perfection), and the Calamares A La Plancha (very clean squid, no strong fishy taste). The Solomillos A La Plancha was a unique take on beef tenderloin, though it was ultimately forgettable and the Pollo Al Limón was sadly overcooked and needed more lemon. While we got seated quickly, the dish delivery was very slow and spread out, stretching our total meal to two hours. By the time our Blanco Y Negro dessert arrived, we didn't bother mentioning our missing Queso De Cabra just because we wanted to wrap things up. Since I'm not much of a drinker and we already had a pitcher of sangria, we would have declined had we known it wasn't complimentary.
