This is a review for a brunch and one dinner. Probably had a better experience at dinner, had some portabello mushroom dish which was actually decent for a huge non vegetarian like myself, i suspect most vegetarians would love it. Brunch was average, except for the comp cinnamon scones which we devoured. I don't recommend ever sitting outside, constantly batting away what seemed like 100s of flies just takes something away from your dining experience and although the faux grass fixtures are probably better than looking straight out at redd road, I'd probably rather just sit inside. I love Ripe. They have a great concept by using fresh, seasonal ingredients. Their menu has popular dishes and their own creations. I have yet to eat anything that isn't delicious. We had lunch here. We had an extraordinary lunch here. We had an extraordinary lunch experience here. First, the menu options were excellent. If you want a light lunch, the menu includes salad, small plates or sandwiches. If you want a more substantial entree, they have that too. I ordered a sandwich with roasted salmon. The Asian flavors on a light french bread exemplified the talent in their kitchen. By contrast, my brother had the chicken with ratatouille. The mediterranean flavors struck an entirely different note but were equally exceptional. Second, the service was prompt, polite and non-intrusive. We had a really great experience Friday night at Ripe. We sat on the patio which was well appropriated with proper shade and decor to hide the parking lot and street. The misters were a nice touch and when they became too much because of a bit of wind the staff quickly turned them off. The inside of the restaurant seems quite welcoming as well but it was a great evening to sit outside. The staff was extremely attentive yet not overbearing. Our server was great, I can't recall his name but he looks like actor Geoffrey Arend (the kid that eats all the shrooms in Super Troopers). He was very helpful when we asked about the menu and when we were having trouble deciding on entrees and dessert he gave perfect recommendations. We started with the calamari tacos and we were very happy with our choice. The calamari was cooked perfectly though I would have been happier with a few more heads instead of rings it was still delicious. There are a lot of great choices on the menu for almost anyone. I had the portobello mushroom rockefeller and it was absolutely amazing. The portion size was perfect and the flavor combination was superb. My husband had the maple glazed pork chop which was cooked perfectly and very delicious. He raved about the green chili creamed corn. I was not a huge fan, as I do not like creamed corn, but the flavors were good. We had the Texas sheet cake for dessert and it was amazing. It was warm and the coconut pecan sauce was the perfect balance. They only have beer, wine and champagne but they still have creative cocktails which surprised me. The beer selection is decent and I know nothing of wine so cannot speak of the value of their selection. Overall this was a great experience and we will return to try more menu items. Just tried Ripe for the first time today at lunch. It was fantastic. I had the best chicken sandwich I've ever had. I opted for the more indulgent fries as a side but they do have a fresh salad option as well. I am visiting on business and will make sure I add this to my list to come back to. We were looking for a nice breakfast place on the West side of El Paso. Ripe is perfect for a breakfast splurge. Excellent menu choices and upscale for this town. We had the omelet with manchego, asparagus and prosciutto, a brunch sandwich with chicken & avocado, and the kids had pancakes & fruit bowls. Everything was awesome! I use to eat here all the time when they barely opened (it was delicious, cheap, and had a pretty unique menu options). It's been more than three years since I moved and, just recently, came back to visit. This new place sucks. It is so pretentious now. They remodeled so that the venue is no longer the happy open space it used to be. Although their location on Redd Road makes it slightly off the beaten path for anyone living on El Paso's East Side, it has quickly become our go to for weekend brunch (Crave previously held this coveted spot but the 45 minute Saturday table wait led to its oust) or for a quiet weeknight meal out. Ripe's diverse menus, whether for weekend brunch, lunch or dinner may spark some internal strife as you try to narrow down your selection. For brunch I typically opt for the "Green Eggs and Ham" Omelet with smoked ham, caramelized onion, roasted green chile and goat cheese ($9.50), while my friends are big fans of the Caprese Benny with fresh mozzarella, roasted tomatoes, basil pesto, soft poached eggs and homemade hollandaise ($11) and the Blueberry-Ricotta Cakes ($8.50). There are a variety of tempting paninis and sandwiches for your main course, but for a heavier entrée I recommend the Pistachio Pesto Pasta with spinach, mint, sautéed veggies and skewered grilled shrimp ($17), Pecan Crusted Salmon with couscous risotto of spinach, artichokes, tomato and pesto ($20) or the vegetarian friendly Curried Coconut Veggie Tagine with coconut brown rice, chickpeas, sweet potatoes, spinach, tomatoes, cauliflower and almonds ($14). Although they lack a full liquor license, Ripe serves 12 beers on tap, another 10 by the bottle and roughly 20 wine selections, as well as refreshing mixed drinks like their Frozen Mango Wine-a-rita, Peach Bellini and Cucumber Mint Wine Spritzer, each for $7. Amazing food and service. I had chili ham burger with goat cheese. By far the best burger I've had in El Paso. Perfectly cooked to medium with yummy buns. Good selection of draft beer which is served in pint mason jars. My wife had the shrimp pesto pasta. It only came with four shrimp, but really enjoyed the dish. We had the soy ginger calamari for a starter. Very good, not your typical breaded calamari. The people next to us had the salmon and steak which looked amazing. Will defiantly go back for those. Ripe catered our wedding a couple months ago, and we got SO MANY COMPLIMENTS on the food. Chef Leann was fabulous to work with and so flexible. We did a pork and chicken dish, and both were delicious but the pork was a crowd favorite. Everyone also loved the Brussels sprouts and the appetizers. My fiancé and I came here for brunch on a Sunday morning from the east side. After reading the reviews on yelp and checking out the menu, we were excited to try it. It was fairly busy when we got there but were seated quickly. I got the two step with extra potatoes instead of black beans. great decision because those potatoes were awesome! I also got a blueberry ricotta pancake on the side and boy was it delicious. My fiancé got the Cajun scramble which he was a fan of and a plain pancake on the side. Recently went to Ripe this past Monday for brunch, it was fantastic. I had the BBQ Salmon sandwich, and my two buddies had the tacos and Risotto, also both great choices. Be sure to ask the waiter for any specials or what he recommends because they change the menu regularly and they might be able to make you something that is not seen on the menu. Good selection of beer available, because what's a good brunch without some drinks. Service was good, and although it is not a huge place and there was even a baby sitting right next to us we could still have our own conversation without being interrupted by other tables. Went to this place for the third time this morning - definitely about time I wrote a review. Blueberry-ricotta pancakes are as good as all the hype says they are. There's a chorizo green chile scramble that's delicious with every bite. Today I tried the caprese benny and it was melt in your mouth good. Service is always good and attentive.
