We stopped in here for lunch and thought it was pretty danged good. The menu selection was typical for authentic Mexican fare. We settled on bean dip, street tacos, rice and beans. We were pretty happy with the portion size, taste, and freshness. Prices were decent as well. The seating space is pretty cramped, as it is a small restaurant (seating for 4 people at most at each table) but we just pulled up a couple more chairs for our party of 6 and made it work. This is a decent place to get Mexican food on your way through North Bend. Just a few minutes off the freeway exit. read more

This place is awesome! We've been grabbing take out from here since we first arrived in North Bend. It is a very small family owned place offering amazing service and solid Mexican cuisine. If you have any doubts as to how much the locals like their food, just drive by around lunch time and you'll see a line out the door! The majority of the seating for this place is actually outside on picnic tables which are packed in summer and actually pretty occupied even in the winter. The inside only has a few tables and chairs lining the small walkway up to the counter where you can place your order. A couple of times we've been here we've chatted with the owner who always speaks to me in Spanish to help me practice, much appreciated for his patience! I don't want to say we come here for their horchata but let's just be honest that it might be a contributing factor. The owner is always so generous and gives us a little horchata refill after we've sipped on it while waiting for our order, just love that thoughtfulness! Our favorites here are definitely the chicken enchiladas with salsa verde which is gluten free and super flavorful. The chips and guac are tasty and usually get added to our order as I'm a well known chip hound. The husband is a big fan of the chicken smothered tacos and usually licks his plate so clean it looks to me as if they may have forgotten his order altogether. This place has certainly become one of our favorite go to places for some quick local eats here in North Bend. read more

We stopped in after a winter hike because the place we were headed was too busy. We were glad we did. This place used to be a small diner, but now it's serves Mexican Food I just spent a month in Mexico, and can say that this is one of the few authentic Mexican food restaurants around here (Wa). We were in a rush and just had the Nachos but were so hungry they were half gone before I could get a photo so picture this: The plate was huge, and plenty for two. Covered with Carne Asada, cheese, onions, cilantro, jalapenos, beans, guacamole and sour cream. The salsas were tasty and spiced well. The staff was friendly. They don't have a lot of inside seating, but fortunately we got the last little table because it was 25 deg outside. The only downside is that it sits on a busy road. Nothing fancy, but totally worth a try if you like good Mexican Food. It appears to be popular among the locals as there was a steady stream. You order at the counter, and they bring the food to you. I love the small town feel of North Bend and the independent restaurants that call this city home. Rio Bravo is a perfect example! This family-run establishment may appear a bit rundown, but its brightly-colored tables and exterior truly liven up the block. Thanks to Yelp, the four of us stopped by for their taco plates after hiking nearby Twin Falls. The restaurant is small inside with just a few tables, so we grabbed a seat outside after ordering at the counter. Their menu offers Mexican staples like tacos, enchiladas and burritos with your choice of meat. They also have "smothered tacos" which are covered in their red or green sauce. These intrigued me, but my mind was already set on a traditional taco plate which included three tacos and sides of Spanish rice and pinto beans. For a variety, I ordered one chorizo, chicken and al pastor, which were all equally priced. (Lengua, fish and steak would have been extra, although not by much) My favorite of the three was the al pastor - seasoned succulent pork with cubes of grilled pineapple. The pineapple was perfectly sweet, had some caramelization and melded well with the savory pork. The chicken taco was also delicious as the meat was ever so tender. My least favorite was the chorizo. I'm usually all for bold flavors, but my palate was completely overwhelmed by the amount of spice mixed into the sausage. All the tacos came topped with crisp white onions and cilantro for added freshness. They also included cups of red, orange and green salsas which were all delicious and had varying grades of heat. The tacos stood well on their own, but a drizzle of the salsas definitely elevated them. Unfortunately, the only thing was that the beans were pretty wet and soaked into my tortillas, making them soggy. Perhaps if they used two tortillas per taco, it could have improved the durability, but I still managed to eat them without them falling apart. Service was terrific and we could clearly see how much work this family dedicates to their business. The owner was working at a table at the time we ordered and sincerely thanked us for coming in. Even their young daughter (I assume) seemed to enjoy helping out where she could by waving hello to customers and coming outside with her mom to deliver food. On top of all this, their food is a wonderful value too! All four of our taco plates came to about $37 and completely filled us up; we couldn't ask for more. A stop at Rio Bravo is a definite must when in North Bend! 4.75 stars. read more

I stopped by the beautiful Snoqualmie falls and needed a snack afterwards. Choosing the Rio Bravo over the burger joint next door, I was excited to sit down in their little dining room and eat my chicken taquitos. Unfortunately my chicken was bland, overcooked, and I left unsatisfied. (My other friends eating with me did not enjoy their lacking chicken tacos and chicken burrito) I am giving them a 2 star because the Horchata was pretty good. Service was interesting, seems like they employ a younger group of people. They were friendly but forgetful at times. I ordered horchata but was not served it until I asked again. I do love small places to eat at, but I wasn't very happy leaving the Rio Bravo. read more

Stopped here to grab some tacos after a hike. We literally got one of each. The Chorizo was by far the best. Full of flavor and just a little heat that was complimented nicely by the lime and onions. The Lengua was my second favorite. Extremely tender and juicy, it paired really well with the spicy salsa that cut through the richness. The Carne Asada and Al Pastor tacos were both okay. Not bad but nothing great about them either. Pretty run of the mill. The Veggie and Fish(Mahi Mahi) taco were both meh. Soggy and lacked flavor and really need a lot of salsa and lime to down them. Wouldn't recommend these. The Chicken Quesadilla was not bad but again not spectacular. The rice and beans was a nice change from the standard refried beans. Personally I liked the pinto beans (with a lot of salsa added) but not everyone enjoyed them as much. Overall the portions are generous and the tacos stuffed, there are some goods and some mehs so choose accordingly. The salsas are all really nice and their spicy has a serious kick to it which I loved. All in all, not a bad taco spot but not one I'd drive all the way for. read more

We visited on "Tamale Tuesday" and got three different tamales. Pork and green chilies, Mole Chicken, and roasted chilies and cheese. All these were spectacular, and the salsas, rice and beans were also fantastic. Had Rio Bravo in North Bend cater our event for 70+ guests this past weekend. They were amazing! I worked with Diego Lira and he lined up our catering choices and made sure we were taken care of. Was extremely responsive and on time. They even provided chaffing dishes and provided the food in the huge container to keep everything warm. This has quickly become a favorite of ours. We originally found Rio Bravo on Yelp with high ratings and gave it a try! We don't live nearby, but it's a must stop for us when we are in the area. We've driven by this place so many times & this time we saw there were people sitting in their nice outdoor patio eating breakfast- had no idea they served breakfast. We went inside to order & were happy to see they had quite a few choices for breakfast. I asked what they recommend & an older gentleman said the breakfast burrito & the huevos rancheros so we got both to share. They offer choices of meat so we got chorizo with the burrito & carna asada with the huevos rancheros. The burrito was delicious with the chorizo, egg, rice & beans & their mild salsa on the side. The huevos rancheros was really good too other than the carna asada being pretty chewy for my liking. We got their medium salsa with it which was really spicy which my husband loved. Overall it was a really good experience-friendly prompt service, nice outdoor seating & good food at reasonable prices. The tacos & quesadillas look good too so we'll be back to try them. read more

Fantastic tacos! A little different for the tortilla on the tacos compared to the taco truck ones (where they traditionally have two small tortillas stacked) but they are bigger here and just as delicious. The meats are really tasty, got the al pastor, chorizo and carne asada. The al pastor and chorizo were the highlights! I was surprised at the positive reviews for this place after eating there. Although the location is great the food was not good. The mole enchiladas were luke warm, the sauce had the texture and taste of a melted yankee candle. The rice was like some uncle Ben's microwave Spanish rice with some dry green onion slices on top for garnish. The salsa looked and tasted like it was from a can. The chicken meat in the enchiladas was grey and flavorless. My friend had a carne asada burrito and the beef looked like it was boiled. Carne Asada needs to be seared on a flat top grill so it has some color. We also had nachos which were ok. It's hard to screw up nachos too badly but they tried. The canned, black olive slices tasted like the can they'd been sitting in for three weeks, the pinto beans were devoid of any flavor, and the guacamole although generous seemed like Costco guacamole. I love Costco but their guacamole is a little bland. More lime, salt, and cilantro. We went to Rio Bravo post hike expecting a great meal but were laughably disappointed. The place was full of people and the staff were friendly but man, they really need to work on the food. There is some really great Mexican food in the NW but unfortunately not yet in North Bend. read more

This was a fun hole in the wall Mexican restaurant that we found in between hikes. For the coronavirus, they had everyone order inside keeping 6 feet apart. You would then wait by your car for them to bring it to you. My hubby was over the moon in love with the breakfast burrito that he got with bacon. I tried it, and indeed it was delicious. I like to pretend to be healthy sometimes and got the taco salad with chicken and green sauce. They were really generous with the guacamole and the chicken had a really yummy flavor with a bit of a kick to it. It's more like shredded chicken rather than fajita. Service wasn't crazy fast but there seemed to be a ton of people there (socially distanced) and it was a beautiful day so we didn't mind the wait. Next time, I'm getting the nachos. read more

I got the fish burrito. Overall it was solid -- more so when doused in salsa. I would have liked the dish seasoned a bit more and a bit more present in the mix, but it was good -- and MUCH better a meal option than most places in that area (at least touristy blandness downtown). Bottom line: North Bend is much more highly ranked on its food than it should be, but you can get a solid burrito here for a fairly reasonable price -- a few bucks more than Chipotle. Worth a stop? Nah, more just a better option than others when forced to eat in North Bend's downtown. read more

On charm alone, these guys will probably land a special place in your hearts. I mean, it's a small town with a teeny little spot, a nice patio, funky paint job, and a menu of basic Mexican food. I found it on the Yelp app, and never would have known of it otherwise. I made my way in on a rainy day and cleared away a small two-top after ordering. Space is cramped and I sat to wait for my food. The wait wasn't long for two chicken enchiladas (with both red and green sauces) and I was famished from a day of driving, so I inhaled the rice, beans, and both enchiladas. The shredded chicken was seasoned okay, but unfortunately was pretty dry. Parts of it were overcooked, but I didn't let that stop me from finished my food. The service was so dear and patient. They were busy for an off-time on a weekday, and they were hustling to get food out but still welcomed me with a smile. I appreciated the big jug of water and larger water cups, and I took advantage by guzzling down several glasses. I think I spent like $12-13 or so, just under $15 with tip. That's way beyond fast food prices, but this isn't regular fast food. Come for the charm, grab some A-OK food. read more

We saw the great reviews and had to stop in, my friend ordered 3 sopes and couldn't decide what kind so they suggested she get one of each: chorizo, carne, and pastor. I had to copy! Orders came with red and green sauce, and we were able to eat there (outdoor tables)! Food came quick, and it was so good (even in WA lol).
