This place popped up on my radar last summer and I have been back and forth if I wanted to check it out. Overall, reviews are positive, but the negative reviews are telling. People speak about bland food and just general disappointment. My concern being a Mexican food lover is I have never heard anyone mention this place, which just lead me to believe it's a solid local spot, but not a destination location. No one appears like the ground beef. No many Mexican places even do ground beef anymore, but guess what, ground beef is my favorite, but based on reviews it should be avoided here, so I did so. I went with Carnitas and can tell you it wasn't the worst, but I had had much better. I like a juicy burrito. Yes, they get messy to hold, but worst-case scenario, you get a knife and fork and dig in. You may ask what a juicy burrito is and I'll explain. It's a burrito with either the juice of bean broth, or very moist rice or meat. Unfortunately, nothing here was moist. Also, the burrito had lettuce in it. That's nota burrito, it's a soft taco. A burrito is protein, beans, rice, cheese, sour cream and guacamole. In this case sour cream and guacamole was extra. The people here were friendly, the pricing was fair and the portion was reasonable, I just didn't find the food satisfying. This place is better than fast food and the average truck, but I'm sure every major city in America serves a burrito better than this. I encountered several people working here that struggled with English, which tells me they have to be deep in the culture, but these are not the recipes of true southern Mexicans. I wouldn't tell you to avoid this place, but I also can't recommend them. We drove 30 miles to get here and it was anything but worth the drive. read more

Used to be great but now the burritos are 80% rice, and they really cut back on salsa and asada quality. Too bad.

Went there for lunch and ordered red pozole, which had a lot of hominy, which i liked. It was very mild, could have used spicing up. The pork was in big chunks, hard to cut in a soup bowl. Husband had green enchiladas with chicken and loved them! Rice bland but beans tasty. The people there are very nice and we got good service. Excellent! I had the best Mole Chicken enchiladas ever and (the mole sauce was what did it) my husband said that all burritos should taste like the one he had! Also he said was the best burrito he has ever eaten. The chips were also extremely fresh and a good salsa that had great flavor without heat, as I can't handle spicy! Service was friendly and quick. Incredibly fresh, tasty Carnitas - both in Tacos and Enchiladas. Absolutely no extraneous fat, just delicious, tender, juicy pork. The Pastor Burrito was huge and included lettuce and tomatoes- which was a pleasant surprise. Loved both the Red & Green sauce. Green had a little kick, but just the right amount. I ordered the three taco plate and had one al pastor, one chorizo, and one birria taco. Pineapple on a pork taco was a first for me and won't be a last! Nachos were fantastic and filling for 2 people! In fact 4 of us shared them. The bar is actually outside and that was really cool and unique. You order your food inside but it would be hard to eat inside because the area is quite small. We ate outside on this hot sunny day and thoroughly enjoyed our cold beer. Chilaquiles we're ok. Not how I have had them before. I thought the cut up tortillas were supposed to be soggy with scrambled eggs and oil. But these were more like nachos with some hard chips and some soggy ones. It was odd but not bad tasting. They were topped with crema and queso. The stuffed jalapeños were excellent and the biggest I've ever seen! They came out hot and wrapped in sizzling bacon. Updated review. On a recent visit was surprised to see a weekend-only roast Pork special. I did not hesitate ordering it, which is a statement given my burrito dependence. Impressive dish. Tender from being perfectly cooked. Nicely spiced . Served with a side of excellent Pico De Gallo (no cilantro, thank goodness), two grilled jalapeños (not tame), corn tortillas and a trio of salsas. Thoroughly happy with the experience. So much, I did not have a longing for burritos on my mind. Over the last years, Bravo has clearly become more popular. Pretty good food. Carne asada burrito was big and flavorful. Pastor tacos were good but I did think it was weird that the pineapples were fresh, not cooked. Usually al pastor will have the pineapples cooked with the meat. The regular taco meat tacos, sadly, weren't very good. We brought them home then they got thrown away. A nice dog-friendly outdoor seating area, and a friendly staff, make this restaurant appealing. The food is much like what you'd expect from a food truck (I suspect that they formerly were a food truck, but don't know). We had tacos: a taco plate (3 tacos with rice and beans) and 3 à la carte tacos -- we tried carnitas, fish, and carne asada -- each of which had a tack-on additional price (75₵ for carnitas 99₵ for fish and carne asada). I guess that chicken is standard, and these others aren't. The sauces were good (different spice levels and flavors), and the tacos came on soft corn tortillas. The carne asada and carnitas both had some flavor, but not as much as you'd expect. The fish, described as mahi-mahi, was a white fish, and it was cooked without being deep fried (which is good), and came with a white sauce (pretty standard). Each taco had cilantro, onions, and lots of shredded iceberg lettuce. I would describe the food as adequate, but unfortunately somewhat uninspired, not being particularly flavorful and with the iceberg lettuce actually detracting from the quality. So, there's nothing wrong with their food, but it's not so good that I long to go back. read more

Came to this place by recommendation from a friend and it was so worth it! It's a small spot by the road and we hit it coming back from a morning hike at Rattlesnake, so we were plenty tired out and ready to munch. I got the Taco Salad with Chicken, which was delicious, but I forgot to ask them to take the olives out so I had to pick them out separately lol. The Taco Plate that the boyfriend ordered was also solid -- Keep in mind that you can choose different types of meat for each one and don't have to keep them to one option! Little restaurant in North Bend. Decided to try them out based on reviews. Very tight squeeze to get in and order as it's busy. Had to sit outside to wait for our food and finally got lucky and had one of the few tables inside open up. Food was absolutely amazing. I am a big Mexican food fan and travel to Mexico often so I am familiar with authentic food. Can't say enough good things. My daughter had nachos which was huge and full of toppings. A buddy and I stopped by this cool retro-aura New Mexican spot to get a bit of takeout on our way to backpacking up to Melakwa Lake. The man at the counter showed off the daily special, which was a delectable-looking carnitas pork knuckle. Alas, we couldn't get that to go for the trail, so we had to settle for a couple of burritos. It's a good thing we're not ultralight backpackers (yet), because those burritos alone added a solid few pounds to our packs. I got a carnitas burrito with medium salsa as a nod to the sadly left-behind daily special and my hiking companion grabbed a vegetarian with extra hot. Service was fast, friendly, and about five minutes or so. Both football-sized burritos kept well after a couple of hours on the trail and definitely hit the spot after the steady ascent up to the lake, washed down with a bit of cool, filtered alpine water. I had the tamales rice and beans. The tamales were okay the meat was not shredded enough it was a lot of huge chunks of pork the green sauce had a good flavor very authentic. The red salsa was awesome. The beans were flavorful and perfectly cooked. The rice was cold not even room temperature cold like straight out of the fridge. The house margarita was okay it was sweet but tasted very watery tasted like it had almost no alcohol in it. There menus are kinda hard to see posted up high on the wall. They have one laminated menu at the register. I do wish they had a few copies of the menu this would have made ordering here easier. The staff was super friendly and inviting.
