This is honestly my favorite Mexican food outside of Mexico. They did start charging for salsa, however they warned of the change for months in advance. I've seen lots of people commenting on how "unfair" that is, but seriously, get over it. As they explained (both on the menu and personally), the new cost is directly related to the price increase of raw materials. They make their salsa by hand with fresh ingredients (from jungle Jim's, if I remember correctly) and the taste shows it. If you aren't willing to pay for the salsa, I personally think you are missing out, but that's no reason to bash their establishment. Rincon USED TO BE our favorite Mexican restaurant around. The food was amazing and they would often have live music. Tony is an incredible server with the best laugh so I would say service is pretty decent if you get the right one. Something happened though. I don't know if it's a new owner or what, but they took away the live music... it's almost quiet now. They started charging for chips/salsa and upped the prices quite a bit. What was once a place where you had to wait to be seated, but didn't care cause it's worth it, is now a place of the past for my family and friends (and others too as it seems). Waited 10 more minutes. One of us went to the bar to get his own drink. Finally asked a server to get our drinks. 35 minutes in we placed an order. 55 minutes AFTER that our food came. 3 of the 4 meals were not even hot, not even warm. If you're looking for an authentic Mexican restaurant with delicious food then you've come to the right place! Rincon is the farthest you can get from your typical Mexican chain restaurant. The facility is kept very clean and is very authentic looking. Being family owned gives it that atmosphere that you can't get from your typical Mexican restaurant. The service is great and the staff is authentic and are fluent in English, which is nice :) You can't go wrong with almost anything on the menu. I order the Chicken Chimichanga almost every visit and its amazing; it is served with spanish rice, refried beans, and lettuce and guacamole to top it off. Many of their traditional Mexican dishes are great as well. Every meal comes with a basket of fresh chips and their homemade salsa which is also always very fresh. I'd definitely suggest getting the queso dip to share before the meal, it's delicious! We go back probably about once every two weeks at least! It's definitely THE best Mexican restaurant around! Today we ordered togo. We had an issue with every item. We called into the restaurant. The person that answered the phone said the manager was at a wedding, and nobody could help us with our issues. I can understand THE manager is gone, but nobody was in charge? I guess that explains the issues The online menu and what they offer evidently do not match? That is their fault not ours. The two kids quesadillas got rice instead of beans. The the two fajita meals didn't have the small salad with lettuce, cheese, sour cream etc. The salad you get at EVERY Mexican place like this. The fajitas were cold. They were under cooked as well. The carnitas meal was pork mixed with beans in a styrofoam container. It looked awful. They also left the salad off of that. Guac. My wife had enchiladas Supremas that had to be sent right back because they were cold in the middle. My daughter had Pollo a la Parrilla and she enjoyed it very much. My family and I had gone to jungle Jims and we saw this place and thought we would give it a try. The place is clean and very well taken care of. The menu had some good choices on it but did not seem to have the many options other Mexican places have. I'm sure it's a Quality over quantity kind of thing. The chips and salsa were very good. I was pretty disappointed with my first visit at Rincon Mexicano. We moved to the area this past summer and have yet to find a good Mexican restaurant near by. We decided to give Rincon a try, as it had pretty good reviews, so I really expected it to be A LOT better! Upon arriving, I was really impressed with the authentic looking décor and friendly staff. With such beautiful atmosphere, I was really looking forward to an authentic fresh meal! Unfortunately, our food was below par in flavor and quality. Our decided to get the queso dip with chorizo, since the regular queso dip was the same price at a whopping $6.25! Pretty overpriced, since most Mexican places only charge $2-$3 for queso dip! My husband ordered a combination plate with a burrito and enchilada, which were both filled with flavorless, dry ground beef. I ordered the chicken fajitas, which were also quite dry and bland, and were made with poor quality dark meat chicken. I usually don't mind thigh or drumstick chicken meat, but I feel with fajitas it must be good quality tender chicken breasts. Our sides of beans and rice, were similarly bland and dry. Overall, I think my husband and I both enjoyed the chips and salsa best, which were average at best. I think that the poor quality and bland flavor of our food may have been somewhat forgivable, if the prices were very low, but honestly, they were on the average to high side! I think it is safe to say that we will not be returning back to Rincon Mexicano. It really is such a shame, that the best Mexican food in the Eastgate area is from Chipotle! read more

When we walked in the other night we were greeted with a hand written sign taped to the wall outside the door. It was a threat from the owner to any smokers who put their cigarettes out on the side of the building that if he caught them, they would "end up in the ER". Threatening bodily harm to your customers is not a very welcoming way to greet them. That kind of set the mood for our meal. The decor is nice and the menu has a few more options than most places. It had been a while since we had last visited and I noticed that quite a few things were missing from the menu as well (like veggie fajitas). The pricing is a little high compared to similar places and the portion size is rather small. If you want more chips than the first basket that they bring, you will have to pay for those as well. They do offer a discount if you pay with cash, which is a nice way to save the customer and the restaurant some money. Overall, it's not my favorite place and seems to be changing for the worse every time I visit. read more

It was a little undercooked for my liking (I enjoy a crispy quesadilla).. I think the water from the shredded lettuce/tomato/sour cream may have added to the softness of the tortilla (the underside was almost mushy). No worries though, it was edible and I still enjoyed it. Anyone who knows me knows I am not a picky eater and will eat just about anything and from any country at that. Rincon Mexicano, in my opinion, is one of the best Mexican restaurants on the east side of Cincinnati. Any time that I've ever been here. I have not been disappointed. I will admit that prefer to eat at El Rancho Grande in Sharonville or El Rio Grande in Newport but Rincon Mexicano is a suitable option for Mexican cuisine on the east side of the Cincinnati Metro. Usually when I visit I get the Chile Colorado which is decent, but you can't go wrong with the Chimichanga. Pretty much anything they have is decent with friendly wait staff to boot as well. The location is convenient, located right in the new Jungle Jim's complex. Stop by and try it sometime! read more

I was most impressed by Rincon Mexicano because of the authenticity of their red chili sauce. So many of the standardized Mexican restaurants tone their chili sauce down, and by tone down I mean water down so it tastes like , and maybe is, the taco bell canned stuff. This sauce was primarily mild red chili powder, a nice stock and a few other spices. It wasn't hot at all, yet had that intense chili flavor, and none of the bitterness often found in that style sauce. The service was excellent, the prices reasonable, and the food was terrific. I had the Mexican Flag, which was a burrito stuffed with jalapenos, steak, cheese, and covered with 1/2 red sauce and 1/2 green (the Mexican Flag). It was very good. The other surprise was the tamale we ordered on the side. IT was just the right blend of corn and meat, a nice size and smothered in that wonderful chili sauce mentioned earlier. We had to ask for it, they don't have ala carte choices on the menu, and Tamales only appear in combos. They're missing a bet not offering a tamale dinner. read more

There are not many things I am a fan of in Beechmont. This restaurant, however is delightful. First, the chips and salsa are addictive and delicious. And secondly, they have the best fajitas. The price for the combo of chicken and steak are the exact same price as if you would order one or the other. Also, the service is exceptional. First off, I almost always need 5-6 fajitas, and need more tortillas. They gave me 3 small ones, and those are all I used. Hardly any meat for the price. The veggies were either under or over done. And my extras were supposed to come with guac, and it didn't. But trying my friends I wasn't missing anything. It tasted like a ground up avocado, again no seasoning. Same with the meat. Rincon has been around forever but the food could be better with how much time it's had. Rincon Mexicano is a standard tex mex restaurant sitting just outside Danbarry Theaters in Eastgate. Sitting down, the feel is nice and the chips and salsa are pretty good. Browsing the menu you find all the things you would expect to find. The meals have really large portions and plenty of variety, but none of it is really outstanding. For this immediate part of town, though, you won't find much else in a similar vein, so Rincon is at least worth trying. read more

The waiters are dressed well and we'll groomed. You can tell that someone really cares about keeping things looking clean and tidy. How many times do you find a Mexican restaurant that has an American Culinary Federation Award of Excellence? In fact, you don't see that many restaurants that have this distinction period. While most of the food is typical Tex-Mex, they have a few items, including a mole that are more traditional Mexican. I was really craving a steak that night so I gave in and ordered fajitas but they were kind enough to bring me a small tasting of their mole sauce and it was as good as it gets and not like the 'Americanized' mole everywhere else.
