I did a half day and then a full day with Rim Tours. They are a fantastic company. They went out of their way to make sure everyone in our group was taken care of, got us on the right trails for our ability level, and the bikes were new and in great condition. If you want to bike in Moab, they will try their best to make sure you have a great experience. Wandering into the backcountry without a clue is not a good idea in Moab, as evidenced by the many clueless people who asked our guide for directions and help on the trail. Get a Rim Tours guide and you will have no regrets. read more

Very disappointing. My wife and I chose a moderate trail and five minutes into riding my bike broke. We returned to the shop and I was given a new bike but because of the time it was recommended we take a trail the was "over our heads" using the guide's words. We did ride for the rest of the morning but my wife fell several times due the difficulty of the trail. The most disappointing thing was the next day Rim Tours charged us $85 for a broken part. Our guide said we did nothing wrong but the owner claimed I shifted at the wrong time and caused the part to brreak, but this does happen "every so often". I was not riding aggressively and if it is not uncommon for the part to break why were we charged? Would other bike places charge for a part that breaks every so often when riding at a normal speed? The owner seems more concerned about reducing costs than customer service. Upon returning home we told several very experienced bikers about the situation and everyone said that Rim Tours should not have charged for that part as it is part of running a bike service. I recommend using a different tour operator. There are plenty to choose from. read more

My Moab mountain biking experience would not be memorable without RIM TOURS... During the planning stage of my vacation, I search the Internet for a mountain biking guide and a bike rental. I read the reviews of RIM TOURS, most of the reviews are positive and really high rated. At first I doubted it, because I am not a believer in reviews, especially done in social media. But I was wrong, this company is SUPERB and always caters to the needs of its customers especially me an avid mountain biker intermediate skill, hence it is an honor for me to write my first ever review for a company that I am extremely satisfied. Here are some specifics: When you call for booking it's gonna be either Maria or Franklin at the end of the line who will provide you with all the options as to what trails you will enjoy. Of course it will be based on your skills as a rider. On the day of the ride, our guides met us promptly at a designated area. I was with 5 other friends who are relatively new to mountain biking. RIM TOURS did bring us to a trail system that caters to beginners at the same time enjoyable enough for me as an intermediate rider. Their bikes are high end full suspension well maintained for a fair price considering you are with awesome, friendly, experienced guide who knows all about mountain biking. My first day, since we are a big group, I was with Michael and Bill. My group was with Bill. He is a skilled and experienced rider, he definitely give us good lines to approach technical sections and offer some pointers to improve our riding skills. Bill offered an extra "rock climbing" to view a scenic spot in the area. He also put extra miles for us to ride. Water bottles and some snacks are provided. Helmets are provided, but I did bring my own helmet. They have tools also to change pedals, I did bring my clip less. Since we have a blast on our first day and we enjoyed it so much, my group decided to book for another ride in different trail, a kind of more technical trail. This time we were with Brooks, a 67 year old guide, again a 67 year old guide! He is the coolest guide I met. With him, my perspective change.... Mountain biking transcends with age. Age is just numbers. At his age, by the way I am 42 and he is 67, he is fast, really fast... he can do jumps, drops, track stand, bunny hop. Most 67 years old in our country give up life already. But with Brooks, he gave us one lesson in life. Enjoy life! And always do the things that you are passionate about..... thank you RIM TOURS for everything.... especially for giving us a memorable mountain biking in Moab. This experience by far leaves a permament mark in my heart. DEFINITELY I will recommend RIM TOURS to any mountain bikers in Houston, or to all mountain bikers in the country, or any of my friends who wants to enjoy the trails of Moab. read more

I took a Bartlett Wash trip with them which included a trip to Tusher tunnell and some lesser-known slickrock near Bartlett. Fred was awesome, set up a great dynamic for our group, and was a true legit "guide"... he actually knows what he's talking about and made everyone feel really comfortable. I chose Rim Tours because I was going solo to Moab, and wanted some basic guidance on trails, and a buddy for a 4 day adventure. Rim Tours went over the top IMO, the Guides were simply awesome, and beyond expectations. Brian, Jenna, Carl, and Bill were just fun and excellent company. I had a last minute add on of a friend, and they accommodated with no issues. The gear supplied was very good, and worked out great. Great ride, am a begginner but felt like an expert by the end

First visit to Moab and first mountain biking excursion. The bikes were awesome, brand new even. The guide picks you up and transports you and the bikes to your destination. Our guide Brooks was great - friendly, informative and super helpful. Willing to spot me through tough spots where I might have fallen otherwise. Even took the time to take my boyfriend on an extended slickrock area so he could see what that was like. We'll definitely schedule another ride next time we're in town. read more

This review is for the Sunrise Downhill Tour OK, I would really give it 4.5 stars, but whatever. The half point missing is bc you get needlessly picked up at 5:30 AM so they can give you a breakfast that you could just as easily have taken care of with a box of granola bars - not to mention the grief you deal with getting your family up to be ready in time...Honestly, Rim Tours, keep the money, let us sleep another 45 mins... Now that that's out of my system....WHAT AN AWESOME TIME!!!! We were City Slickers 3, if ever there was. Our teenage kids had little actual biking experience bc of where we live, but the guys - Mike and Colin were RIDICULOUSLY patient. Once the family realized we were in good hands and weren't going to die, everyone got into it, and even if the kids Rode the Brakes for much of it, they still loved it (when teenagers say things like That Was AMAZING, out loud, you tend to notice). The bikes were first rate, 21 gear, basically brand new - Rim Tours buys new bikes at the start of each season. Oh, and did I mention the SCENERY????? Just jaw-dropping vistas of canyons and wind-carved buttes. A couple of inclines, but this really is all downhill. Almost all on easy packed gravel roads. Colin was on Point and Mike in follow-van. We stopped a lot bc of our group's inexperience, but Mike kept his distance so we could enjoy nature, but he was always in easy range with water and Cliff Bars, and perfectly positioned to take Mom and her bike when the day's heat got a little too much for her. Just finish 5 days on the Maze in Canyon-Lands. Great trip, plenty of riding and Hiking. Food was great, camping sites had great views and full days. Guides (Mike and Reid) were great, every question we had one, or the other knew the answer. I wish I could say the hike was the only downer but I'm not much for climbing down rock faces, I'm a bit scare of heights, but it pushed me to do something that I wouldn't normally done. read more

We booked a day ride with Rim Tours for a family of six. We were skeptical that they would be able to accommodate the varying experience levels we have in the family. They put that to rest immediately, Melissa and Karl showed up prepared for us. Top of the line bikes and components and great attitudes. They were patient, understanding, and truly outstanding in teaching our group. Karl took our son on a short private detour to help him figure out his shifting and terrain navigation while melissa stayed with the rest of us and taught us a ton about navigating varying terrain and building our confidence. We have done several different trips this week like rafting and rock climbing, everything was fun, but our day with Melissa and Karl has turned out to be the consensus favorite for us. I'd never been mountain biking. My emotions moved from trepidation, then tearing up from fright, to a biker's high and exhilaration at the conclusion of the ride! Our guides Julie and Brooks started by familiarizing our group of 6, with varying mb experience and never Moab, to the features of the $4000 bikes, technique, and terrain/trails we'd hit. Just after we hit the trail the terrain made me want to quit and return to the parking lot. Instead our guides offered to split the newbies from the closer- to-intermediate riders. Julie coached me to success! I cannot be more grateful to her! We took our time, chose a different trail, and worked on my skills. Julie was so patient, encouraging, supportive, that I was soon riding up/down rocks with joy from the unique challenges. Her enthusiasm for the sport was contagious. Without Julie I would have had memories of walking away from mb, instead I have tales of success and thrills! Just wanted to say thanks for a great ride. Our guide did a nice job of setting a good pace and making sure we had what we needed. I would definitely recommend your company to anyone looking for a supported ride - it was really relaxing to just show up and ride. If you're looking to rent a bike while in Moab, this is the place. I had gone to a couple shops looking for some pointers and wish that I had stopped here first. Not completely knowing what I was getting into, I wasn't sure what to exactly expect. As I walked in, I felt right at home. I was greeted almost immediately and had the bike in my hands 15 minutes later. The best part about the experience was all the help that they offered. While I was renting a whip, my friends had their bikes with them. They checked out everybody's bike before leaving (tires, brakes, gears, chain) and made sure everything was in good shape. One shifter was not really working (we didn't know) and she fixed it without question. Had a great day rate on a bike and was off and kickin up dust! We did the Dead Horse Point 1/2 Mountain Bike tour with Bill & Reed. We had an excellent time, the guides were friendly and knowledgable, the bikes were in fabulous condition, the ride was just the right bit of challenge vs. scenery vs. easy. I want to give a big shout out to Rim Tours and my guide Jenna when I was mountain biking on my birthday in Moab last week. Best gift ever! She was very patient, knew the trails and Moab, and was an excellent mountain bike guide. She did a great job of recommending a ride that was perfect for my abilities out at Bar M, and even helped me ride some of SlickRock. She had great stories to share and gave me a lot of encouragement and technical help with my riding. Also, the Rim Tours bikes were in great shape and really sweet to ride. I've never been on a dual-suspended mountain bike before, but I'm hooked! They can take any terrain you throw at them and were really light. Booked them for a guided bike ride. I have heard so much about the slickrock that I was adamant about riding on that trail. But given that I am not an experienced biker they recommended (scared me into) going for Klondike Bluffs instead. And I am glad I did. It was a tough ride for me. Our half day bike tour was the greatest part of our Moab experience (although in Moab, it is difficult to chose just one!). Julie was exactly the type of person I was looking for. I wanted someone who would push us in mountain biking and teach us some tips and tricks to take back with us. It was an extra perk as females to have a female guide who could connect with us in a different way than I think a male guide could (no offense to the men out there!).
