If you're in Moab and have an issue with your bike, go see Monty. Two flats on my fat tire e-bike. First place I called wanted $140 to $160 since it's wide tire and all wheel drive. Called Monty and he talked me through the options without sounding and acting like a bicycle elitist. Awesome shop with just the right amount of gear, clothes, swag, and components. He and his wife are very personable and friendly; you can tell they care about what they're doing and their customers. Oh, and it was less than $20 for him to fix the tires. And told me to come back if there were any issues and he would address them immediately. So, if you value being treated like a person and getting your problems solved rapidly, go see Monty! read more

Double Down Bike Shop - Double Down Bike Shop - Bike Rentals Near Me - Moab, Utah

This is my favorite bike shop in Moab! Dustin and his mechanics are friendly, do a great job, and are always happy to teach you something about bikes. I've rented top end bikes from them, had service done, and they really helped me out when I needed my frame warrantied. I recommend stoping in even if you don't need anything, but just to talk bikes with Dustin. They also have a great selection of tools and bikes necessities. read more

Was lucky enough to get 2 road bikes the same day I requested them. Affordable compared to the competition in the area. I think we paid about 90 bucks total for the full day which yes, is expensive overall but it's a tourist town so I think planning ahead of time to pay up is probably the right call. Staff was friendly, helped adjust the seat height, aired up the tires and taught us how to change the wheel or patch a hole if need be. If you're thinking about going around town to explore, don't walk. BIKE! :) read more

Double Down Bike Shop - While this pic is from the car on the way out, it's a place where we biked and loved it! - Bike Rentals Near Me - Moab, Utah

There are quite a few bike rental shops in Moab and this is the BEST ONE! We brought our 12 year old in, they fitted him with the perfect bike, showed him the ropes and gave him everything he needed to shred as a beginner. They were kind, generous and helpful and we could not recommend them more! read more

Double Down was awesome for a week-long mountain bike rental. They had good selection even though I was booking pretty last-minute, and their web booking portal was easy & intuitive. Pickup and dropoff were quick, and the staff was super helpful. Started out with flat pedals and got them to switch me to SPD's halfway through, which they were super nice about. Every time I interacted with folks in real life COVID precautions seemed to be taken seriously - didn't see any of the "oh shit a customer's here quick put masks back on" stuff that I've seen in a couple other shops. The bike itself (Revel Rascal) was great - no mechanical issues, perfect fit for the terrain I was riding, etc. Thanks for facilitating a greak week of riding, Double Down team! read more

Double Down Bike Shop - Rental Revel Rascal at Captain Ahab - Bike Rentals Near Me - Moab, Utah

Dustin went out of his way to fix my wife's Kona bike on a Sunday afternoon. We were in a bind because we had already scheduled a shuttle for the next day but he was able to find the needed parts and fix it in time! This is the second year in a row we needed help and Double Down Bikes came through both times! While there I also found a sweet Revel Rascal 29er to replace my aging Santa Cruz Superlight model that had seen better days. read more

The rental bikes were like-new and beautifully maintained. The folks at the shop were very patient, friendly, and helpful. All in all, our 1-day ebike rental experience was a highlight of our trip and I would absolutely go back to Double Down Bike Shop again. read more

On a 2 week mountain biking/hiking trip to Moab. We stopped in here on our rest day because we didn't really know what to do with ourselves. The guys are super friendly and were happy to talk about local trails, etc even thougb we didn't buy much. They are knowledgeable about bikes, the local trails, etc and have quite a selection of gear in the shop. We stopped at another shop, too, but this was our favorite because the guys were so nice. read more

While on a 10 day trip from Washington to Arizona we stopped in Moab to check out the parks and ride mountain bikes, this morning I crushed a brake line, called Double Down and they said they would happily take a look at it. Met with Dustin and he replaced my line and got me back on the road headed to Arizona in an hour. This is on a Saturday of spring break no less. If you're looking for a great bike shop to support, look no further. read more

I blew up a derailleur and they were able to get me back on the trail within hours at a very reasonable price.

Friendly shop with good equipment and prices. I rented 2 bikes for a day and a trailer hitch bike rack. My son and I weren't planning on hitting it very hard. The girl who helped us was honest and didn't recommend the extra insurance coverage. There were no issues returning the bikes and we really enjoyed the experience, quick and painless. I'd rent from them again. read more

Excellent service, this place is all about customer service, great bikes, friendly/helpful staff who knows the area and recommends rides. Did I say excellent customer service? read more

This bike shop is amazing. I needed some shifter cables and housings. Monty quickly made up some cable housings and then installed them and gave me a tune up. It feels like a new bike now. While waiting we decided to rent mountain bikes. The bikes were great and they gave us good pointers on places to go for beginners. I highly recommend this shop!! read more

This was a great place to go for parts and repair, not only because it was off the main road and had fewer customers, but because the service was excellent. Staff were very friendly and accommodating with all of my questions and still fixed my bike with very reasonable prices. I highly recommend this place and will gladly come here again. read more

Double Down Bike Shop - Heading out on the Slickrock trail - Bike Rentals Near Me - Moab, Utah

We recently spent a day mountain biking near Moab, Utah, and we rented our bikes from Double Down Bike Rentals. I had reserved bikes online, and accidentally reserved an e-bike for my wife. No problem at Double Down. Dustin bang-snap swapped her the right bike, popped a bike rack on no charge (we had planned to put then in our truck bed), gave us a refund for the e-bike/mountain bike price difference. Dustin also gave us suggestions where to ride for our experience level. We were in and out in 20 minutes. The bikes were awesome and we had a great day. Dropped off the bikes at 4:45, also seemless! Highly recommend Double Down! read more

My girlfriend and I had an awesome time with our Kona Process 134's. The staff was friendly and their rentals and merchandise were very reasonably priced. I bought some new gloves to rep their logo (same price as Amazon) and a bunch of Lip Rescue balm (never seen it before!). read more

Double Down saved me! I recently visited Moab for the weekend and experienced some major mechanical issues with my '18 Salsa Bucksaw. Monty saved my weekend by replacing my derailleur cable, straightening my derailleur hanger, switching out my brake pads and checking my brakes. Monty did this all in a matter of hours, allowing me to ride my last day in Moab at Slickrock. This type of service would have taken 1 week back in Denver, CO. Go to Double Down for your Moab mountain bike needs and ask for that stud Monty to fix your bike up. I highly recommend Double Down! read more

Feminine-presenting folks, this is your spot! The employees were neither condescending nor mansplain-y, but they were very invested in educating me so I could be more independent with my bike maintenance. A rare find to be treated this way in such a male-dominated sport. They fixed my leaky tire within 24 hours of me dropping it off, saving my vacation. I'll be a repeat customer here! read more

Great shop! Second year coming in- this time though to buy accessories rather than needing bike repair. Great service, very friendly staff. Highly recommend! read more

Great service and a fantastic fleet of Canfield Brothers rental & demo bikes in this shop. Dustin and the crew at Double Down are some of the best mountain bike service technicians in Moab. If you're looking for someone to fix or repair anything on your bike before you head out to Slickrock, Amasaback, Dead Horse Point, Bar M, Klondike Bluffs or any of the other amazon trails around Moab, not only will they fit you into their schedule as fast as possible, they really know their trails in the area and can make excellent recommendations. read more

Not only is this shop legit but very stocked up with all the right necessities. This shop is the top one in Moab in my book very personable great customer service and they carry Revel bikes such an awesome bike. Dustin got me all squared away with the rental even though I brought my own bike lol, but I can't thank this dude enough next trip for sure I'm only going to this shop thanks again for making our first time in Moab a memorable one read more

We were passing through Moab (enroute from Kodachrome State Park to Arches and needed to get one of the eBikes fixed up, including fixing the broken chain. The trail in Kodachrome had chewed us up and spit us out! The guys at Double Down did a great job of fixing the chain, and adjusting and checking everything on both of our bikes (Surly Krampus frames with Luna eBike parts.) We arrived at 5:30 PM and all was done as promised by noon the next day. Both bikes performed much more smoothly. and better, after the adjustments. What a wonderful experience and thank you for all the input and knowledge you shared. Sure wish you were my neighborhood bike shop here where we live. Thank you so much. read more

These guys kick ass. Bike had a problematic dropper and blown out tire. Swung by at 2 on a Sat and they fixed the dropper (while I was standing there) and threw on a new tire. On a cross country biking trip. Life savers. read more

Newer shop, off the main strip. Dustin and his team are much more like an old school shop. Laid back, no attitude. Optimized my suspension in the spot. Rented two sweet niners. Great service. Some of the bigger shops in Moab have issues with rude employees (unless you are Danny mcaskill or whatever) and just don't get it. Come check this place out. It's worth getting off the tourist trap strip. read more

Long story short is these guys are fantastic both in customer service and technical ability to resolve issues (quickly). Other shops in town were telling me 5-6 hours to even take a look at my bike, and these guys got me in and out in less than an hour. Not an optimal scenario when you're only in town for a day or two. Another shop in town recommended Dustin and his crew, so I gave it a shot. It was apparent in watching them work, they absolutely know what they're doing and they committed to doing whatever they can to take care of you. I wish they were local to where I live, I'd be a loyal customer without a doubt. Do yourself a favor and skip the other shops in town and check these guys out first. You will not regret it - they're top notch and the price was beyond fair. read more

Dustin and the crew at Double Down went way above and beyond. I would highly recommend this bike shop because of their friendliness and service. Their bikes are fantastic, and they have a lot of great recommendations for all levels of bikers. Their prices are great and you really can't bear their customer care. read more
