I came here last month and had the worst autoshop experience in my life. Rillito's is the type of auto shop you always hear about to avoid because they will take advantage of you and scam you. Albert was the manager who scammed me, lied to me, and sent me on the road with a deficiency they caused which was life-endangering. I've been dreading writing this review because I am absolutely scarred by this experience and do not want to bring it back to my memory. However, I definitely want to warn others to stay away. I only came here because the autoshop I was originally referred to was booked for the week so they told me (unfortunately) about these folks who were just down the street.
Throughout, Albert lied about costs and did not put anything in writing (no quote) until the very end (while having possession of my car) when he put together a bogus invoice for a whopping $700.57 (which he tried to add an additional 70 bucks to but I absolutely refused) to replace a throttle body assembly and pedal sensor for my 2009 SUV. The pricing did not match what he initially verbally quoted. He held my car for three whole days just to do this simple task and on top of that, they did NOT properly connect/program the pedal sensor (day two) and I told him I cannot go anywhere until he did it correctly and I later learned on the road (by the time I got to Phoenix) so I had to stay another night in town. He LIED and told me they did on day three that they successfully reprogrammed it so that he could collect my money. I paid him the ridiculous $700.76 because I was afraid and not a native in that town. I was just a visitor who already spent extra money to stay an additional two nights in Tuscon because my vehicle was sitting in Rillito's possession.
When I was in Phoenix and learned that he lied, I pulled over and called him to report the issue and magically Albert at Rillito's can no longer be reached and he did not return my call as I also left a message with one of the workers who answered and said he'll call me back. I ended up having to go to another auto shop who resolved my issues. To this day, Rillito's never got back to me.
I wonder why I got this treatment as a first time customer after looking at other reviews. Hmm. This was an awful experience that I hope no one else ever has to go through.Please save your time, money, and peace and go elsewhere. read more
