I love angel hair pasta. Not a huge fan of spaghetti, I'm just picky. I don't like the texture of spaghettiI was looking forward to my angel hair with tomatoes. Garlic, olive oil and Parmesan cheese. The dish was tasty. The serving size was surprising large and I did eat it all! Next time I will explain that I would like the dish with angel hair pasta. It's disappointing when you ask for something as simple as swapping out the type of pasta served and it is as if you are asking for something out of line. The bread was great as usual... Didn't get a chance to try the food. I have a food allergy and asked them to take out the food that I am allergic to and the lady at the register told me there's nothing she can do and they cannot do that. I told them what if people have an allergic reaction and die you're not going to accommodate them? she responded with yes no. sorry. (Like if they die too bad). She was like it's fine, since she was hungry, but as she continued to eat the food she found MORE! Tiny little, black hairs. It was so gross that we didn't feel comfortable finishing our other meals. Simply grossed out, a green bug in my pasta. I took it back to the General Manager and he admitted to, bug must have been in the sauce... My wife and I had lunch here yesterday. There were a number of positives, and so I was tempted to give 4 stars, but I just didn't feel comfortable or satisfied enough while here (I understand why this place is averaging 3 stars). "At Rigatoni's, you pay the cashier, get a number and help yourself to the bread bar while you're waiting." Mario and Luigi were leaving when we arrived (Mario had tomato sauce in his mustache). Anyway, our cashier could tell that I wasn't happy with him at first. He made me feel rushed (I purposely had us stand by the doors when we entered so that my wife could look at the menu). On the plus side, he was thorough and thoughtful (he made sure that my wife ordered a drink because her meal didn't qualify for a combo price like mine did). Great hours: Sun-Thur 11 a.m.-9 p.m.; Fri & Sat 11 a.m.-9:30 p.m. There's free Wi-Fi. The seating capacity is over 80, but I don't like the layout here (the tables are too close to each other). The table on my left was even moved over a little by an employee. Anyway, it was loud and hectic inside (a large group dominated the back, and a smaller one was sitting near us). I briefly thought about having us eat outside, but the chairs were propped up because it had been raining earlier. (The restaurant is good for groups and families. If you want more intimacy, you should eat elsewhere.) It wasn't an issue, but we were sitting near the kitchen. What did annoy me, though, was that our table was a little wobbly. The food itself is mediocre, and the staff just doesn't seem pleased to be there, and certainly not happy that you're there. It wasn't crowded at all and like I said most people are standing around except one girl who would serve food then should walk up close to me... With that being said, Rigatoni's is not the worst and it's not the greatest. I personally really enjoy this place because it's affordable and decent. I've had pastas at much more expensive restaurants that were not nearly as good as Rigatonis. I've had the chicken alfredo, spaghetti and meatballs, meat tortellinis and lasagna and all were well prepared and filling. My favorite is probably the meat tortellini, it was perfectly cooked and the sauce was well seasoned. Another good thing about Rigatonis is that if you are really hungry (like I usually am) you don't have to wait more than 15 minutes for your meal! You can see the food being prepared behind the counter, too. If you aren't willing to pay much for authentic italian food, then you'll probably enjoy Rigatonis. read more

This used to be one of our favorite go to places in Castro Valley. I've lived here my whole life. I don't know if there need ownership in the last year or two but the service is terrible. We used to love it. Now we have vowed to never return. We gave it chance after chance. First of the customer service is terrible but ever since COVID they give two measley tiny pieces of bread. I ask for just two more even though we get more than over meal and I am always looked at with scorn more when they reject my request. I understand hard times for restaurants, I do.
