High on the hill overlooking Positano is where you will find Rifugio dei Mele. It is a trek to get there, but when you do it is magical. In a beautiful medieval village, there is an amazing view of the bay and on a good day you can see Capri. The food is excellent as well, but you are there for the atmosphere more than the food. Service is laid back and can be slow at times.

FANTASTIC!!! A MUST visit for your next Positano vacation!! Food was phenomenal. We tried the eggs of the Gods appetizer and it was SO good! Normally I would not try something so out of the ordinary but another review said go for it and I agree! In between appetizer, dinner, and dessert they brought over little bite size plates of special menu items to cleanse the palate... everything was SO SO GOOD STOP READING THIS ALREADY AND BOOK AN EVENING HERE!!

I loved this restaurant. Very out of the way, but they have a shuttle service pick up at your hotel. The view and sunset were spectacular. For the food. My dinner was excellent. My friends meat was over cooked. And upon a replacement it was very under cooked. To the credit of the restaurant, they comped her dinner.

We were given a complimentary bite to start, followed by some bread, and also ended with a couple of tiny sweets. Staff was warm and attentive. There's a 3.5 euro coperto/person. Eggplant parm was good. Not nearly as heavy as dishes in the States. Ravioli was also a winner, and I appreciate staff splitting up the entree for us. We ended up sharing the turbot fish as well, and it was cooked well with mashed potatoes and some veggies.

It's not breaded eggplant which is how I prefer it. The muscles had the most delicious broth that you could drink it was so light and flavorful. My favorite was the tempura cod bites. The breading was light and crispy and the fish was so fresh. It was served on a bed of cooked escarole which was just as amazing as its counterpart. They also provided an upscale sweet and sour sauce which was very light and vinegary I loved it! The service was excellent. Rafello was our server and he was so sweet and attentive. The restaurant has a beautiful view although at night it's very dark so you can't see too much of it. The outside dining area is where we ate and the experience was delightful! Would absolutely make Kasai a must when we return to Praiano.

When it comes to pizza, I'm a snob and this place has it all. Here's the KEY--Their speciality is fried pizza. This is very unique! After making their super fresh dough, they lightly fry it. Afterward they sauce and add toppings. Then they quickly bake it in a fire oven. I promise you, it's great. This is a great pizza to share and definitely a novelty. The have a "la super" margherita-- which is a margherita pizza that is 70cm long. This is great is you have a group and it can feed about 4-6, if you get appetizers. We also had: Capri which is pizza with red sauce, basil, beefsteak tomatoes and fresh mozzarella. A traditional margherita- the best in this area. Melagianella- an eggplant dish, with basil and Parmesan. Tasty Fried Food- a mix of fresh, fried vegetables. Caponata napoletana- delicious! We got this without meat. Similar to bruschetta, just much better. Service was excellent. We enjoyed this place so much, we went twice. They do take reservations and do have outdoor and indoor seating. Please see my photos and check this place out. You won't regret it because I don't!

We understand that Italy has a more relaxed pace than the U.S., but it would've been nice if someone checked in on us occasionally for drink refills or to see if we needed anything. Good food. Good ambiance…read more Here's the issue - the first time they brought my parmigiana, it was frozen. Like I took a bite out of it, and it was cold and crunchy (like frozen). I asked, they said no it was not meant to be cold, and promptly brought me a new warm one. Which tasted good. But then ... the check comes and they charged full price for everything. Like they didn't even knock off the cover for the mistake they made. I didn't ask if they would discount the meal because I shouldn't have to. A high quality restaurant would have done it without putting me in the awkward position of having to ask. They would have just done it because serving a frozen dish is just kind of embarrassing ... especially on the Amalfi coast where they take so much pride in the quality of their cuisine. Anyway, I just paid the bill and walked out. Poor etiquette on their part ... you should not put your customers in the position of having to ask. Just do what's right up front.
