This is a late review. My experience here was so unpleasant that I still think about it. I wish I took a pick but I was driving. I ordered a pizza picked up on store waited a while . The guy helping me seemed nice he apologized for the pizza looking different. He said they took a slice off another pizza. I picked that slice in the car and there was a long hair under the cheese. The place looks like it's also falling apart. I believe it was placed on there on purpose. He seemed annoyed o had asked if they use coupons i had just bought form a fundraiser. He said no , I still ordered the pizza. This was my first time hearing about this pizza place so did not know what to expect. Needless to say I go to the one I Modesto now on dale rd and it is a very different experience. read more

We checked out Rico's Pizza in Empire and never went back. They had a special deal for a large one topping pizza for around $7.00. We always get half creamy white/garlic sauce and half red sauce whenever we get pizza, at almost any pizza establishment. Well, they said that would be the FULL cost of the pizza, no sale! A regular one topping pizza was around $20.00!! That is a HUGE jump in price for a little sauce difference! Plus, they charge for everything! Including the ranch on the side. Plus, the girl taking the order was super rude about it. Like the price difference was coming out of her own pocket or something. Guess what? We left and went to a different Rico's, and had no complaints. Won't ever come back to Rico's in Empire. read more

I used to use Rico's a lot for gatherings and then, on a delivery, the driver became upset at me for not dropping what I was doing and instantly attending to his needs, he got angry and left. When I opened the box, there was a piece missing. Apparently he had dropped the order on the way in, became frustrated and took out his anger on me and my those I was with. To be fair, he refused payment and when I called and asked to pay anyway for what we did receive, the person made it clear they didn't want my business (which up to that point was several hundred dollars a year). So it was with GREAT satisfaction that I read today's Modesto Bee listing of the favorite pizza places in Stanislaus County. Rico's was neither nominated or ranked. I am so not surprised. read more

Golden if you need to feed a horde of hungry youngsters on a budget; not for you if you're a pizza snob like me. They do HUGE pizzas for surprisingly cheap (heck, I still remember a different Rico's from high school parties a long time ago!). The quality is solid -- decent ingredients and lots of them, crust fully cooked, pleasant staff. It tastes like a mid-range pizza, not like a cheap pizza. In pizza style, it's the thinnish soft crust that seems to be a California thing. They manage to get it cooked through even when loaded with ingredients, which is a plus. read more

Spend money elsewhere! I placed an online order and still had to wait an 1hr in store for my order and no one was in store had a total of two to go orders within that hr. Staff hides in the back and didn't answer me when I asked how much longer specifically two women employees. The only one who was helpful and did bring my order and answered me was a younger man with a beanie so shout out to him he's the only reason for the two stars. I won't be coming here again sadly go to the location in Turlock instead. read more

Still a great Pizza, sadly its hard as hell to find out who controls the franchise, I would love to see one in Oakdale instead of having to drive all the way to empire for a slice. But at least they are still around. If ya haven't tried their Party Pizza yet, your missing out. I love to come here and enjoy the Tuesday special a three topping large pizza for 11 bucks But today I had the worst experience ever when I walked in the my girlfriend and my son instantly thought that the facility smell like shit we told them but they didn't do nothing about it then they burned or pizza or pizza was overcooked and crunchy and there's flies everywhere the entire time I was in the facility of smell like shit it was gross and nasty with flies everywhere today was a horrible experience read more

I love their combination Party Pizza's. They are way more affordable than they were 8 years ago under the old ownership. Back then I had to pay $70 for the party pizza's, now I pay around $48 after taxes. Also, the combo is pretty good, better than the ones from back in the day. The staff is friendly and they give me a good estimate of time for when the pizza will be ready for pick up. Also, they have recently offered delivery. Though I think you have to buy a certain amount. I'm pretty content with the service I've gotten so far. Though recently I did have to ask the girl at the counter to give me a little bit more peppers, she only gave me like 8 packets for the huge 26" Party Pizza, but she gave me some more after I asked. read more

I was disappointed that the bathroom didn't have a lock on it but the place did have a nice atmosphere. They have a pool table an video games. The pizza slices are huge and they're very good priced. The pizza was very flavorful too I liked it a lot. read more

This was my first and maybe my last time here. The service was good that's why they got three stars instead of two, but the pizza slice was dry and did not taste fresh or good. The little amount of sauce that it did have was bland. They advertise fresh hand tossed daily bit it seemed as though they stuck yesterdays pizza back in the oven. read more

I'm giving this Rico's a 2 because it's been going down hill FAST. Their pizza used to be garlicky, buttery, and perfect actually they had a nice combo going on with the pizza. Now each time we've been going the pizza has changed big time. The pizza we just got right now 6/22/19 was so hard it was almost burnt, bland on flavor, very tough hard to chew. It's a hit and a miss with customer service most of the time there is a couple respectful boys working but at night if you try to order a pizza before closing they are down right rude and say "oh we don't make pizza 30 minutes before closing" I'm not sure if this is for every Rico's because it's bullshit they really need to have it posted on their door/website because it's not right. Not to mention the decor is really outdated the carpets desperately need a shampoo or changed.12 We only continue to go here because it's the more decent pizza you can get in the area but the quality of the pizza is really going down hill. Really not pleased I hope you guys fix this because I like coming here I'd hate to have to find another pizza place to eat at. read more

About a solid year ago I would come get pizza almost every Tues (because of their Tuesday specialty price and one really awesome employee that i don't see there any more). Unfortunately it has continued to decline in both service and quality since then. I adventually stopped coming, until I came in tonight and remembered exactly why. Wait time is way longer than should be, customer service treats the customer as though they are an inconvenience. Quality of pizza is definitely not what it used to be. Crust is flat and hard to chew, what used to be a generous amount of toppings that would cover the whole pizza is now sparsely scattered no where near to touching another topping. Pretty dissatisfied once again. To bad Empire is so small, and there isn't room for another pizza parlor. read more

This is crazy, we just ordered 2 topping large pizza, salami and mushrooms! What a joke! We, I am very upset, this is not cool, we got maybe 8 Zealand's and veryupset few mushrooms! I was informed by the employee who apologized and said that the owner of Uncle Moe's was no longer accepting Groupons (owner didn't like the specific deal published) and recommended that I request a refund from Groupon. I had already taken the time to drive down here, so I opted to buy a pizza anyways. It seemed shady that the owner didn't accept the groupon anymore, but the employee who seemed like a manager was nice enough (he seemed to take his job seriously and wanted to make a good pizza to our specifications.) He made our pizza with a well done crust like I requested. It was pretty good. I would give our first visit 4 stars. ____ On a recent Sunday night when we had out of town guests over, we decided to call in a pizza order for two pizzas around 7 pm. They close at 8 pm. The female who answered the phone said that they were closing up the kitchen soon. We were confused as to whether or not they were still open till 8 pm. So we asked if we should still place an order for pizza to be picked up whenever they were ready. She reluctantly said, "Yes." Geez, if you don't want to make pizza then just tell us and we'll order from somewhere else... and save us the trouble. We ordered two large specialty pizzas (Railroad and California Chicken) with well done crusts. We sent two people to pick up the pizzas and it seemed like the owner and his family were all there hanging out, waiting for the shop to close. The nice guy who seemed like the manager last time wasn't there this time. We probably picked up the pizzas around 7:35 - 7:40 pm. The pizza was totally different from our first visit despite ordering the same pizzas. The pizza crust was disappointingly pale and very soft. It was the last time that I'll ever order pizza here again. I try to support locally owned businesses, but when pizza hut gives you better customer service and better pizza...

We found, what looked like someone's piece of fried hair!!! Disgusting!!! To whom ever had the broken looking hair or head full of split ends, please wear a hair net!!! I don't appreciate your nap in my food!
