The next day I went back and picked up a whole pepperoni pie. When I got home and opened the box, my kid's reaction to the size of the pizza was priceless, and they absolutely crushed it. I came back today with my cousin, my brother and my nephew. We arrived about 10 minutes before they opened. I got the PRH slice and got to try the Detroit for the first time. We tried, PRH, Vodka Roni and the Sacred slice. There was nothing left. This pizza is the kind that even when you are full you just want more. The crust on both pizzas is crunchy and there is no flop on the New York slice. I feel if Dave Portnoy came to try this Pizza it would be in the 7.8 range. Loved the pizza it was so good after a long flight in from Hawaii my son took us here for dinner. Very impressed by the food truck pizza with pizzazz. The pizza was a great big pie with ricotta, hot honey and pepperoni. We literally devoured it and can't wait to try more when visiting again. I love this pizza place. The pizza tastes very good and it also tastes like a real food, not processed and bad. I love coming here with my boyfriend, the little food truck area is cute and sometimes there is markets there. The pepperoni pizza is amazing. the staff is nice too The only thing i would say for improvements is i feel like recently my pizza has been a little burnt. Its still tastes good but it just has a little bit of that black burntness recently and i dont like that because it used to not have that. Also i wish they either had more staff or had a building. I dont like how they run out of pizza because sometimes it makes plans inconvient. a few times we have planned to go we end up seeing on instagram that they are sold out for the day unfortunately. But i understand that it is a business owned by regular people, not a huge corporation so sometimes things like that will happen! I'm not sure how to rate this food truck. I've been trying to catch it for over three weeks now, checking their Instagram and going to their usual spot in the plaza, but they are never there. I have even gone before their posted times at times to make sure it's not me missing them. Last week, I finally found them at Last Call Brewery in Oakdale. Their posted hours were 5-8 PM, so my husband and I got there around 5:30. When I went to place an order at around 6:30, I was told they only had two types of pizza left and couldn't make any more deep-dish pizzas due to the number of orders they'd already received. While I appreciate how busy they must be, it was frustrating after so much effort to try their food. I ended up politely declining. Pizza isn't a strong point in the Modesto area. However, this place is pretty good. Ive only had the New York style, which was light and had a good crunch. I like the sauce and the fact that they have a good balance between sauce and toppings. They seem to use fresh ingredients and have a friendly staff. Overall, I have Sacred Slice as the best pizza option in Modesto. I do have two minor complaints. I think they need to figure out how to keep their employees cool in the truck. I've called to order a pizza but was met with a closed message due to the 100 degree temperature. I hope this isn't an issue all summer. Also, I'm not a fan of the extra Parmesan they layer on top. Really great pizza, price for some people might be a little steep at $5.50-7+ a slice. The service is great with the owner being very honest about the ingredients he uses. My one qualm is that they don't use brick cheese but use the title of "Detroit" pizza. It's not Detroit without the brick cheese. I personally find NY pizza to be bland, I like the crispiness and the undercarriage it provides but ultimately it lacks flavor. You'd have to get pepperoni if you want any type of elevated flavors outside of bread, sauce cheese. I don't like the location, it's in an area that's around tons of homeless people and the seating is hit or miss outside in the heat. Good pizza just not authentic to the name ; before anyone thinks I'm being pretentious about the cheese it's like making mozzarella sticks and you bite into them and they're made with velveeta. slices we tried were first off huge! Starring at the through the window I was greeted promptly and they explained there menu and time frame for a custom order. We opted for 2 premade slices and were not disappointed both had great flavor and killer crust. The first was just good old fashion cheese but the red sauce has a great mix of garlic and herbs and the cheese had a good pull and flavor . The 2nd slice was a garlic butter vodka type sauce with 3 cheeses but not your average it's a mix of ricotta, Parmesan, and there bomb mozzarella! This one was called "the dude" if your eating on site it's a food truck setup with picnic tables out for you to sit and eat and plenty of of parking around the restaurant.
