Headed up towards Murphy's for the weekend and picked this spot for dinner - it was fairly early so it wasn't yet crowded (6pm) and we were relieved as the teenagers were starving - we ordered a couple burgers, tater tots, tacos, and I believe a pulled pork sandwich? My youngest can't remember and mine were the tacos, lol. We enjoyed the flavor of all of the food - it came out hot and delicious - it just seemed to take a looooong time for it to come out - maybe the cook wasn't there yet - regardless, it was still good and the adults enjoyed a Pliney and a few Russian River specials. We don't live anywhere near here but if driving through I'd like to stop here again. Worth the wait!

This brewery is located in downtown Modesto, right across from Starbucks, with plenty of convenient street parking nearby. This was our second time visiting, and once again, we were impressed by their great selection of beers and tasty food options. The service was outstanding super friendly and welcoming. There's plenty of seating, both indoors and outdoors, and a fun, laid-back atmosphere. They also have a great collection of board games to enjoy while you sip, plus TV usually playing sports. Definitely a great spot to relax and hang out with friends!

We've only been here a couple times for drinks so I'm not sure about the food but there brew options are awesome The mango or guava drink is our go-to. The second time we went we were offered this chamoy and tajined rim. And the flavor matched perfectly with the fruity taste of the cold adult beverage. We sat outside and people watched while we sipped our cold refreshments on a hot Modesto day.

This is a woman owned brewery. It's in a great area with lots of restaurants around . They either already serve coffee or will soon I seen online . They have wine, craft beers on tap . They also offer beers to go from other breweries . They now serve pizza and it looked delicious it's Detroit style . I need to go back to try it out . Inside they have game boards to play and a pac man pretty cool . Everyone was really friendly and nice . The only thing I'm a hazy girl and they had no hazy beer here . Overall this is a great location with great beers and great people. I would definitely check them out . I love that they are open till 11pm on Friday and Saturday.

First time out here in a bit (downtown), bc I live in Escalon..do a lot in Oakdale!! Friends invited us out for beer and pizza at this little GEM!! Brigette and her mother have a wonderful Brewery. It's quaint however offers lots of elbow room PLUS they are working on their Beer Garden. Cant wait We had one of each of their 3 pizza offerings, trust me, that's all you need is the 3! Detroit style EXCELLENT, all three with their spicy HONEY Tipping drizzle. WOWWZER EFFECT‼ check them out you will be glad you did. Oh by the way... GREAT BEER TOO. Board games TV'S & good company .

This place has some Immaculate vibes. I was obsessed with their sour beers! They even have an option to add a Mexican candy for $1. I also saw someone sipping a beer with chamoy, tajin and a pineapple! So yummy. Staff was super friendly and it seemed like a small family owned place. They have a whole bookshelf of board games so this place is perfect for a big group. The inside seemed a little cluttered but outside seating was perfect. The power went out while we were there and the owners were so funny about it and yet very accommodating. Coming back soon!

Whoops forgot to take a pic until half way through!

Great beers. I especially enjoyed their hazy IPA's. Parking was a bit difficult but if you don't mind a little walk it's not too bad! There are a good amount of tables inside and outside with games and jenga outside. I saw a couple people playing games inside and can imagine that later in the evening it would be a very fun place to be. Their food vendor, Sabor Mio Quesabirrias was delicious as well.

This is one of our favorite breweries come winter or summer in Modesto. We stopped by today to have a drink and learned they added pizza to their menu. Not only pizza, but Detroit pizza with the most delicious crust and toppings. You can sit at a table and watch a game, fight or just hang out and they will bring your beer and I pizza to your table. The best service always... best service around!!!

Sonoma Pale Ale, 18Seventy Brewing Co., Modesto, Ca.

For those of us who enjoy well crafted beer, created from local sources, and made with a passion and joy - you have to visit and support 18Seventy Brewing Co.('Desto, Ca.)...and she is woman owned! I had the pleasure of meeting the owner and brewmaster. She is pleasant, knowledgeable, attentive, and darn right cool! I had a pint of Sonoma Pale Ale. Delicious. Sampled a couple of Hazy IPAs - both amazing! And then a pint of Lux Lager, equally delicious. The beer menu is impressive with a diverse representation for any beer appreciation. She has ciders and seltzer for those who prefer. All the beers had personality, pleasing on the pallet, quality to the taste, refreshingly alive, and damn chilly to quench the thirst. But, for we quality beer drinkers who demand excellent crated ales and stouts, this is a great spot. Good for the locals and economy, and worth the drive if you are curious. I visit monthly as a volunteer with Operation 9-2-99, Tuolumne River clean up (https://sites.google.com/a/monet.k12.ca.us/gdhs-guptill-c/tuolumne-river-project), and I look forward to my next visit. I'll have a couple and a growler to go! Come out and volunteer with Op 9299, say Hello to me and that you read my post...and I'll buy you a beer if you're old enough to drink. "Have growler; will travel." Edward A.

Loved this place. The family owned atmosphere is so inviting. The frozen guava pineapple cider is delicious with chopped up fruit. The nitro coffee stout is the best I've ever had! I can't wait for a reason to come back to Modesto to come visit them again!

From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with cool locomotive blueprint art and subtle rail details that make it feel like you're about to embark on a relaxing adventure (without leaving your seat). It's clean, bright, and welcoming, with plenty of seating whether you're riding solo or coming in with your crew. I ordered a flight served in a beautiful wooden tray, and it was the perfect way to sample their lineup. The Hefe was like a smooth, easy ride through the countryside, while the Stout was a rich, roasty experience that felt like pulling into a cozy station at the end of the line. They've done a great job balancing the industrial feel with warm, local touches, and there's a TV to catch the game without overpowering the relaxed environment. The train theme is subtle yet charming, and you can tell they've put care into creating a space where you can slow down and enjoy good beer and good company. If you're looking for a place to "stay on track" with quality beer and a friendly vibe, this brewery is absolutely worth the stop. Can't wait to return for another round!

It's not chaotic karaoke. It's not ego-driven. It's a room where singers are respected, the sound is dialed in, and the energy rises and falls naturally throughout the night. What I appreciate most is how they run the floor. Rotation stays fair. The mic levels are balanced. Adjustments are made when needed. They're paying attention -- and that matters when you care about your performance. I've watched the room swell to 60+ and ease down to a tight circle near closing, and both versions feel good. Big crowd? Electric. Smaller crowd? Intimate and locked in. That's leadership from the booth. And here's the exciting part: Starting Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at 8PM, they're opening another karaoke night during the week. That tells you everything. They're not coasting. They're building. Opening a Tuesday gives local singers another space to sharpen their craft, support a venue that supports them, and bring life into a traditionally slower night. That's good for the performers and good for downtown. If you're someone who: * Likes clean sound * Appreciates organized rotations * Wants to sing without drama * Or just wants a solid midweek night out Put Tuesday at 8PM on your calendar. Here, you order your food, grab a number, and find your own seat for the food to be brought out to you. We sat at a table outside to decide what to order. There were no menus available so we just had to search for it online before heading inside to order. Despite being third in line from the register, we had an extremely long wait to order. There was only one person running the register who also had to make the drinks, meaning the service incredibly slow. We wanted to order the five taco platter, garlic fries, chicken Caesar salad, and mimosa pitcher. Sadly, we were only able to get the pitcher and salad. The cashier told us "sorry, we aren't doing fries right now." Not doing fries? Every plate in the vicinity had fries on them. She said that because it was brunch hour, only food on the brunch menu could be ordered. We looked at the brunch menu again and literally saw garlic fries as an option as a side for the burgers/sandwiches. No where did it specify that you can't order off the other menu and both were available online. What bothered us about this is that we placed this order at around 1:50pm, and brunch ended at 2:00pm. I understand that we are not entitled to things on the lunch menu during brunch-time for items like the tacos, but considering the menu swap was less than 10 minutes away and they were quite literally were "doing fries" at the time, it didn't make much sense to us. The only food that we ended up ordering was the Chicken Caesar Salad. This one dish took a super long time to receive. By the time it was brought out, the three of us nearly finished the Mimosa pitcher. The waitress noticed we had no silverware and said she would go grab us some. Because of how the service had been going thus far, we placed a bet on whether or not the waitress would come back with the silverware. Surprise, surprise. She didn't. We had to go inside later and search for silverware ourselves. We weren't even able to get sharing plates which was upsetting since the waitress asked us if we would be sharing the salad. The salad itself looked delicious, but was bland. The dressing was missing that zing and zest that a Caesar dressing typically has. I do appreciate that is was a chopped salad, had avocado, and seasoned croutons. It is just unfortunate that it was lacking any flavor at all. The food prices are quite affordable for the quantity of food you receive though. This experience was disappointing because I was so optimistic about the place. The menu looked good, it had fun and casual vibes and a cool crowd of people. If Commonwealth worked towards better service practices, it would have been a more positive experience.

Looking at the exterior, we could only guess what was coming. Walking in just after opening gave us opportunity to marvel over the beautifully appointed interior without bothering yet to arrive lunch customers. After perusing the menu, which we had somewhat studied pre decision to dine here, our waiter Matteo filled in item by item our understanding of the many menu options. With his help and suggestions we four decided to share two "starters" - the whipped feta - half classic and half smoky. Both were delicious! We chose the 4 piece Bruschetta with a suggested cheese added. It too rang the delicious bell. We picked paninis for our main course: Flank steak, French dip and Prosciutto & Fig Jam. Each would be served with a side salad - either Spinach or Spring. We all chose Spinach. The sandwiches were full of the components as described. My wife's Prosciutto & Fig Jam had prosciutto from end to end countering a review to the contrary I had read. The other paninis were likewise filled. The Spinach side salads were loaded with walnuts and cranberries. The amount of feta was adequate. the total amount of salad was more than I expected. My wife ordered a dessert to go, and just reported to me that was superb. We had to forgo any wine with lunch as we had miles to drive home afterward. But I await the day we can spend the night in town and enjoy some selections of their impressive wine stock and not have to drive home. A Friday evening comes to mind. It must happen so we can try out more items of their well chosen fare. A couple of the pokes look scrumptious and a few more of the paninis await my gastric juices. We were pleasantly surprised by Damon bringing us a complimentary Chocolate Panini served with house made whipped zcream (who even serves that these days?) He said that we HAD to try his #1 selling item from the whole menu before we left. We tasted, and learned why it had reached that status. Good in appearance. Perfect in creation, Superb in taste. Kudos by the bucketful to Damon, Matteo, and the rest of the staff who helped this Birthday Bash be warm & fuzzy and highly enjoyed. If you haven't yet. She also accommodated my friend, who is very picky which is partially why the pepper and the honey is separated in our appetizer and why her sandwich that is unpictured has no tomatoes or mayo. He was very kind and understanding about it! I thoroughly enjoyed my Panini, and devoured the whole thing. I loved the lemon rosemary mayonnaise, and that you can actually taste the citrus. Wow!
