I originally found Uncle Moe's from Groupon.com. It seemed like a decent deal and brought in my printed groupon. I was informed by the employee who apologized and said that the owner of Uncle Moe's was no longer accepting Groupons (owner didn't like the specific deal published) and recommended that I request a refund from Groupon. I had already taken the time to drive down here, so I opted to buy a pizza anyways. It seemed shady that the owner didn't accept the groupon anymore, but the employee who seemed like a manager was nice enough (he seemed to take his job seriously and wanted to make a good pizza to our specifications.) He made our pizza with a well done crust like I requested. It was pretty good. I would give our first visit 4 stars. ____ On a recent Sunday night when we had out of town guests over, we decided to call in a pizza order for two pizzas around 7 pm. They close at 8 pm. The female who answered the phone said that they were closing up the kitchen soon. We were confused as to whether or not they were still open till 8 pm. So we asked if we should still place an order for pizza to be picked up whenever they were ready. She reluctantly said, "Yes." Geez, if you don't want to make pizza then just tell us and we'll order from somewhere else... and save us the trouble. We ordered two large specialty pizzas (Railroad and California Chicken) with well done crusts. We sent two people to pick up the pizzas and it seemed like the owner and his family were all there hanging out, waiting for the shop to close. The nice guy who seemed like the manager last time wasn't there this time. We probably picked up the pizzas around 7:35 - 7:40 pm. The pizza was totally different from our first visit despite ordering the same pizzas. The pizza crust was disappointingly pale and very soft. We should've realized they were closing 15 minutes prior to placing our order through Eat24... With that said, lesson learned to never order from a place that is about to close. tl;dr Food is average but a bit odd. Not the greatest pizza ever. Nice people. We ordered a sausage / x cheese, a Hawaiian (bacon, ham, pineapple) and an order of wings. arrived before expected. Driver was super polite and presented us with a bottle of sprite that we didn't order because they ran out of wings. Took the wings off the bill, gave us a consolation prize, so all good. Nice guy. Food was very fresh. Crust is thick. No options. I thought it was a bit bready, but if you like that kind of thing, no quality issues there. We ordered Italian sausage...what was on our pizza was sliced sausage of some sort, but it didn't really taste like Italian sausage...kind of hot doggy. The bacon and ham were pretty low quality. The ham was "buddig" like, and the bacon seemed fake. Again, maybe it's just their spin on it, but it wasn't as expected, or very good to us. Both pizzas had plenty of cheese. The sauce was pretty much standard pizza sauce. Overall, it seems like they did everything on purpose (except ran out of wings) and the food was well prepared. Unbelievable! I placed an order at 7:48pm this evening for a pizza and salad to be delivered and was told it would be here within the hour! I have called the business since 9pm trying to get an eta on the delivery and business not answering their phone and goes to "memory is full" after many rings. It's now after 10:00pm and nothing! Yet, our visa was charged! Worst service ever! I am visiting Modesto and thought this would be a great place to try since the food looked great! NOT!!! Was skeptical on going due to the area but after seeing all the amazing reviews I had to give This place a try and I'm so glad I did. So Awesome 5 stars all around. Stopped in to get some lunch with the family and had some amazing food in a really nice atmosphere with some really good people. Justin and the other gentlemen helping prepare are meal were top class chefs with outstanding customer service skills, made the whole experience, me and my family will be sure to come back. All the dough, produce and nearly all the ingredients are from local producers and businesses and they taste amazing, some of the freshest tasting vegetables I have ever had. The pasta tasted and was in fact real homemade noodles and sauce, it was all just so delicious. I can't get over how good the pizza was, it is on comparable to any of these local pizza chains, its fresh real pizza hand crafted to perfection. Talk about a diamond in the rough! Decided to give this place a try after reading all the rave reviews. While the lo-cal is a little...industrial, shall we say....please don't let that stop you from giving this place a try! For a first take we tried the farm fresh pizza & a Greek salad. The small pizza was more than enough for two as was the large salad. Everything was super fresh & tasted amazing. You might have to wade through a cloud of smoke (from the neighboring bar and/or tattoo shop patrons), but like all good things it's with the trial! read more

This place delivers delicious pizza and wings on a blustery night! Seriously delicious! We ordered the Railroad with some BBQ wings. I think the meat on the Railroad was hand cut. None of those little thin pepperoni or sausage slices. It had big hunks of meat with great sauce and amazing crust even after sitting! Their wings are meaty and super tender! We could have paid the same for a chain pizza with less quality. This is a great place for great pizza, wings, and the delivery man was very polite. I am a pizza lover and expert. Within 50 miles radius from contract Costa County where we live, my family and I have been dining at just two pizzerias out of the hundreds that we have tried over the last three decades. Uncle mos Pizza ranks up there. So delicious. Ingredients are so fresh. The crust is too good, the sauce is to die for, and the portion of topics is spot on. I want to love this place. I really do. When they are on their game, they are really on it. Every time I order from here, my delivery is late. As I write this, it's an hour late. That is after I was called by the restaurant once my order was placed and told it would be an hour. Once they were late and told me the next time I ordered, I would get 15% off. It never happened. The food was very good and the delivery was prompt, we will be ordering from here agin. The only 2 minor things were next time I will ask for extra sauce on the pizza and some of the cheese was stuck on the lid of the box. First off I love that they deliver! I am always sceptic on trying new places however I am so happy that I did! The garlic bread (I got no cheese however it is offered) was so good I wish I would have ordered more to be delivered; the fresh garlic they use really makes a difference. Burgers are a good size and their chicken strips are tender and crunchy, and the genius behind putting pepper with the salt on the fries really compliments the flavors. This was my first experience with this restaurant. I hadn't realized prior to placing my order that the place is located all the way across town. Order was placed at 2:33 and I received a notification saying the ETA for my delivery was 3:18. Given the distance, I figured it might be a little later. However, I didn't receive my order (small pizza, garden salad) until 40 minutes past the ETA. The delivery girl was really nice and luckily I just ordered for myself so it could have been worse. The pizza was pretty good, I really liked the thick crust. The salad wasn't too impressive, which to be fair is partly what happens when you order a basic garden salad, but it was missing the dressing I had ordered. Basically, if you like hotdogs on pizza, this may be your spot. Our pizza was pretty much slap-jobbed together. The "italian sausage" was, in fact hotdogs. I also made the mistake of ordering the cheesy garlic bread. Picture yourself going by the grocery store and picking up a frozen garlic bread baguette. I have to update my review. I ordered a Hawaiian pizza and 12pc wings at 4p on a Sunday night. It's 6:25 and my order has been delivered. Eric, one of the managers just delivered my order free of charge. I have to say that's absolutely amazing for a company to do in this day and age. I was so impressed by the service and quality of food with my first order it was quite the disappointment for this order, however, after 2 1/2 hours waiting and Moe's offering free dinner for my family because of the inconvenience I will remain a loyal customer. Everything was really bland with not much flavor. Fettuccini and lasagna both were lacking major spices. The jalapeño poppers were also very bland, cheese and jalapeño, no extra seasoning to give it flavor. We ordered delivery and it took a little over an hour which is super long. Saying that I really really liked this pizza. I already bookmarked it and will be my new pizza place.
