It's been a couple of years since we last ate at Sultan's Kebab, but thanks to an Uber Eats promo,…read morewe decided to give them another shot last week. One order turned into two orders in less than a week, so clearly, things escalated quickly.
My spouse ordered the spicy lamb shawarma wrap and loved it. The lamb was tasty, and the spice had just the right kick to keep things interesting. I went with the chicken kebab platter, which came with FOUR skewers of big, juicy chicken cubes. Seriously, those chicken chunks were delicious!
My platter came with rice, pita, hummus, and a side salad. The rice and kebabs were so satisfying that I was too full to give the pita and hummus the attention they deserved. Sorry, pita. Maybe next time. The salad dressing, on the other hand, wasn't our thing, so unfortunately, the salad didn't make the cut.
Naturally, we returned last night because apparently, one successful kebab night wasn't enough. My spouse ordered the same lamb shawarma wrap (when you know what you like, you stick with it), while I switched things up with the salmon kebab platter. It came with two skewers of generously sized salmon cubes. The salmon was a little dry from grilling, but still tasty overall.
I also ordered an individual lamb kebab and an individual chicken kebab. Both were good, but the meat portions seemed a little on the small side compared with the platters. Which brings me to my biggest takeaway from this whole kebab adventure:
GET. THE. PLATTER.
The portions are generous, the meat is delicious, and you get enough food to make you question whether you really needed that pita and hummus after all. The individual kebabs just didn't feel like as good a deal.
Two orders in one week, and Sultan's Kebab has officially made its way back into our regular rotation. Uber Eats may have introduced us again, but the kebabs are what will bring us back.
Five stars for the food, the generous platters, and giving us a very good reason to loosen our belts.
