Alex and his crew were awesome fixed my car in an emergency engine light one. Low oil and other issues and advised to check my cars warranty under powertrain as I have a leak. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. Thank you to the crew read more

Took my car for smoke check the tech did not say anything to me and I did not get a check to talk to any of the employees as they were horsing around! At the end someone waved at me to come to him to pay and when I say I have a coupon he told me is not valid because I was supposed to show it when I arrived, I said I did not get a chance to talk to any of you and he said sorry but we can't use it now. Bad service I was not told why my car did not pass smoke check. I was told I need it to pay more. My mistake for trying to save a few dollars never again I will go there, my 4 vehicles will go someplace else I pull into garage and tech just took my paperwork and that's how he knew I need it a smoke chEck. I did not get a chance to tell nobody I had a coupon so make sure the employees know you have a coupon or they Wii's not honored the discount read more

They don't do smog checks on Saturdays..... you know the day most people are able to come in.

I've known Rick for years. Recently I purchased a car from a tow yard to drive as a commuter. I took the car to the dealership. They quoted me $20,000 to make the repairs. I took the quote to Rick and he laughed. Many of the things the dealership suggested we're not even required. You can always trust Rick and his crew to do a great job and be honest which is hard to find these days. If you need service for your car, definitely give them a try. read more

Went to the Carson location randomly at 3pm on a week day. My car (2021 KIA K5) was due for an oil change and tire rotation and I've passed by this place a few times and decided to give them a call. They informed me that there was a small wait and even gave me a quote over the phone for the service I asked for. When I arrived they got to me within 5-6 minutes and by the time I got comfortable and looked up my car was ready. My car drives good as new and I will be bringing my second car in for service (decided to wait two weeks to be sure the service was done correctly). I also liked that they recommended other services but didn't push the sale on me. I'm not sure why other women felt like they were pushy because I honestly got the opposite. I had two mechanics that took time to educate me so I could make the decision for myself. By the way the quoted price was exactly what I paid so I wasn't hit with any surprises in the end. read more

I liked my experience here. I brought in my $60 coupon and my own oil filter for a synthetic oil change. You see the horror stories on TV of shops trying to rip you off with unnecessary work. I went there thinking I probably get out of there paying twice my $60 coupon. I was waiting for the sales pitches for extra work, but they said everything looked good and I was on my way. Alex and crew was friendly and professional. They could have gotten me when I asked about a transmission oil change. Alex said, it is a relatively new car and the transmission oil, which is probably synthetic, will not have to be replaced until 100K miles. I knew then I can trust these guys. No pressure, friendly, honest, they have a clean work area and did quick work. I recommend this shop. read more

Definitely will never come here again. Their advertisement said complete auto care. I asked them to check everything and they were very rude. I got an oil change and it took around 10 minutes, I sat in the waiting room, no said it was finished and when I asked about a diagnosis they just shunned me. I drive an older passenger van I guess they thought it wasn't worth dealing with. So disappointed with the service. read more

The best place to get your car lubed up. Been going here for years ever since they moved from the 76 gas station down the road! Whether it's an oil change, transmission oil change, coolant flush etc they have taken care of my car, in a timely manner and prices are always fair! I always leave happy and no engine check light on after the work is done! The manager, Alex and Josh are great people who run this place! Highly recommend for all your car needs. read more

Poor Service. Lack of communication skills and customer service. Smog check worker does not know ARB codes nor will he communicate to you any concern he has over an installed part. He will fail it without your knowledge even if the part does not require an ARB EO code. They are just here to collect a paycheck. No pride or passion in their work. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. KCM smog will at least tell you what they want you to repair/change out and not charge you. read more

Really good staff fun guys to talk to you. Great work. Would be nice if they took appointments sometimes you arrive and there's a long wait that's what kept from five stars. read more

South Bay's best in my book. Been a loyal customer since the 1980s when his awesome parents had the business under a different name. Clean and friendly establishment Easy to find location (near the 405 freeway) Customer loyalty discount read more

I have been going to Rick's in Carson for several years. One Toyota Tundra, 2- 4runners and a RV4. All using synthetic oil . Service quick and efficient. I never worry about being sold something not needed. Couple are high mileage cars so need filters replaced at times. I'm shown dirty parts and I know that they come from my vehicle. The workers are respectful. Also clean. Wrong Pereira. Live in Wilmington. Not San Francisco. read more

Tried taking my vehicle to another oil change place and waited two whole hours just to find out that they were unable to complete my oil change due to the shape of my drain plug. Needless to say, I was hesitant to take my car to another local business as I was afraid of getting the same experience. I love supporting local businesses so I decided to take a chance on Rick's Lube Complete Autocare, and I'm so glad I did!! The staff is super friendly, informative, and their service is so speedy! They made sure to keep me updated throughout my service to make sure I knew what they were doing to my car and why. My oil change isn't even done yet and I'm already writing a review because I'm so pleased with their customer service! This will be my go-to place for auto care from now on! Thank you everyone at Rick's Lube! read more

This review is very long overdue. To just simply say first off: This place is amazing!!! My car's oil light came on when I hit a bump one day on my way to work. I checked the oil and it looked good, closed the hood, the light went off and I headed back into work thinking "Problem Solved!" Nah, problem not solved. I drove home with no problem but when I headed hack to work the next day it came back. It was Friday so I drove back home on all the prayers and good vibes I could muster. I took it Rick's on a Saturday afternoon. They closed soon after but because it was the weekend I didn't mind. Monday came and I called them first thing to see what was up. They hadn't checked yet, but called me back within 20 minutes telling me what was wrong. I knew I needed brakes but I had an oil leak that was causing the light to pop on. He gave me the price. I don't know anything about auto so I'm definitely one a mechanic could get over on........& this shop definitely did not do that. They fixed my car well before I normally leave for work and according to many people I've spoken to, for a hell of a deal. I did read that estimates for what I needed are VERY expensive. Rick's gave me an amazing price in comparison. My car runs smoothly and I feel safe. I will definitely return to them in the future. read more

They're very quick and convenient! I went after my morning jog and was in and out in less than 20 minutes. Very friendly staff.

I've been coming here since I had my 1st car. They are fast, efficient and knowledgeable on different types of cars. They quote you fair prices and do an awsome job on what ever they may be fixing . read more

I found this place on Yelp and send them a message asking for price and availability, Rick quickly replied and let me know everything. I went today and was very happy with the service. They helped me right away and pricing was accurate. As I waited in the lobby (about 15 mins) I noticed they had a camera which allowed me to watch as they worked on my car, which I thought was awesome. Also, as I waited I mentioned to an employee that I would be driving back home to Vegas with my kids and he said he would check my tires to make sure they were good, sure enough the needed air so they put it for me. I definitely recommend this place. Honest people! read more

Do NOT take your car here! I went for a simple oil change. The technician failed to properly secure the cover under the car. It FELL OFF when I was on vacation with my grandchildren. AAA initially said it would need to be towed to the dealer to be fixed. Thankfully, the person who came was able to secure it. We were potentially in a bad situation being stranded & needing to deal with car seats, getting to & from the dealer. I then took it to Ricks to point out what happened. The tech took my contact info & said he would give to the owner. There was no call or follow up. Cost $400 to fix what was caused by an oversight by lazy tech after an OIL CHANGE. DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS PLACE FOR ANY REASON! read more

I cam here just earlier this week for a quick oil change and other fluids. They did a a great job of getting me in and out fast but not only were they speedy! They were really nice and courteous and respectful of the current covid situation. But most importantly I felt like they were trustworthy because they didn't try to sell me additional services and just let me go on my merry way! Thank you!!! read more

Seems like this place has a lazy problem from the reviews. Do yourself a favor and go to the one on Sepulveda. Came more then 30mins before closing time and he turned me away when they were working on 1 car. What happened to the 10 minute oil changes??? read more

First time here. They were informative, communicative, quick, got the job done and were very kind. Definitely will be coming here again!

I always take my PT cruiser here. They always get my car done in a few hours depending on what's wrong. The guys are awesome and their work is great. They never try and find other things wrong with your car so they can make more money off you like I've experienced at other mechanics. I would definitely recommend anyone to take their car here. Very friendly, clean and professional !!! read more

I was going here for years for oil changes and repairs. So I was taking my Honda there to get the oil changed for years. During an oil change staff tells me the screw wore out and they would need to put a bigger screw and re-thread the pan. I asked how is that possible? They said they wear out. I never heard that before. So they re-thread it. 6 months later my oil pan is leaking so I go in. They now say I need to replace the oil pan. I got a new one just not there. I was also taking my Suburban there. I get an oil change and the tech tells me he replaced my screw. Keep in mind that they are the only ones that change my oil so if the screw is messed up then they did it. I take it back and they tell me the same thing they told me with my Honda. They need to re thread the pan and put a bigger screw. I explained to them that is exactly what they did to my Honda and since they messed it up they need to replace the oil pan because ultimately that is going to be needed. They continue to say the screw and pan wear out. 2 cars, same problem caused by them. I decide to call the owner Rick, but before I do I call 3 other lube and oil shops and ask them if it is common for the screw and pan to wear out. All of them said no it's not. I myself never heard of that happening let alone 2 cars of the same customer. I call Rick and explain to him the problem. We get into a heated discussion about it. He tells me about how he been changing oil for 30 years and the other ships are wrong. I never questioned his experience but the problem with that is he never changed my oil. It has always been a different kid that I never saw the next time I went. So he says they fixed it and didn't charge me by re threading it. Of course they didn't charge me, they caused the problem. I tell Rick that re threading isn't going to work, just like it didn't work for my Honda. He says he'll give it 2 oil changes and if it leaks they will change the oil pan. So after 2 changes it's my problem. They messed it up and offer me a band aid, which I told him. According to the tech at the shop, the re thread should last. We continue to argue and eventually hang up. 1 oil change later my suburban is leaking with the re thread done. I'm done with them. I'll chalk it up as another loss from this shop. I referred a lot of people and family here but have since shared this with them. This is the first review I have ever wrote and wasn't even going to write this one until this next thing happened. My Dad has been taking his truck there for years also. After a while they told him the same thing. He will need to re thread or replace the oil pan. He went home and went on vacation. When he came back he noticed a huge puddle of oil under his truck. He moved his truck and went under it to check out the problem. The screw only was in half way. He took it out and noticed that they had put a spring around it so when they screw it in it will tighten it more. This is crazy. Rick's was the only place to change the oil on all 3 cars. The oil change history is in the computer and you could see the mileage throughout the years. This is ridiculous. They managed to mess up all 3 cars oil pans. Unbelievable! Like I said this is my first, last and only yelp review. I was accepting my loss and moving on but when this recently happened to my dad, I can't bite my tongue. He will be getting his oil pan replaced but not from them. I'm sure this has not just happened to us and there are several other customers out there who took it up the tailpipe! read more

Hands down the best place to take your car. I've been to quite a few mechanics and have had trouble finding a place that is as friendly, fast, and reasonably-priced as Rick's. I'm going to be honest, I don't know a lot about cars and if you're like me, this place is perfect because they never do work on your car without showing you what it is and explaining why. They don't judge you for not knowing and they are also patient. They also know how to do things right the first time and have even fixed errors made by previous mechanics. This is a smaller detail, but their waiting room is pretty sweet. It has A/C, TV, wifi, a vending machine, a water fountain, a ton of magazines, and a clean bathroom. If your experience with automobile mechanics so far has been that they're expensive, slow, and can't even fix your car the first time, change that and come to Rick's. They take care of everything so you have less to worry about if that "check engine" light comes on. read more

My mom has been a looong time client of Rick's, and I normally go to the dealership. However, my mom had me stop in to get a sound diagnosed. They drove it and gave me a quote for the issues that needed to be fixed. After waiting 1 week, I returned to get the repairs done. The repairs ended up being so economical, and the staff IS HONEST, CLEAN, AND FRIENDLY!!!! NO MORE DEALERSHIP FOR ME!!!!! read more

I've been coming to Rick's since they were at the corner of Carson/Avalon. Reliable service at a fair price!

Coupons don't matter here. They will charge you what they want. If a coupon for a oil change says 29.99. Be ready to pay for 43.99.

These guys were the best! Came in unexpectedly during my lunch hour. My car is 20yrs old and so I had purchased my own parts and needed a shop to do it! For a very decent price they replace the old parts with the new parts I purchased elsewhere! Awesome job! Drove back to work feeling great and my car runs great! Definitely coming back for my next repair! read more

First, don't give that lie of an excuse that you had 6 ahead of us. You had ONE and that vehicle was already just about done. Second, you KNEW we had to get the vehicle smog checked because my father brought in the vehicle 2 days in a row to clear the check engine light that he needed fixed to pass smog check, which you couldn't do the first time. Third, one of your techs, I think his name was Ezekiel (if I'm not mistaken) told my father he would drive the vehicle to get it ready after the repairs and get it smog checked immediately after his drive. He "supposedly" drove the vehicle, but it wasn't ready for the smog check because your diagnostic tool couldn't clear the code. I had to drive it myself, and it was ready. Sounds suspicious. With all that, didn't you think we were trying to get it passed that day? Didn't any sense of urgency or triage come to your mind? Lastly, if you really had 6 vehicles to smog, how was it your other tech had time to do it? I'm a bit surprised you refused to smog check one vehicle, but had time to do 6 vehicles in 45 mins? On another note, please don't pretend to be professional by thanking us for being a long time customer. If you were sincere about your customers service, you would be apologetic for your aggressive demeanor and that of your staff, and not excuses for your lack of customer service. The previous reviews speak for themselves. read more

Passing this place almost everyday on my work route, the curiosity feasted on my brain. I stopped here on a Saturday and got some work done. These guys were done in less than 15 minutes, however, they are overpriced for a simple oil change. I drive a simple, fairly new Nissan Versa that is a 4 cylinder and I was paying nearly 40 bucks for an oil change. Convenient is what this place is, but inexpensive is what this place is not. I overpaid about ten bucks for a quicker lube job. If I had a V8 engine or truck, or had an older car that required higher grade oil, 40 bucks would be a steal. read more

My 1967 Ford Fairlane lost power going down the 405 this friday and I just managed to get it off the HWY before it died. After splitting apart the carb to fix the problem ourself we had to take a short walk over to this place. The guys helped me haggle the price of a short towing and then they quickly fixed the timing on my 351w that was the real problem for the breakdown. I through in a oil change and then continued my drive to Santa barbara with the car fixed for a surprisingly low price. These guys are quick, skilled, and very cool with their customers bringing in cars with a few flaming backfires and having customers that peek over their shoulder while eating pizza to see what they are working on. So if you planning to have a breakdown while cruising the 405, have it breaking down close to these guys. top notch! read more

Rick's Lube Complete Autocare - Pepe changing oil - Auto Repair Near Me - Carson, California

I was in the area and needed an oil change, so I came in. And I got an oil change. And it didn't take very long.

First time there and might not be coming back. I used the coupon 5 dollar off oil change so it was 33.37 total. I knew the windshield washer fluid r was low before I went there. The guy said they would check the fluid levels. The job was done and the same tech guy tells me I need a new cover gasket and crankshaft seal totaling 489.00. And he said the fluids were ok. So it's real odd that they see that and don't see I need windshield washer fluid. So I tell him I'm planning to get another car in a year. I wasn't going to get the other stuff done. I filled the fluid myself. I am not sure but they may be trying to do some flim flam there. The three stars are for being quick. read more

The first time I went here for an oil change on a Saturday afternoon and was told to come back later because the whole staff went to lunch. I found that to be odd and I went to Jiffy Lube instead. A week later, my car was making a noise and I took it to Rick's. There were employees there but no one acknowledged me. They greeted other customers though. I went into the work area and then someone assisted me. My car needed a lot of work and they were professional and efficient. They even gave me a discount. read more
