I want to thank Jay who helped people the day I went. The facility was clean and organized, so I felt very comfortable about coming here. They are next to car wash and a gas station. Also, Stonewood Mall is across the way too. The had coffee and snacks, I loved that they had Kirkland coffee pods, oh heck yea. The waiting area is not huge but enough. Jay was very knowledgeable and helpful; I overheard him helping people out. As far as value, I felt I got a good value, as I was shopping around. I was given a time estimate, and a time estimate if I wanted additional service and they were very good about meeting that. They have made other mistakes like forgetting to plug in my rear view lights again after replacing bulb. Cars are not my area of expertise, so I am careful about how inquire (since I don't know squat). My partner was with me and observed the same. Over talking your customer is always unprofessional. I mentioned it but not sure if my message was received. He was rude and aggressive. David was still patient, knowledgeable and detail oriented. After getting off work on a busy day, I called ahead to make sure they had synthetic 10W-30 in stock since they usually don't. The person on the phone confirmed they did, so I drove over and waited in line for about 45 minutes. When I finally got to the front, they told me they needed to check if they had it, and it turned out they only had blended oil, not full synthetic. Since I had already waited, I agreed. The employee who I believe was the manager had a great attitude and provided excellent customer service, which I genuinely appreciated. Unfortunately, the actual service was a different story. The technician overfilled my engine by about two quarts, and when I pointed it out after seeing the dipstick, he incorrectly told me the level would stabilize once the car was running. Thankfully, a more experienced employee stepped in, acknowledged that the car was overfilled, and removed some oil. Even after all that, the entire process took about an hour and a half, and my car was still left with nearly an extra quart of oil, which I confirmed myself the next day when the engine was cold. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience at the Torrance location.

Pep Boys wanted to charge us over double for the same service! While they performed the oil change, they found a few other issues with our over 20 year old car and provided us with (what we perceive as) fair quotes for the job. Calling to make an appointment seems pretty straightforward and I like that they text with updates. The actual shop is a bit hard to find since it is in a squishy lot with a bunch of other auto repair stores. I really love the overall location because it is smack dab in Old Town Torrance and it is lovely to be able to drop off the car and go get some grub in the area!
