I dropped off my sweater to be dry cleaned after wearing it over the holidays. It came back with a hole by the neckline. When I dropped it off, we looked over the sweater looking for any spots that needed treatment and we would have seen a hole at that time. The thread looked like it had been cut, NOT eaten through by a bug as they would claim. They refused to file a claim and attempted to repair it thus removing the evidence that it was cut. read more

After 6 weeks of calls the corporate office was finally able to locate my jacket in unclaimed items. Bottom line - if you value your clothing, take it some place else. read more

I dropped off 5 suits in April of last year for cleaning. The called and said everything was finished so I pick them all up, everyone of them has shrunk. They say it's not possible with their process and do a "investigation." Nothing is found so they try to "fix" the suits by stretching them. That doesn't work. Oh, by the way this is months and many weeks in between these interactions as they are extremely slow. Finally after failed attempts to fix them they give up and decide not to replace my suits. This was at the END OF DECEMBER. It took 8 months in which I was extremely patient but all I got out of was a refund and 5 ruined suits. Not only was the craftsmanship poor, the customer service was slow and they clearly do not care. Spare yourself the trouble and go somewhere else. I have used Ricks for several years. Toward the end of 2021 I had then launder several of my long-sleeved dress shirts. When I went to wear a white shirt, I noticed it had what looked like a grease stain. I had them redo it, but they said that stain would not come off after treating. It is not wearable as it is. This is something for which they are responsible, but they are not accepting that responsibility. I will not use them again. Consider carefully whether you can trust them to clean your clothes. We've been going to ricks cleaners for 4 years now and at two locations. The clothes come out looking great, however we recently had a bad experience. My husband wears formal attire all week so we would drop off 30-40 items every two weeks. When looking for two items I was given the run round for almost 2 months and at the end was told that the item had been picked up and they couldn't do anything about. Going through their records they were able to find that those two items had not been returned to get dry cleaned since September so there was no way I had them. One thing I do have to say Rhonda the store manager is amazing and tried to do what she could but the case was sent to cooperate. Sad to have to look for another place but I can't trust them with my clothes anymore. read more

They ruined a Dress shirt I bought just before Covid and have worn about 3-5 times. Returned to me with several holes in the sleeve. It took me several days of calling their office, when finally 6 days later, Ian Noble tells me they are not responsible. He said he performed several "test" on the shirt and could not duplicate the holes! Hello, maybe it got caught on something. Ian said something must have been on the shirt when I brought it in, that "reacted' with it being laundered. He refused to refund me the $40 I paid for the shirt. He has lost my business and hopefully yours too. They could care less about their customers and will use whatever excuses to get out of acknowledging they are at fault for any ruined clothes you bring in. Sad to see such dishonest business practice especially at a time when people are struggling. read more

We frequent ricks based on location to our home. The prices are reasonable however the dry-cleaning and laundry is mediocre at best. We often find starch marks and build up in the collars of our shirts. We use med starch so this shouldn't be an issue. When we send back items they are never resolved and credits are not given for the issue. They always tell us it's our fault ie: his deodorant caused an issue or we didn't wash it prior to being laundered or dry-cleaned. There is no customer service set up besides a number to call for their subpar 48 hour policy. Ricks needs to learn to go above and beyond for their customers then maybe their reviews would be a lot better. read more

We tried Ricks Cleaners for the 1st time and we we're pleasantly surprised. My blouses and my husbands shirts came out looking great. The only issue we had was they were NOT ready on the given pick up time. Our ticket pick up time was Tuesday at 5pm I went in on Tuesday at 5:05 pm , I was informed the truck had NOT arrived yet. The young man was very apologetic and informed him it's not his fault he has no control over the company truck. I couldn't wait on the truck so I had to go back on Wednesday during my lunch hour. read more

As one who has had the opportunity to experience dry cleaning services in and outside the US, I can truly say that I have never had a worst dry cleaning experience. Due to my arm length, my shirts have to be tailored and tend to be pricey. Rick's not only lost one of my shirts, but failed to inform us until my wife noticed. After finally acknowledging there was a check missing, their attitude turned flippant and dismissive while not returning calls to resolve our loss. Not until I went off on the Manager, did they begin to meet set callback expectations. They finally agreed to pay less than a third the cost of my shirt citing depreciation reduction with no consultation with me. The check arrived weeks later with my name spelt incorrectly. Terrible customer service! The stunning part was that they included free coupons for future dry cleaning services. I would rather wear dirty clothes than return to this highly unprofessional outlet. read more

I have been a customer of Reid's Cleaners, which is right across the street, for a while now and I decided to try Rick's Cleaners on Gattis School Road because their prices are much better than Reid's and they had a sign in their window that they were voted "Best of Austin 2011." Immediately I noticed a difference walking in the door. There was a strange smell to the shop and I noticed they write all their tickets by hand. At Reid's they have my name in their computer and all my preferences are saved right there. (Although it took them a few visits to get the information correct.) The staff was only one girl by herself, and while she was pleasant, if more than one or two customers came in at once, she would be hard-pressed (no pun intended) to take care of them in a timely manner. I was very happy with the price. I seemed to save nearly half the cost I was used to paying across the street. When I returned to pick up my clothes the lady in front of me had a complaint about a garment and about the smell of the clothes. She said they make her entire closet smell bad. She asked me to smell her freshly "cleaned" clothes and I couldn't tell over the smell of the shop if they smelled bad or not. What I didn't realize is that the smell of the shop was coming off of the "clean" clothes hanging in the shop!! I am not sure if the smell comes from the chemicals they use or from something else, but I have never had anything but fresh and clean smelling clothes from Reid's. After reading the other comments about the smell and how the owner said the problem had been taken care of, and experiencing that the problem definitely still exists, I do not know how the picky people of Austin could possibly have voted Rick's Cleaners the Best of Anything unless price was the only category. I do not think I will continue to use Rick's Cleaners. It may cost more to go elsewhere, but the personalized service and having clothes that don't make you sick to walk into your closet are completely worth it! read more

The customer service, or lack there of, is AWFUL. I walked in to pick up my belongings, no one else in the store, and the employee completely disregaurded that I was there and said she'd be with me "in a few minutes" and proceeded to continue with what she was doing. Obviously more important than dealing with the customer. I paid to have two queen size comforters cleaned and when I returned to pick them up, one was in the same exact condition as when I dropped it off. They did NOTHING to improve my comforter. I asked if I could get a refund because I was very unhappy and apparently, they don't issue refunds. Shoulda known that when they made me pay when I dropped the comforters off. Horrible Customer Service - Please file your complaints with the BBB MY COMPLAINT to the Better Business Bureau concerning Rick's Cleaners: Case Description: TWO of my shirts were returned with slight tears on the backside of the forearms. I returned the shirts and suggested they take a look at the shirts and determine how we might rectify this situation. The shirts were returned with a photo copied article from the International Fabricare Institute explaining how the manufacture was to blame for their dying process. What are the chances of TWO DIFFERENT MANUFACTURES (IZOD and Calvin Klein) producing poor quality shirts that tear in the exact same shirt location at the exact same time? Rick's Customer Service (Barbara) did not have a good explanation and asked me to send the shirts back again. The shirts were returned with a different photo copied bulletin from the International Faricare Institute explaining the life expectancy of shirts. The holes were much larger because they "tested" the shirts by putting their fingers in the holes and making them larger. Now, the shirts are beyond repair. This does not make sense either. How can TWO different shirts age to the point of tearing at the exact same time (in the same place) under the care of Rick's Cleaners? BUSINESS RESPONSE from Rick's Cleaners to the Better Business Bureau: Mr. XXXXX's shirts have been laundered far past the life of the shirts. Shirts that are laundered and have starch have a limited lifetime. The shirts wear out from starch and the hot water they laundered in. When shirts are worn out, you lay it down on the counter and put your fingers on either side it and will tear with no effort. This is what happened with Mr. XXXXX's shirts. The material is deteriorated when this happens. If I can be of further service, please feel free to contact me. But, if you consider the actions of Rick's Cleaners I believe you'll find a company doing everything possible to avoid responsibility for their negligence at the expense of providing reasonable customer service. Here's why: First, I have TWO DIFFERENT SHIRTS that were torn in the exact same location (underside of the forearm). Is that coincidence? I do not think so. I think it was faulty equipment during the pressing of the shirts since the shirts were torn in the same place at the same time. Second, Rick's Cleaners initially said the tears were the result of the manufacturing and dying process. How can that be the case when the shirts were manufactured by TWO DIFFERENT MANUFACTURES? Is this coincidence? Perhaps a very gullible person would believe this could happen. Third, when Ricks realized I would not accept a very poor excuse for damaging my shirts, much less poor customer service, they then said the shirts are over worn. I work in a professional setting and always dress well - I'll be the first person to donate old clothes to charity when they are no longer wearable. After reading the horrible customer experiences on the internet I realize I'm not alone. I posted my complaint the same day I submitted it to the BBB. I've received several responses from people who said they were planning to use Rick's Cleaners but decided not to do so after hearing my story. I'm sure this will cost Rick's far more in lost revenue than the cost of reasonable customer service. I will also ask those who had a similar experience to file a complaint with the BBB. Rick's Cleaners does not deserve to carry the BBB seal if my experience is any indication of the norm. The BBB seal, which is prominently displayed on their website, is a slap in the face to respectable businesses who carry the same seal. read more

I have been here 1 other time due to proximity to my house. I had suits, dress shirts and a few authentic football jerseys and 2 authentic basketball jerseys dry cleaned. Today when I came in to have a couple of jerseys dry cleaned, I was told it's not something they do, and it wasn't something they did before which was a complete and utter lie. I have no problem with policy, it's the consistency of policy being enforced that is maddening. Train your people to give the correct answers every time, otherwise you wind up with unhappy customers who will not only never do business here again, but they will tell their friends not to either. I've had the worst experience with Rick's Cleaners. I've used these people for years. But will never again. My husband brought three pairs of pants into the Gattis School Rd location. He was specific in pants not having creases. I go to pick the pants up, all three are creased. I advise the guy at the register they should not be creased. He sends them back. I go to pick them up. The jeans are missing, because he put them in as a redo for a "shirt", the other pair is still creased; the third pair has been flat ironed but crease is still visible. Jeans are LOST for three weeks, while I'm being called by the manage to follow up. These were a brand new pair of jeans; total cost $74, worn once for 2 hours. I finally receive a claim form regarding the jeans. I get a call about a week later saying they have found the jeans. I said fine but the jeans are ruined due to having a permanent crease. She says she has to send them to the main office for review. I call the main office an speak with some girl, who was RUDE and told me someone would get back to me. I still have not gotten a return phone call. I recvd a check in the mail for $49. Jeans were $74 brand new; told the rude girl we could provide the receipts showing the amount and date of purchase.....I'm done with Ricks after the ruining of not one but three pairs of pants and the customer service. We have a business and would never treat our customers the way we were treated by these people. I'm part of a huge networking, so I've been telling everyone I know and I'll also be posting it on all of my social media accounts. I'll stick with Tide, may cost a dollar more, but the service, and professionalism is worth it all......YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! read more

This location can't explain why two pair of my pants are missing. One pair were to have alterations and the other dry cleaned. I've tried for two weeks to find out the status and no one at this locations knows what the hell is going on. I think I've heard three or four sorry ass excuses and was told one time to call the location on Cameron Rd to find out the status. I was also told twice that the store manager would call me and I have yet to receive a call. So, tomorrow, I'm going to go buy two new pair of pants and give the receipt to RICK'S CLEANERS for reimbursement plus the money they owe me for the two items I paid for but no longer have. For the first time in my life living in 4 US States and abroad I had to fire a dry cleaner. I bought a home in Round Rock in July 2016. I went to Rick's cleaners twice based on proximity to my home without reading Yelp reviews. Shame on me!! My first experience when I dropped off my business shirts, I was surprised to see a dry cleaner who wanted pre-pay. I have never experienced pre-pay. Do they not stand by their service? When I picked up my shirts I noticed the collars were are still dingy after I specifically asked then to please pay attention to the collars. Also the sleeves end were also still a little dirty. My belief is to give a second chance, After the second drop, Rick's lost one of my Hawaiian shirts. It took 6 trips by me and by a friend to find status. After 5 weeks Rick's acknowledged the shirt was lost. I went in and filled out the appropriate form. It is 2 months later and nothing!! Also after the second pickup the sleeve buttons on many of my long sleeve shirts were missing, broken or cracked in half. My experience after only using Rick's twice has been abysmal! I took two comforters to Ricks and one of them came back and it smelled kinda weird. Not fresh just weird and it didn't even look clean. I mean really just didn't even look washed. I have been a customer at Ricks Cleaners on Gatti School Road for approx six years. Four years ago I moved to Hutto and tried a couple of the local cleaners NONE of them matched the customer service that the Manager Valerie and her staff provide at the Gatti School location. The last 4 years I have traveled out of my way just to be provided with exceptional service from Valerie and her staff . The one to two times there was a problem it was resolved in a timely fashion. This dry cleaner made me very sad. It is incredibly close to my home and very inexpensive, but after trying them out 3 different times I just can't use them. Every time I pick up my clothes they smell worse than when I dropped them off. They simply smell like old, dirty laundry; like they were never cleaned at all. Know how you walk into Goodwill and the smell of rank unwashed clothing hits you in the face? That is how this store location smells and it is how my garments smell when I picked them up. I kept hoping it was just a bad batch, but after multiple visits, I have decided to pay full price elsewhere so I can have my clothes truly professionally cleaned and wearable. read more

If I could have skipped the stars I would have. Brought a suit and several shirts in to be cleaned and got the suit back with missing buttons and a shirt back with a stain. Items were picked up late on a Saturday, packed for a business trip and taken out on Monday only to find these issues. Took everything back the following Saturday as they were closed when home from business trip on Friday and was told there was nothing they could do about the issues because it was over their 48 hour window. Even called corporate and they told us they might fix the buttons, but wouldn't guarantee that they'd match what was already on there. Not to mention that the young lady that we spoke to was very rude. Funny though that another time I was in there they were on the phone with a customer who had a custom made shirt that had been lost and Rick's was going to pay them like $150 for the loss. I guess there's a reason why their prices are so much lower than other cleaners in the neighborhood. Guess I'll go back to the cleaners we were using before. read more
