My family and I were going to start using this place regularly for maintenance and repairs of my car but the attitude I got has made me put them out of consideration for future business.

Louie is incredibly kind, efficient and has never tried to upsell me on anything that wasn't necessary. When I needed two new tires (after an inspection he did) he recommended the best shop around (across the river) for alignment and my goodness he was right. Never has my car driven so well and it's quite old! This is a testament to good referrals. They go a long way. I would 100% recommend this shop! FYI: I lived a few blocks away when I first found him and have since moved to a neighboring town but go out of my way to come back. Worth it

I was looking for a place to bring my mercury grand marquis, Close by to me where I live in…read moretillson. I see that this shop was only about 10 minutes away. In fact I had passed it many times over the years. On the way to Stone Ridge. I called up and the lady who answered the phone was very friendly. She asked for all my information. She did ask for my license plate number. Then she was able to look up the year and make and model of the car. I was impressed by that. They seem to be very thorough right away. I told her I needed them to look at the front tires because there was a A vibration from the front tires and some noise coming from the front tire also. I had brought it to a shop down in Rockland County to put on new tires after I got a blowout. I came in and they pull the car into the shop area. One of the employees Kevin introduced himself. He offered me some coffee and showed me in the area where they had a couple of comfortable seats donuts potato chips and some other snacks Soon after they pulled in the car they called me back to take a look at it. Nick the head mechanic had the car up on the lift. He told me that the other shop didn't balance the wheels at all or did them in properly in the front. He also told me that the shop lied when they said that the sensor from the tire had fallen off the front tire and they glued it back on. In fact they broke the sensor when they were doing something with one of the front tires. Instead of cleaning out the tire they left all the junk inside the tire So Nick cleaned it out and balanced the tires .Then another employee took the car for a test drive to make sure everything was OK. I was definitely pleased with thoroughness of the work. The car was coming up on needing to get transmission fluid changed and also the other fluids. Brake fluid Power steering fluid etc. New fuel filter. I made an appointment and brought the car back. Since I live only about 10 minutes away they said they were able to drive me home. Then when the car was done called me and picked me up again. Nick the head mechanic and owner is very knowledgeable and really gave me some good tips on what I should get done and not get done on the car. For example they said that the rotors were warping a little bit, but the brake pads were still good,said to not doing anything yet. I'm sure other shops would've told me, to do the brake pads and rotors. I definitely had a fantastic experience bringing my car here. Nick Kevin and another technician I talked to really know their stuff. Very knowledgeable professional thorough. The prices are very fair as well. Actually lower than I expected them to be. I definitely highly recommend this shop for all your car needs

(Some car places have scorned how a female could know about carwork, but never here; in the past Mark has even said save money - you can fix this! And Eli is a fellow Dodge Dart fan, not that I have one any longer, sob sob). We go to them for advice on new old cars (last year we asked where we could find another Subaru Legacy, and they pointed across the street at the car they had just fixed - "there". Easiest search we ever had!) Combine this with being in walking distance, and we hope they never close!

I got the inspection done today and the experience was great. Jay, one of the owners, welcomed me to the shop, very friendly. I sat in the waiting area after they started the inspection. There was another customer there and we started chatting. He couldn't praise the guys there enough. This other customer and I started lamenting how a lot of businesses don't provide the same customer experience we were use to from when we were younger (yes, bunch of old guys lamenting the world is going to...) and he said J&J is one of the exceptions. Jay showed me some additional concerns on my car...brake and tire wear. He showed me the problem areas and said I have some time left but these expenses are coming down the pike. It was refreshing to see this sales approach...I was aware he was upselling the other services they offer and I was totally happy with that...that's what all businesses must do. It was the approach, education, and showing me why the repairs would be needed that convinced me that when I need the work to be done, I will go to Jay and his team. Well done guys and keep it up! PS: they have the cutest wall of kids pictures that puts a smile on your face.

Manny hears the groan, does a long intake cleaning, blasts out a lungful of black sludge. Kathy said the smoke was everywhere. Now it purrs. SIts at red lights calm, like it's done fighting the leash. This after two other shops just poked around and shrugged. Front end went crooked after that. Kathy explains it's a busted strut, leaking transmission. Manny fixes it. Makes a part himself. I take it on the highway. Straight as a rail, smooth as glass. Saw I was going 85 and thought the speedometer was off. No, just my car, shaking off the years. Moving out of Beacon soon, but I'll still come back.
