Sauce is not to my liking because it's so sweet . Next time I'll get it on the side. The ribs and chicken were good. I'll like to try the other location in little Italy to make a comparison before saying that I won't return. I have had better .

One of the chicken breasts, I didn't eat them. The wings were not fried hard the way I wanted. I threw the skin away on the wings

I tried Rickette's on Taylor St for the first time this evening. I ordered a 4 pc white (2 breasts, 2 wings, fried hard, with salt pepper and mild sauce and I ordered a small rib tip. 1 didn't finish either order. I was THOROUGHLY disappointed when I tasted the food. I'm not trying to bash the establishment I'm just giving my reaction to the food I received. First of all the chicken wasn't fried hard at all, the skin WASN'T crispy and had very little batter, no salt or pepper. I HATE loose skin on chicken, that chicken should've been cooked 20 minutes longer so that it would've been crispy, the skin was soft and loose. The fries were thin, frozen type, not tasty and scarce, not many came with the order, I could count how many I got. The mild sauce was thin and there was so little on the order it didn't cover any of it, it was flavorless. The rib tips tasted baked or boiled, I know ribs well and the rib tips didn't taste like they were cooked on a charcoal grill at all. The chicken & rib tips didn't taste like they had much seasoning. I got there around 6:30p and it was a 30 minute wait (they said 20 min.) If it wasn't so late I would've taken the food back for a refund. I saw reviews on TikTok about Rickette's, that's why I wanted to try it, maybe their other locations are better, the one on Taylor gets an F grade and it's one and done, I won't go back there.

Great food at reasonable prices, it's conveniently located near me and I am a regular customer.

First timer, I ordered rib tips which were tough, burnt and hardly any meat on it. The chicken wings were just ok served with a few fries. Decent customer service however I will not be returning.

Really good wings with mild sauce. I don't hear enough about this place. Some believe it's better than Harold's.

We were there on Friday, so the fish and chips were all-you-can-eat. So crispy on the outside and flakey on the inside. So yummy. The chips were crispy and paired perfectly with the fish splashed with the malt vinegar. The green peas were good, but my favorite was the Stovies. If you've never had proper Stovies, this is your chance to try them. Potatoes and onions with bits of roast kind of like mashed potatoes or a very thick stew. So yummy. They also have an extensive drink menu.

Whiskey fans, you'll love the huge selection along with the impressive beer selection. Yelp should really hype this as a whiskey bar, too. It more than qualifies. The cuisine is phenomenal. Definitely a place to bring a large party on your first visit, so you can sample a multitude of wonderful creations. Pro Tip: if you can tolerate a large quantity of fish, visit on a Wednesday for their AYCE Fish & Chips. I've had many hum drum AYCE dinners that are drab and only fill you up. Not this one. It's a great meal and a great deal. The Shepherd's Pie was fabulous, as was the Bangers and Mash. They've created a Haggis Burger that has to appease Americans, yet, still be haggis. A tall order since most would hate "true" haggis. Fear not, it's not your grandfather's haggis, it is a tasty burger. The fries were great but I'd recommend the Tattie Skins. We tasted so many different malts it was hard to pick a favourite. No foolin' they had island malts, highland malts, speyside and even a couple from the lowlands. Easy to spend over two hours in this public house. We did. Can't wait to get back to this town. This is a must! 02/26

The mushroom and kale pie was nice and cheesy and the rocking vegan pie was more savoury, with a variety of vegetables and chickpeas as stuffing. The crust was neither too soft nor too crunchy. The highlight of the meal was the curry chips: potato wedges lightly fried with masala and curry leaves. The dipping sauce that came with the chips reminded me of tikka masala sauce, and paired beautifully with the chips. Dessert was toffee pudding: the caramel sauce that came with the pudding was delectable - the pudding itself was excellent and not overly sweet. We tried a variety of NA beers, and I was pleased with how many options they had. Service was quick, and we were well looked after. The ambiance is warm, with dim-ish lighting and a lot of dark wood. The restrooms were gorgeous - special shoutout to the lovely floral wallpaper. Overall, I highly recommend Pleasant House - the vibe is chill and understated and the food is stellar.

The sausage was very tasty, the breading on the outside was incredibly crisp, light, and the egg inside was cooked well. Both the steak pie and the chicken pie were very good. The chicken pie I think really needed the chutney that you can get separately. But that made it so much better and made it my preferred pie. The steak and ale pie was better than the chicken pie as a standalone, but needed a bit more gravy I think to elevate it. Sticky toffee pudding again was delicious. Surprisingly light, not overly dense so I was glad it came with the custard which was very flavorful. Overall, will definitely return!

Vicente and Michael were so personable and were not annoyed with all of my questions! What was really impressive, however, was that I only had a couple of dollars for a tip. Michael was so understanding and told me that it is even better when customers are kind and friendly. He seemed to have been perfectly fine without getting a tip, even after spending several minutes helping us figure out how to order! I was very impressed!
