I will say, that at the time of my visit, there were high school students that were perhaps loitering. After overhearing some of their conversation I felt a bit uneasy. The place could use more security. Otherwise my food was delicious. The chicken was fried hard and they put extra seasoning without me having to ask. I believe they even threw in an extra piece of chicken, not sure if that was intentional or not.

Typical with urban fast food chains, it's at times "hit or miss" and like Harold's Chicken, it all depends on who is in the kitchen and their expertise. This J&J consistently gets it right. I get wings and fish-jack salmon/whiting and perch and cat at times, and it's cooked right, flavorful but you must ask for heavy lemon pepper if desired. They are lenient with the mild sauce and slaw, and cashier and cook staff are pleasant, knowing me by face and they speak and smile kindly. Hate to bring race into it, but other joints don't tend to appreciate the African American culture when they are Arab or Palestinian but this location, I don't get that voice be. Highly recommend! Place is clean and love the see thru kitchen

And my meal didn't come with ANY cole slaw, she said it doesn't with the small order, but that not what MENU show, it saids ALL DINNERS SERVED W/FRIES, COLESLAW & BREAD, I guess the bread is referring to the breaded bread fish,, what a ripoff... Not to mention the cook was all in the conversation making sure my two sodas were paid for not to mention he is the one that took my order. When I arrived at the restaurant, I walked in alongside a gentleman who was heading toward the back. I asked if he worked there, and he kindly said yes. I explained the situation to him, and without hesitation, he immediately accommodated me. I was very impressed with his professionalism and customer service. This was my first time eating from this restaurant, and to my surprise, both the service from Mr. Law and the food were exceptional. He truly made a frustrating situation into a great experience. I will continue to support this resturant.

Make note, not sure if their system is setup properly to provide refunds but that is a major concern for an upstart. This place is/was promising but I personally dislike a badly written/price menu than buckle and dime customers. Make the jerk rice bowl $12 w/chicken. Problem solved. Besides it was a bit too spicy. Two stars because they at least made up for the discrepancy however, I'm leaving the review for my own temperament so that I know what I'm willing to put up with if I ever revisit. I really didn't like all of the background talk about why I wanted to switch my order. Just simply switch customer orders without having to hold a conference, eye rolling, and nasty attitudes. I get it that it's family-owned but please invest in some customer service training for the young lady at kiosk or hire someone with some experience.
