Located in the Austin neighborhood of Chicago, Rib Palace brings some tasty chicken wings. I had a 6 piece with fries. 4 out of 5 stars.

We were there on Friday, so the fish and chips were all-you-can-eat. So crispy on the outside and flakey on the inside. So yummy. The chips were crispy and paired perfectly with the fish splashed with the malt vinegar. The green peas were good, but my favorite was the Stovies. If you've never had proper Stovies, this is your chance to try them. Potatoes and onions with bits of roast kind of like mashed potatoes or a very thick stew. So yummy. They also have an extensive drink menu.

Whiskey fans, you'll love the huge selection along with the impressive beer selection. Yelp should really hype this as a whiskey bar, too. It more than qualifies. The cuisine is phenomenal. Definitely a place to bring a large party on your first visit, so you can sample a multitude of wonderful creations. Pro Tip: if you can tolerate a large quantity of fish, visit on a Wednesday for their AYCE Fish & Chips. I've had many hum drum AYCE dinners that are drab and only fill you up. Not this one. It's a great meal and a great deal. The Shepherd's Pie was fabulous, as was the Bangers and Mash. They've created a Haggis Burger that has to appease Americans, yet, still be haggis. A tall order since most would hate "true" haggis. Fear not, it's not your grandfather's haggis, it is a tasty burger. The fries were great but I'd recommend the Tattie Skins. We tasted so many different malts it was hard to pick a favourite. No foolin' they had island malts, highland malts, speyside and even a couple from the lowlands. Easy to spend over two hours in this public house. We did. Can't wait to get back to this town. This is a must! 02/26

My cousin and I split the fish and chips, and it did not disappoint. The fish was perfectly cooked with a light, crispy batter, and the fries paired well with it. We finished with the sticky toffee date pudding for dessert, which was rich, warm, and absolutely delicious. I also ordered a cocktail--unfortunately I can't remember which one it was--but it was refreshing and complemented the meal nicely. The service was attentive, friendly, and made the dining experience even more enjoyable. Overall, this is a wonderful place if you're looking for classic British fare in a beautiful setting.

Service at the bar was friendly and my food came out surprisingly fast. My fries weren't warm, but I but didn't bother sending them back. Burger was solid, but there are better options in the neighborhood even at this price point. I didn't realize this was a hotel restaurant until I overheard someone charge a tab to their room. Hotel restaurants are rarely good. I would've passed. Not a bad meal by any means though. I live in the immediate area, but probably won't revisit. 2.85 stars mostly for the good service.

I also ordered a side of cole slaw and red beans and rice. The guy behind the counter said they don't have mild sauce for the chicken. Then he told me the sauces that they had, so I said no sauce. I guess he was also relating the sauces for the rib tips when I already said no sauce. They cook the chicken fresh and may take a little time. When I got home, I was ready to dig in but I found out the sauce discussion left my rib tips with no bbq sauce. I called them and a nice lady told me I would be taken care of the next time, I visit. Thank goodness, I had bbq sauce. But I tried the tips without sauce and they were seasoned well. I put on some Sweet Baby Rays on them and dang it was good. The tips were tender and a lot of meat. The chicken was so good that I wish I would have gotten more. It was seasoned and crunchy. The Cole slaw was okay and the red beans and rice was good, just which it had a little more pot liquor. I would definitely go back. Also the prices that they have online is really outdated.
