    Gpan!

A Gpan hot and fresh out the fryer what more can you ask for on a Friday evening. Dont forget to order rolls and a extra large fry. It's a chicken spot nothing to fancy, but the food is worth the drive everytime!!!

So over time prices have gone up, I get it. As of this review they're charging $2+ per wing. Here is my issue: mini wings! I paid $12 for 4 wings and got 3.5 because one was super tiny. Some chicken shacks will compensate for the lack of size by adding an additional mini which is fair. Uncle Remus probably has the best sauce around so it's always a treat to have them but consistency is key. I don't like to feel cheated after spending so much for so little.

You can't go wrong with Uncle Remus! Consistent product over the decades. Good taste and value. I live in the suburbs, but whenever I am in the area, I make sure to order a wing dinner to take home!

Uncle Remus is always tasty. Their sweet, mild sauce is like liquid gold. I ate off of their food truck recently, so I did not visit a physical location, but it was fresh and fast! I also love the crisp of their chicken; you can't go wrong. The service was nice.

This place has changed a lot since it was a hole in a wall where you didn't feel safe walking into. The food is still amazing. If you are looking for a hard fried chicken with good sauce this place is for you. This particular location has gone through a nice renovation and feels new. The service was quick and people were nice. It's good that they have started to update now allowing for online ordering. They are more than just wings but the sauce is what they are known for. Also the icing on the cake was just that. Their chocolate cake made me and my wife want to go back alone.

There's nothing much else to say about Uncle Remus that hasn't been said before. I have now been to all three of their locations and all I can say is consistency. They had excellent customer service at this location. They were very polite and got food done in the amount of time quoted. I ordered their G Pan special. You get 10 pieces of very delicious fried chicken covered in their mild sauce. It's a great deal for about $11. And then of course you also need to order some fries with mild sauce to get along with your chicken. The mild sauce is much sweeter than Harolds, but it doesn't over power the chicken. The chicken is perfectly fried, juicy and tasted very fresh. I've been coming to Uncle Remus for years and I don't intend in stopping anytime soon!

Horrible customer service and chicken recooked, this is the 2nd bad experience there! Heading back now for a refund after work!

My first time coming here and I was impressed with the food. They allow you to sample the food to see if you like it. Which is a bonus to sample before you make your decision to purchase. I ordered the fish fillets which was very delicious and well seasoned Golden crispy and fried well. My sides were the cabbage and beef spaghetti. The cabbage was well seasoned as well. The spaghetti had a funny tasting season that I didn't like. Nice size portion of food for a reasonable price. FYI. No dining area. Order to go only

It was very cozy, not a lot of space and nowhere to dine in, so expect to take the meal to go. Cashier was pleasant and friendly. Everything I wanted was sold out at 5 pm. I settled for the smothered pork chops, Mac and cheese and dressing. Food is packed right in front of you and they are very generous with the portions. My "plate" (styrofoam container) was so heavy it cracked! I was given a second bag to catch spillage. I commented that this would be dinner and probably lunch tomorrow. The cashier and serving gentleman chuckled and agreed. I saw the passion tea and ordered that also. Now, the taste. The pork chops are delicious. Gravy is good, meat is tender and not too salty. They're good size chops, I didn't finish one. Max and cheese is very cheesy. Well seasoned and noodles are firm and not mushy. The dressing is not it for me. It's a little "mealy" and not much flavor. I can taste the sage but it feels undercooked to me. The cornbread muffin is okay. Not as sweet as jiffy mix, but too sweet to be hot water cornbread. I will return and try some other sides. Prayerfully next time they'll have the turkey wings or fried ribs I wanted to try. However the gravy from the pork chops on some mashed potatoes would be heavenly.

The ambiance wasn't quite what I expected, but the service and food made up for it. I ordered the Caribbean stuffed turkey leg, which came with pasta, spinach, a couple of jumbo shrimp, and a turkey drumstick. The dish was flavorful and satisfying overall. My only criticisms were that the spinach was chopped so finely that it was hard to really taste it, and the turkey drumstick seemed smaller than expected. I was hoping for a meatier drumstick, but most of the meat was concentrated toward the bottom of the bone. For dessert, I had a slice of carrot cake, and it was excellent. I would have loved for it to be served warm, but it was still moist, flavorful, and a great way to end the meal. I also tried the fried pound cake, and unfortunately, it was a miss for me. It didn't taste like pound cake, and honestly, it wasn't a very good cake in general. It's not something I would order again. One thing I noticed is that the menu doesn't appear to offer appetizers or salads, which might be something to consider if you're looking for more variety before your main course. Overall, I enjoyed my visit. While there were a few things that could be improved, the stuffed turkey and carrot cake were enjoyable, and I'd be willing to come back and try something else on the menu.

At the time, the restaurant was listed high as I searched for southern food nearest to me. Also, its 4.3 star rating out of 7000+ was the assurance I needed that I would receive quality food. Looking through the menu, the pescatarian in me was drawn to mario's catfish sandwich which comes as either southern fried or grilled farm raised, with the option of either fries or potato salad. I ended up ordering the sandwich in the form of southern fried, with potato salad as my side order. It took twenty-five minutes from the time my order was acknowledged by Uber Eats to the arrival of it at the hospital I work out of. Much praise to the Uber Eats delivery driver, Walter for making that happen at that reasonable time, as well as meeting me at the main entrance of our hospital where I waved confirming that I saw him. And Walter confirmed that it was me grabbing the order, which I cannot thank him so much for. I loved the potato salad! Seeing it seasoned made me curious of its taste which ended up being far from a disappointment; It was by far the best potato salad I have ever had, and that is not exaggeration. Now what I found interesting about mario's catfish sandwich was that it was placed on a hamburger bun rather than a sub-style bun. Even with it on a hamburger bun it was nicely presented inside of a styrofoam container. It was lightly seasoned, topped with lettuce, onion, and tomato! I further added tartar sauce to give it the taste that I love. I really enjoyed mario's catfish sandwich and would consider ordering it again. Being that I had a good ordering experience, I would surely order from Chicago's Home of Chicken & Waffles again whether it be Uber Eats delivery or takeout. The sides were perfect, which again I say they deserve high marks. The highlight dish for me was the Cajun pasta that I ordered with shrimp. This reminded me of the same that I enjoyed in Louisiana. There was the right amount of sauce so that the pasta was not drowning in it. The seasoning was neither salty nor overpowering nor all over the place. Plenty room for seating and spread out enough that people are not all on top of each other. I got there early, so it had not packed out as I'm sure it does later in the day. This place has changed so have realistic expectations. It is cafeteria style (to go) but you can sit down and eat from your styrofoam container. First the online menu was wrong. We were told that they don't have fish on Sundays. Honestly if I knew that beforehand I wouldn't have gone that day. I decided to get fried chicken, greens and dressing with a side of mac and cheese. The chicken was dry, the greens were a lil salty and the dressing was dry but tasty. I wish i had gotten the gravy on the side. The macaroni and cheese was yummy. My guy got the short ribs, greens and string beans. Like the greens the short ribs were a lil salty. The ribs were cooked to perfection. The meat fell off the bone and melted in your mouth. Overall, I would say try it for yourself. If you like things on the salty side this might be ideal. The meals come with a muffin. It was sweet and so soft that it fell apart in your hands. Please note that individual sides are $3.04 with tax which isn't too bad. You also only get one muffin nit two like the website says. I plan to return on a fish day but it probably won't be soon.
