I went over to the service department and found out my car had never even been started . This was an appointment service , 12 pm . It was almost 4 pm when it was ready and all I was told was they didn't know what happened . I am a repeat customer of Richmond Ford West and Richmond Ford , a 20 plus years customer and this is what I get . I bought my 2023 Bronco at a different Ford Dealer because of this kind of service . I took my 2016 Ford Explorer to Richmond Ford West (RFW) for the usually oil change, tire rotation, and car inspection on 2/27/2026 at 7am. I was told the service wouldn't take more than 1.5 hrs. Instead of waiting I went home cause I had a morning meeting. I received a call after 2pm stating my vehicle was ready (thats about 6-7 hrs later). Prior to taking my vehicle their, I had no issues. On 3/8/2026 11:30pm on the way to pick up a friend at the airport, my vehicle stalls and shuts off in the middle of the street. Again I never had an issue with my vehicle and now allofsudden a week later after it seems I may need a new alternator. I dont want to believe there's any foul play but its crazy how I need my vehicle checked out again. I proceed to have my vehicle towed to RFW hours later. I emailed and called the persons that were associated with assisting me the first time letting them know the situation; explaining my concerns of possible foulplay cause of the issues. I know I shouldnt have faslely accuse anyone of foulplay but I know how mechanics and dealerships services dept at times can be unethical. Nevertheless its now 3/11/2026 4:23pm and no persons has seen my vehicle yet. All I kept receiving was a text stating "I am still working to get this into the shop but I will keep you posted." I'm still without a vehicle and they didnt try to offer a loaner or tell me the truth by saying they would work on my vehicle or something. recently buy a Used 2015 ford f150 black ops vehicle on December-9-2023, I feel like everybody should be aware of this issue, Before buying a used truck from Ford West dealership. Before buying the vehicle I was under the impression that everything has been inspected thoroughly, and everything was in good running order no major issues. That could have been as far from the truth, I'm dealing with transmission issues, major oil pan leaks, check engine codes that indicate Control module has failed ,ABS module and Electric steering module and center console GPS screen has failed. After talking to West Ford dealership about the current issues, They did inform , There was a good chance that the work was not going to be under warranty. At that point I decided to just park the truck, I just bought the truck from West ford It's a very disappointing situation. I'm looking at between $8000 to $12000, Of work that will need to be done, that's if the transmission completely goes out. I've been a big supporter of West ford dealerships for a long time now. I just don't understand how this is possible if a vehicle is thoroughly inspected and looked at, it's not hard to see a major oil Pan leak or Use a truck scanner on the truck to look for codes. If Ford West wants to correct this issue, the best thing is to take full responsibility. I parking the truck Only driving it 1200 Miles. I've been coming here for 3yrs. This is the worst service I've ever had. I had a 1045am appointment. An advisor, not mine because mine was busy, told me it would take 45ki to an hour to complete my oil change. It is now 245pm and my car still isn't ready. They text me at 1pm to say hey we found a problem. We need to replace the skid plate and two bolts. I went back to the advisor that helped me and asked what's taking them so long. She said well I'm not your advisor but let me find out. I told her I've been back from breakfast an hour after I dropped my car off. The other advisor comes back and say oh they thought they had enough clips but they didn't so they have to pick them up or they have to get dropped off. When did they ok. On telling me this. I could've made arrangements to get dropped off. My whole day has been ruined because of lack of communication. I didn't even get an apology, a courtesy car or a discount. I liked it, and was ready to buy, wa wa wa... it went downhill from there. The trade amount they offered me for my trade was ignorantly offensive. I get it, it's a wholesale vehicle they'd not keep on their lot. It's wholesale, not even close to what I could get for it if I sold it myself. First and foremost, if you are considering buying a used car here DONT! I purchased a used car from Richmond Ford West. Biggest mistake I made. I understand that the car is used and will not be perfect as a new car. However, in all my years buying a used car, this has got to be the absolute worse. There were several issues we noticed that they agreed to fix. They did. But after having the car a week, I have found so many issues (cosmetic as of now) that I cant believe I paid what I did for the car. The car (they said) was a CPO. They say the car had a 139 point check inspection, then why did the day after I got the car home the radiator fluid was below the minimum line? Because that 139 point check was pencil whipped. Which made me to look deeper. Oil change (that shows at 100% oil life) oil is black, not clean as it should be if it was REALLY just done. Air filter beyond dirty and not new, cabin air filter looks like it was from the year the car was manufactured, filthy. Trim on air vents interior messed up, windshield and drivers door window rock chips, door trim on back passenger door coming off, reverse camera lens scratched, rock chips all over hood, scratched down front panel, drivers and passenger door, dents on passenger and drivers door, some kind of after market button on steering Colum that their "Technician" says is an aftermarket alarm, however car was manufactured with an alarm, another words NO IDEA what that button is for, front speaker blown, scratches across liftgate, water spots on the inside of the instrument panel, advertised with 11,000 Ford pass points, but when asked about it I was told it was TOO LATE to get the points added to my Ford Pass account but would be credited the $50 when I bring the car back there. That will never happen, I can see by the "Technicians" reply on that button and from other reviews I will never return to this dealership. I thought another Ford dealership I delt with was bad, but this dealership makes them look EXCELLENT. I bought a 2020 Ford Ecosport in 2020 at Richmond Ford Lincoln. In December of 2022 the engine died. I took my car to Richmond Ford West to have the engine replaced. I got the car back on 14th of January. The next workday that I worked the car said it was overheating but when you cut the car off and started the car again, the car was back to normal. The Service Advisor told me it probably was air bubbles, and it would more than likely happen again that day. Well 800 miles later, it was still saying the car was still overheating. Took it back the following Monday and 5 hours later they still did not know why this was happening. I drove for another week, and it continued to say it was overheating. The mechanic said it was more than likely the thermostat. I took it back on Monday January 30th and They replaced the thermostat and housing, which cost me another 630.00 on top of the 7800.00 I just paid for the engine. Well here it is February 1 and the car is worse than before they put the new thermostat in. It was only doing the overheating 1 time a day, now it's saying the car is overheating at least 15 times a day. When I stopped by on the 31 of January the service advisor told me I could leave the car and use the Hertz rental car that is located at the dealer. I explained that I was not spending any more money when the car never did that with the original engine. I will be taking it back again on the 6 of February to try and get this issue resolved. read more

It has a scheduler and when I went to make an appointment there were about 10 choices for today. That's great, but I was a bit surprised. The next appointment after that was 2+ weeks away. So they tout a chat feature on their web-site to chat with an agent. Great! I initiate that chat and after waiting I explain I'm asking about an appointment for today. That chat auto-responds that they are not authorized to make appointments unless they are more than 48 hours in the future and I should use the scheduler. Gee, thanks. So I decide to call the Service dept. I explain their own web-site notes they have a bunch of options for today and I'd like to confirm I can bring it in. "Nope, we don't do same day appointments. I don't know why they have that on there." "So do you have time today? We don't do same day appointments." No offer to help schedule anything for the future either. So far, so good! Brought my husband's truck here this morning and was very pleased with the service. They were ready to go right at my appointment time. Once I checked in, I was escorted to the waiting area. There's a nice tv and plenty of seating in one area, and then a private work space area on the side with rolling chairs, long desks, and plenty of outlets. The only area for improvement that I see so far is that they could definitely have better snacks and beverages. I think a nice Starbucks machine that spits out more fancy drinks would up the ante a bit. Additionally, donuts and healthy snack options would be great. It could be that I arrived too late in the morning, but the snack selection was looking quite bare with only a few granola bars. read more

Looking back at my experience, I feel like I was dealing with a bunch of scammers. I'm glad I did not fall for their sales tactic. What raised a red flag was that they were not knowledgeable of the vehicles and they seemed very new to the brand. Day before I get text, they don't have part for recall, take car for AC check and inspection, 8 hours later, only had time for state inspection could not get to AC! They definitely have labor /tech shortage issues, and scheduling is hit or miss mostly a miss. I chose Richmond Ford West for my state inspection because they offered free pick up service. BIG mistake! They told me my car needed a few lightbulbs and windshield wipers. Then they said I needed a new sway bar installed. If I didn't agree to pay them $380, they would put a rejection sticker on my car. They gave me no proof this was a legitimate issue. I've had no trouble with my car and just had it serviced in December at a reputable mechanic shop. I'm certainly sorry I chose to take a risk on Richmond Ford West. I go out to get my car inspected because I had a problem with the airbag light staying on, which was a bad clockspring. I arrive, am serviced fairly promptly, but when I am given the price for a Clockspring repair they told me $380. I know for a fact since I know the problem, I could get it fixed cheaper at another place so I deny service. The mechanic gives a bit of an attitude when I deny service(because I can get it cheaper elsewhere). I get back into my car after they put my steering wheel back together and notice immediately that my car horn was no longer active. I thought that was weird, but then I remembered how the mechanic told me that if I don't replace it, my car horn wouldn't work. It worked before I took it there. Fast forward about a week, I take it to a local mechanic shop and get the clockspring repaired for $280 total with a genuine ford clockspring. The mechanic is talking to me and asking me if I attempted to change the clockspring myself. I said no, and he told me that my AIRBAG and HORN were both UNCLIPPED on the clockspring; meaning my horn wasn't able to function and if I got into an accident, there's a good chance that MY AIRBAG WOULD NOT DEPLOY. Do not go to these people, they are just looking out for themselves. The only reason why I did not go to the news and report this scum of a dealership is because the part is completely out and everything is fixed, they could run circles around all of us and act like they didn't try to screw me over. Keep your money, and avoid this dealership. Ask around and find a local mechanic, they won't try to kill you or screw you over like this dealership did me. You people are absolutely DISGUSTING and are so dang lucky that mechanic didn't call me during repair and told me what you did. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I had a very positive experience working with Richmond Ford West and, specifically, Derrick Pulliam in the purchase of my Ford Bronco Sport. I wasn't intending to purchase a used vehicle, but 2023 orders are so delayed in their production that I decided to look for a used one with low mileage. This dealership is a couple hours from my home, and it was fantastic being able to negotiate a deal entirely via email, when a lot of other dealerships only wanted to entertain in-person conversations. In a single day, I had the price agreed to and financing in place with only two, brief phone calls required to complete the financing portion. Upon picking up the vehicle, Derrick went over all the features and ensured the paperwork was ready to go. Given the car is certified pre-owned, I noticed about 10 minutes into driving it home that there was a small crack in the windshield. I called Derrick and he had me send a photo, agreed I could get it repaired local to my home, and mailed a check to reimburse me. I also discovered that the rooftop antenna was missing to which Derrick was very responsive and worked to ensure that I would be reimbursed for the purchase of a new one. Derrick was always responsive and courteous in his efforts to resolve these small issues, even after the deal was completed. I have no hesitation recommending this dealership to others, and I intend to consider it for my future purchases, even though it isn't the most convenient location to my home. It's getting harder to find pleasant and attentive customer service, and I found it well worth my trip. read more

This review is in regards to the service area. I really wish there was another word for it, because service was not something that was received by any stretch of the imagination. My wife dropped her car off early Monday morning, per her appointment, and made them aware that she needed the car back for work on Tuesday. Monday afternoon comes and we have heard absolutely nothing, so around 3:30 we called to ask about the status of the car. At 4:30, we tried again and finally got through. We were told that, even though we had an 8AM appointment, they were only then even bringing the car into the service area. After eight and a half hours. We were told we would be updated as soon as possible. About an hour later, we were told that the car would be there overnight due to some transmission problems. We were also told that a rental or a loaner car was out of the question, because the repairs were covered under warranty. It says a lot that they refused to provide a replacement vehicle on service that they weren't making money on. At that point we had no choice, and I took my wife to work the next morning. Tuesday came, and in the afternoon when they were about to close we finally were able to get in touch with them again. We were told several things. We were told that it would be a few days, that it would be another night, and so on. At this point we were just annoyed, because we still had not gotten ANY updates or communications from anyone at all. No calls, text messages, or even a simple email. Finally at 5:30, after they were technically closed we finally got in touch with the "service rep", Tony, who told us that there was a miscommunication with the other "service advisor", Meghan. The car was finished, and we were given a bill for tires and alignment. When we went to pick it up, we were treated in what honestly felt like a patronizing manner. Both my wife and I work in customer service, and have for years, and the service was a joke. It's easier to communicate with dolphins than it is the service area. Obviously, we will not be returning here, for any reason. It's a shame, because she had been going there for years, but they have definitely left a bad impression. I bought a used car here last week and it was a disaster. I found the car online and contacted the internet manager to schedule a test drive. The internet manager, Stephanie, was very responsive and booked a time for me to come in. As soon as I pulled in, I should have known it was not going to go well: the car I came in to test drive was leaving the lot with another potential buyer. So much for making an appointment. When the car came back, sales rep Tony took me for a test drive. Tony was kind and professional, but he didn't know anything about the car I was driving. I asked him several questions about the fuel economy, service, etc., and he had to "check on" everything once we got back. We got back and I started completing the paperwork to purchase the car. My bank had already run my credit and had a pre-approval in their system - the dealership need only call to get a check written to them. I am in the process of purchasing a house and I was adamant that they not run my credit as my bank had already done so. Needlessly adding another inquiry to my credit report could impact my interest rate (over 30 years!) or my ability to secure financing. I made this known to the sales rep, the general manager, and the finance guy who helped me complete the paperwork and EXPRESSLY told them they did not have permission to run my credit. They did anyway - I received an alert from my credit reporting service the next day. I was at the dealership until about 10pm signing paperwork and returned the next day to pick up the car. Due to the credit error, the general manager, Ken, told me they were going to go over the car and make everything perfect. He told me they would top off the gas tank (not done), replace a missing floor mat (not done), and provide me with a copy of the 120-something-point inspection report for the car (also not done). Further, I know it's a used car, but there was no owner's manual and the jack and tire iron are also missing. I am furious about the whole experience. I would press these issues with them directly but I never want to see or talk to these dishonest people ever again. Your system of assigning each customer to a service rep and not allowing any other rep to communicate with the customer, isn't working for you. When I called to find out whether my car was ready, everyone (and I believe I talked to everyone there) wanted the name of the person who had done my intake that morning. Luckily I'd noticed his name above his desk. He never gave me his card or told me his name. No one ever told me I should commit his name to memory. But luckily I did remember his last name. Also, I was passed around and/or put on hold for 10 minutes before he could finally answer the phone personally and tell me my work was almost finished. Some individuals there answered the phone several times and told me we were still holding for my service technician. I found it astounding that he even had to answer my call personally. With most service departments, all employees have access to all records, so the customer doesn't feel like a ping pong ball by the time an answer is received. The work itself was done very well. The shuttle service is top-notch and the driver is friendly. read more

We purchased a used vehicle from them. 31 days after getting vehicle it needed a new transmission. The car had only been driven 600 miles since the purchases. We took it to a different repair shop to see what need to be done to the car beside the transmission. The valve cover was leaking, rear break light was out, as well as needing a new muffler hanger. Two of the items are state inspection items that should have been fixed before the sale. They was not willing to help us out with the repairs and left us hanging with bill. I would not recommend getting a vehicle from them. After trying to contact them and getting the run around for over a week, I gave up. I understand that buy a used car as is, is just that. Within the first week of driving the truck i noticed it had multiple OBVIOUS mechanical problems. I made an appointment and dropped it off to be checked over. The service department told me there was nothing wrong with the truck. i gave them 3 chances to figure out what was wrong with the truck and they couldn't. Eventually the dealership ended up buying the truck back. (I lost $2000 in the buy back) The service manager never took me seriously and came across like he didn't care. The service manager and the general manager of the dealership both told me i made up the problems with the truck. All in all it was a very bad experience. read more

I purchased a car from Richmond Ford West about a month ago. I wanted them to install an after market accessory. It was difficult to get in touch with the after market manager; he was always with a customer when I called. The first price they quoted was $1,100 (part plus installation). When I said that was too expensive they called me back and said the price was only $899; an error was made with the first quote. The price of the part is about $400 from Richmond Ford and $300 on Amazon. I found guidance on the internet to help with the installation. Installation took about 20 min and 4 screws. Richmond Ford West was going to charge $125 or $175 per screw. Do business with a company like this? read more

We took our Ford Edge to Richmond Ford West for window tinting. They did a great job on the tinting! The job looks seamless. Joey Foust, the Guest Services Director has a lot on his hands but helped us to reschedule when we needed to and bent over backward to provide exceptional service on time. I had a Quicklane appointment at Richmond Ford West. My experience was not positive. I requested an oil change with specified oil rating and a state inspection. After an hour and half wait, which I found quite excessive for a person with an appointment, these aforementioned services, and a place called "quicklane", my car was finally finished. Once my car was completed, I question the cost of my oil change, which was much higher than I expected and listed on the website. First, they tried to tell me that the price listed was only for "Ford" vehicles. When I pointed out that the small print does not noted that it is for only "Ford" vehicles anywhere, the story changed that full synthetic oil was put in my car. The use of full synthetic oil rather than regular oil or a synthetic blend was done due to the manufacturer recommendation. This decision was not brought to me for approval nor was i notified of it when I brought my car in. I have never had this issue before at other service stations in the 10 years, I have owned the car. My request was for a regular oil change with specific rating, not anything more or less. The manufacturer does not make the decisions on how I maintain my car, I do. The consultant choose not to correct the situation when I asked why this choice wasn't approved by me before it was made. Additionally on my bill, management requested my comments if I wasn't completely satisfied. I I reached out to them and still haven't heard back......very poor customer service all around. I won't be back. UPDATE: The General Manager of Richmond Ford West contacted me today. We had a pleasant conversation about my experience at Quicklane. I appreciate his willingness to reach out to me as well as understand my concerns and frustration. Since part of my review reflected the lack of customer service, I will be adding a star to reflect the General Manager's attempt to discuss and resolve my issues. read more
