Do not go to this shop unless you want to get taken advantage of. I went for a state inspection on my super well maintained '21 Ram 2500. Was very surprised to see it fail inspection for "wiper blades". After strongly debating them it was either (1) pay $60 for a incredibly overpriced pair of their wiper blades or (2) fail the inspection and have to pay again to have it inspected; likely to wait for them to find the next "concern". Even when I offered to walk across the street to buy a reasonable priced set of wiper blades at a parts house I was told they would not wait and would fail the truck. I told the manager how upset I was and that this was a complete ripoff. Told him they would get a one star review and I would never return, which led to his reply of "that sounds like a good idea". The fact I had to wait 5 hours for this was icing on the cake. Will never go there again. read more

I stopped here today on a whim to see if they could tell me why my tire was slowly leaking air. I was pretty sure it had been plugged before and thought that might be the problem. They were very nice and informed me if they needed to fix it, it would be around $35. About thirty minutes later they gave me my truck back and told me I had a couple small holes that couldn't be repaired as it had already been plugged. I was offered to order a new tire which I didn't do because I wanted to discuss options with my husband. Made an online appt to have a tire fixed. Arrived on time and the salesman seemed annoyed, but took me right away. Noticed the PSI on the tire was high, but figured it would work out. As I drove away, I noticed the spare tire was in the back of my Jeep instead of stowed properly under the car. Drove back and the person who did the work asked what was wrong. When I told him the tire was not put back where it belonged he said that wasn't his job! He proceeded to yank the tire out of my car and I asked him to be more careful. He then got numerous tools to get the tire in the underside well. He was hitting the glass and I asked him again to be careful as this was a new car. He got mad and dropped the tool against the bumper and I asked him to stop. I went inside and told the salesperson that I thought the guy was damaging my car. He came out and the guy said I was "smart mouthing" him. When I asked if he considered "smart mouthing" him to be because I asked him to stop damaging my car, he called me a "f***ing bitch". The salesperson didn't do anything but went to get the manager. When he came out I asked him if that as how customers should be treated. He said "I didn't hear him say it". When I pointed out the salesperson was right there and heard it he ignored me. I tried to tell him my concerns about the damage but he didn't respond, he just put the tire where it should be. When I asked him again about the treatment he said "call corporate". He then walked away and I said so you don't care about your customers? He said "nope". I have never felt so mistreated before. Greatly appreciated them fitting me in for a last minute inspection, however that is the end of the positive experience. The state inspection fee was not enough, they refused to pass my car unless I replaced the wiper blades. There was nothing wrong with the wiper blades! Sleezy money grab. Son took his vehicle there for a state inspection. They told him he needed new wiper blades, but didn't say it would fail inspection without them. Because they wanted 60.00 to replace the blades, he said he would replace them himself. Then, when he arrived, they charged him for someone else's ticket, only to refund him immediately when they gave him the wrong keys. Then he found out that his car failed inspection because of the wiper blades. Even though he asked to have them replaced so it would pass, they told him he'd have to come back another day. Now he's without his car until he can get it inspected again. Terrible coordination, communication, and extremely poor customer service. Save yourself a headache and take your vehicle somewhere else instead of this horrible business. They don't care. read more

This is a rip off place. Took my sons car here for an inspection. It had failed inspection the week before. We replaced the windshield wipers and the rear brakes and put on 4 new tires. Then took car here and they told us that all 4 wheels needed new rotors and new brakes. They also wanted to charge $55 to disconnect the fog lights to make them pass inspection. The fog lights were disabled in the previous inspection a year ago. Bottom line they wanted $1200 to pass inspection. Took it to another shop and it passed with no problems. read more

When I told its a wrong one they denied and said its the same. I asked them to take it back and they said we dn't take return though the good year company has 30 days return policy. The wait was short and staff was friendly here. I actually felt good about the service I received until I ran it by my husband and uncle, who work on cars and have both done multiple repairs on my vehicle. The tech tried to convince us to purchase new tie rods and stated that an alignment could not be done otherwise. I later learned that this was not necessary as I proceeded to have my alignment done elsewhere without getting the tie rods. I also learned that the workers had cross threaded one of my tire bolts, making it extremely difficult to remove the tire and completely destroying the bolt. I will not be returning. read more

They stole my money. Brought my car in to replace the timing belt. They told me that it's going to be $800 but there could potentially be another charge up to $500 if they found any other problems with the engine. They even started the car to show me that had it ran fine while they had it in the garage. I come back the next day and they said that it would be only $800 and that it started just fine. I paid the full amount and went out to take the car home, but it won't start. The car takes multiple attempts to start and then won't stay on for more than a few seconds. I went back in to ask what's going on and they explained to me that if I wanted to use this car in traffic or general driving that they would have to replace the entire engine. They never told me that the car could potentially undrivable after their repairs.. they clearly stated that if it was any worse than the $800 fix, they would let me know and I would just have to pay more. Now I'm stuck with a car than can't be driven after paying $800 to these people. read more

These people are thieves, but it's almost comical. Almost. I took my vehicle here for a state inspection and was told my vehicle failed because one of my two Fog lamps was not working and my brake pads needed to be replaced. Now, my brake pads had recently been replaced, so this really made me laugh. But the real punchline was when they wanted to charge me almost $80 to replace the fog lamp bulb. Hysterical. Truth be told, i had forgotten a lamp actually was burned out.They said the "part" was $45 alone, so I willingly left the establishment with a cute rejection sticker on my windshield. I drove to Autozone, picked up a replacement bulb for $20, and went home. Then what I did was I unplugged the old bulb and plugged in the new bulb. Really nice people but obviously not honest. I told Goodyear my car was stuttering when I would leave a stoplight so they told me my spark plugs were rusted - I had just gotten new ones so I said I would check back with the shop that change them. A couple months later my car became really bumpy when driving and stopping. I took it in and they said I had 3 bent rims (from having low profile tires and hitting lots of potholes) and that should think about getting 3 new tires soon. I decided to get a second opinion at Atlee Auto in Hanover - thank goodness I did! Atlee Auto said my spark plugs were fine (probably saved me $100) and that my rims were not bent (saved me $1200!!!!) and that one of my tires was about to blow so it would be best to go ahead and get 3 news ones (since one is already new). Unbelievable. DONT go to Goodyear - they will try to steal your money! read more

First let me say that I don't trust most mechanics. Now, I had a totally different experience at this Goodyear location. Not only did I get great honest service, but I observed the the sales rep, Eric Brown, help two customers who were in front of me with the same great service. He told them what they needed only after them telling him what was going on with their car. He gave them options and let them choose what they needed. I did not feel pressured to buy anything that I did not need and I was not overcharged for anything. In fact, I was given a discount on the labor because Eric Brown told me that the work would not take long to complete. Great service. I hope that my car does not need future work, but if it does, then I will take it to this shop. read more

My experience here was great. Not normally a fan of chains or dealerships but received reasonable and professional service. Called in last minute for an oil change and discovered a cracked joint boot on the front left axle thing. Set up the repair paid the quoted price and drove to Alabama without missing a beat. The staff was friendly and efficient. I didn't feel pressured or confused and all steps were explained in a manner that was clear and understandable by this layperson. like the others.. this place will scam you for state inspection. I took my nephew's Subaru here. The car has 61,000 miles which are mostly highway. They failed it for a drive belt (which was new) was not tight enough and wanted $30 to tighten it which is one 12mm bolt and takes all of 30 sec, and didn't need tightening. They also failed it for rust on the right rear rotor saying the pads are not making full contact with the disk. This car's brakes were serviced by the Subaru dealership just 3000 miles prior. New pads and rotors cleaned. I took the wheels off myself and inspected. There was barely any rust and the rotors were in excellent shape. They also came up with a bunch of other stuff they recommended that totaled $950 . ($200 to change spark plugs). We took the failed car to the dealership for inspection and it passed with flying colors. They said the brakes are in excellent shape and the car in general was great condition. Total Bait and Switch with Tires. I was out of town with Hurricane Florence approaching and knew my wife's car needed tires. I selected the tires on line, and she called to make appointment. She was TOLD ON THE PHONE, that the tire and the size was in stock everyday and to bring the car in next day at 10:30. Of course at the appointment they do not have the correct tires and up-sell her to unnecessary other tire that costs $60.00 more each. With the storm coming, she bought the tires. While she was there she witnessed a few other con jobs that they were pulling on other customers, with ridiculous claims about work that was "needed". One poor schmuck was being talked into spending Thousands. This shop used to be OK a couple years ago, but I suspect change in management or ownership. I waited a few days to write this review, because I wanted to take time to reflect on my experience here, and to find out from another shop that I trust if the issues were actually real or not. I can now safely say that this was the absolute worst experience that I have ever had at a car shop. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I will never go to another Good Year again. This will be long, so the short of it is, this shop will scam you. This shop will overcharge you. This shop will create problems with your car that don't exist to try and get you to spend more money. After talking to my regular repair shop I now know that I did not need a battery, I did not need tires, and I absolutely should not have failed my inspection. Do not go here. I normally don't go to chain repair shops, as I've always had better experiences at places that are owned and operated individually, and have found that they are less likely to charge for things you don't actually need. I went to Good Year because I realized that my state inspection was up, and I needed to get an oil change. This mistake has cost me nearly 500 dollars in work that was not necessary. I knew that I would run into issues almost as soon as I got there, upon waiting for my car I heard multiple conversations with other customers, all whom brought in their cars for something minor, such as an oil change or needed a new pair of tires, they were then told of other issues always costing minimum another 200 dollars. Now, I realize that there are often extra issues found in cars, but my warning bells were going off since it was every single customer. It was no surprise to me that I was then told that I needed a new battery, and I had a light bulb out. I was also told that I had tires that were starting to wear, and that they recommended getting new ones soon. I was told that I would fail inspection with the battery and lightbulb issues. I should have just walked out at this point. I will admit I am fairly naïve when it comes to cars, and considering that I haven't gotten a battery in some time I chose to get one, I later discovered that my battery was fine, and that it simply needed to be cleaned. My car was finished fairly quickly and I left. Upon driving home I discovered that I wasn't given an inspection sticker, and I went back. When I went back I was told they hadn't done a state inspection, they just did their own inspection, and told me that I failed it. I found this very odd, but I admit that I didn't specifically ask for a state inspection, I simply saw I got an inspection with my oil change, and assumed it was a state inspection. Well I went back, and they agreed to look at my car again, it took quite a bit of time even though they assured me it would be very quick, as they'd already done their own inspection. Well surprise surprise they come back and suddenly the tires that were okay before are suddenly not good enough to pass inspection. I was honestly shocked, and quite upset at how blatantly they were trying to scam me out of 200 dollars for something they had just said that I didn't need. I ended up getting a rejection sticker on my car, because I absolutely refused to pay them more money. Unfortunately due to the rejection sticker I had to get a new pair of tires at my other shop. The other shop measured the tread on the tires, and assured me that they should have passed inspection. In that time I was also pulled over for the rejection sticker, and the cop also agreed that my tires looked okay, maybe a bit worse off, but not bad enough to fail an inspection. I can only say one good thing about this shop, and that is that all of the people I directly worked with were polite, and not overly pushy. But if the only good thing about a place is that they will scam you nicely, you still shouldn't take your car there. read more

DO NOT USE THIS GOODYEAR LOCATION! Would give them a zero if I could, took car there for a state inspection. They called to tell me that the car needed headlights reconditioned, lights over the plates replaced. Quoted price $194.00, asked why so much, $99.95 to recondition highlights. Even with that and $16.00 inspection fee, that's $78.00 to replace two license plate lights. Ridiculous!!! I told them to reject the inspection and I would come pick it up. Car wasn't "ready" when I got there, was told 30 minutes to put the sticker on and give me the paperwork. I told them I wanted the car now or I would contact Police, was told that the car was in the "custody" of the State Police. I called non-emergency State Police to figure out if they could "hold" my car for whatever reason. These customer service morons called the Henrico Police Department... for absolutely no reason (other than my raised voice saying I wanted my car back now). read more
