Surprised! I came because of a sign advertising the brand of tires on my car. My tire had a small, visible screw in it. Wondering if the tire could be plugged? Yes, I'm told, expecting to hear that "upon investigation, I'm sorry to tell you that you need a new tire." But no! I was told you don't need a tire and the screw did not puncture the tire! Expecting an "up charge" it was no charge!!! Thanks a bunch!!! read more

Mark's attitude towards customers has turned me away from this location. Very rude and belittling. For some reason they are unable to explain car problems in simple terms. Second opinions have showed me that they continuously overprice the work being done. I've had better luck taking my car to the dealership so they will be honest with me. read more

It's with a heavy heart that I have to say that I can no longer recommend these guys. Over the last 20 years I've often suspected that they've said that they did work that they didn't do and this time I finally caught them. They supposedly replaced a part on my car in a few months later I had my car inspected at the dealership and they failed it for that part being broken . They sent me the pictures and when I looked at it, it was crystal clear that that part was original. It had oxidized, aluminum, dry, rotted rubber and it was clearly broken from years of driving. This is just one of several very questionable experiences that I've had with them. I would stay away. You can do better. read more

We recently moved to the area and this place came highly recommended. They are honest, provide great service and recommendations. Fair yet competitive pricing. The customer service is above and beyond! They will forever have our business. read more

As a woman who is weary of going to car shops because of the fear of being ripped off, this place is AMAZING. They did a wonderful job on my car, it was fast, and cost Effective. I went somewhere else at first, and they told me XYZ is wrong, and was going to cost me an arm and a leg. I came here and they were honest with me, and told me some of the repairs were not needed at the time. If you're a woman or man, they will treat you Fairly. This is my new go to spot. Dave and meg are very kind as well. read more

Called this morning around 9am and said they could get it done by 5. Only tire shop in the area to get it done. Great customer service and everything!!! read more

I have always received good service from Atlee Auto but today I really got special attention from a young employee Chelsea. She went out of her way ro find the answer to a problem I was having with my phone and the navigation system. She did this all free. Maybe she felt sorry for an old lady but she was kind and persistent. She made me happy. Leah Hundley read more

So mean on the phone! Belittling and unhelpful when asking about services for my car. Then after reading what some women have to say about their experiences here, I wouldn't go here if I was desperate. read more

Beware. I took my car in for my annual inspection. They were able to get me in quickly and finished in a very reasonable amount of time. However, when they called me to let me know that my car passed they told me that I needed all new brakes and rotors, for $800. Thankfully I'm smart enough to get a second opinion. My dad is a mechanic and took a look for me. When he took the tires off, he showed me the brake pads. My back brakes pads looked like new and didn't need to be replaced at all. My front brake pads had a good 20,000 miles left on them and my rotors were just fine. I wouldn't recommend Atlee Auto to anyone who doesn't have knowledge of cars or you will likely be ripped off as they tried to with me. read more

I had a flat with a car full of groceries. Atlee gave me a ride home and helped me with my groceries and my car was fixed the next day. They also found an issue with the wheel bearing without me asking AFTER we had already taken the car to four other places and been told different things from we needed new tires, new brakes and wheel balancing to they flat out just didn't know what was wrong. Atlee figured it out without us asking and now that horrible 'womp womp womp' sound is gone! Yay. Thanks Atlee Auto!! IMHO, it's a great place to get your car fixed up AND great service! read more

Atlee was amazing! My daughter got a flat tire near their shop (an hour and a half away from home). I called them to see if she got the car there if they would be able to fix it. After talking to them for a few minutes he offered to go to her to see if he could help. He went and met her and when he wasn't able to fix her tire right there he had her follow him back to the shop and repaired/replaced the tire in the shop and got her back on the road. I am so grateful for their kindness and willingness to help. If you are in their area please give them your service. They are good kind people! Thank you for your help and kindness! read more

Super friendly, reliable and trustworthy service. I am usually skeptical of Auto Repair shops especially trying out new ones, but I highly recommend Atlee. read more

Honest - enough said. I took my car here for a second opinion and boy, I'm glad I did. Goodyear off West Broad and Gaskins Rd had told me the reason my car was riding bumpy while driving and stopping was because I had 3 bent rims (due to low profile tires and hitting lots of potholes) and also recommended 3 new tires. Atlee Auto said my rims were FINE and all I had was one bad tire about to blow. I went ahead and bought 3 new tires because the other two were worn. Atlee Auto saved me $1200 with their honesty. Thank you for your kind customer service and being a trusted neighbor. read more

These guys are great. The owners are there daily and lead an Awesome team. Mark and Mike are quick to answer the phone and get you started on your repair. They do a great job of staying in touch with you during the repair. I have been doing business with Mark for over 30 years now and there is not a better guy to deal with. Anthony D. read more

I have been a long time customer of Atlee Auto and go there for my 'trip checks', inspections and other repairs. They are very professional, courteous, efficient and fair priced. I can't say enough about them and so glad there are in the 'Ville'! read more

Dropped the car off to get inspected. Did it in a reasonable amount of time. Did not fully clean off old sticker. I feel that if they do not take the time to do that what else would they skimp on. This is something I see every time I drive my car. Now I have to go to the store and buy a scraper to do the job they failed to do. Will think about taking my cars someplace else going forward. read more

Atlee Auto Service - Tires Near Me - Mechanicsville, Virginia

I had an absolute amazing experience at Atlee Auto. I needed to get my car inspection because it was expired. I called only about an hour ahead of time when I was finishing work and Mike said it would be no problem. They got it done very quickly without me having to wait long at all. It was honestly the best experience I have ever had at an Auto service. Everyone was very friendly and professional. I would go there for all my car needs read more

Mark was very helpful, I explained I had punctured my tire, instead of waiting for the next available appointment (late week) he squeezed me in same day. Very personable service, nice waiting area, quick, efficient, I'll be back when I need help again-thank you!! read more

First off, let me say that Atlee Auto Service is awesome! I called this morning and spoke to Mike and booked an afternoon appointment for a four-wheel alignment. When I arrived, Mike and the guys at front desk were very nice and understood the issues I was having with my vehicle. I told them I was just at another auto service station last week for an alignment done twice and that my steering wheel was still off. I couldn't be more happier with the service I received today from Atlee Auto Service. They had fixed my alignment and the steering wheel is straight now. They even let me test drive my vehicle before paying just to make sure I was completely satisfied. I am so glad I went there to get my vehicle serviced. I definitely recommend them for your auto service needs. read more

Good service, reliable repairs, reasonably priced.

I'm usually skeptical when going to get my car worked on because I know very little about cars and have been taken advantage of too many times, not here. I felt welcomed as soon as I walked in the door, everyone was extremely helpful, and I was in and out of the shop in no time. read more

After taking my car in for a routine service, I was told that I needed to spend a considerable amount of money to replace a part. According to a trusted mechanic who has serviced my vehicles for years, the part is not faulty. Just in case he happened to be mistaken, I took the car to yet another mechanic who confirmed that there was nothing wrong with the part. In my opinion, Atlee Auto Service was trying to take advantage of me as a customer who clearly knows little about cars. Fortunately, I know enough to get a second opinion. They will never get a dime of my money again. read more

I wish I could give 10 stars! We've been loyal customers of Atlee Auto for over 20 years. They are honest, professional, reasonable and fair. Mike always greets you with a smile and is very courteous! They are the best! read more

I took a chance after reading the reviews on Atlee Auto. I'm new to the area so I did my research. It was the best decision I made in finding a new "go to" auto shop. From the very first call to the store to the day I picked up my van, I was treated with respect and honesty. Everyone there was kind and welcoming. The whole stigma that women get easily ripped off at auto repair shops did not exist here. I spoke to Mike who took the time to explain everything to me in detail. He was patient with me as I asked questions as clearly I'm no mechanic. He is genuine, kind, and treated me like I was part of the Atlee family. I needed so many repairs to my van and I was stressed. Mike took all my worries away and worked with me throughout the entire process. Atlee gave me the best estimate to fix my van. Their prices were fair and reasonable. No hidden fees and they were completely honest with what my van needed to get repaired. When I picked up my vehicle I was extremely happy with my experience! Everyone in the shop was friendly. I have never been to an auto repair shop that made me feel like family and I trusted completely. Thank you so much Mike and Atlee for actually genuinely caring about me as a customer. You guys rock! read more

Have been using Atlee Auto for our cars since about 2003, after getting abused by another mechanic who quickly left the area (I hear running from the IRS). Dennis and Rich at Atlee just can't be beat -- wish we'd met them before ever going elsewhere. Not only do they take care of our three modern cars but they also look after our classics (my fave is the '57 Pontiac Start Chief with 347 TriPower!). Their new shop is very nice, and it has a comfortable lounge area to sit in (especially as compared to the old shop). Last week these guys did me a big favor and pulled a screw from my rear tire that got in on the may home from work, and they did it right at closing time without a problem. Patched the tire and even had time to do an oil change, and I was barely late getting home around the typical time of day. All our cars are now shod in Cooper tires and loving it. Well done guys. read more

We have been going to Atlee Auto since it moved to the current location, which may be around 10 years. I have been lucky to have newer cars, so they have changed oil, completed inspections, replaced break linings, as well as a few other larger repairs. They are wonderful at giving true estimates of how much time will be involved. At other repairs shops I would need to drop off and return to get the car later in the day, but usually now I just read awhile in the waiting room, and it is done before I know it! But best off all, when all the construction was going on around Atlee near the current library, I must have gotten a nail in my tire once a week, and of course, just when I was ready to leave town. They fit me in and helped right away. Friendly and fair priced, too! read more

Atlee auto repair is the best!! Very reasonable and truthful. I took my car elsewhere for an oil change and they charged me $80.00. Atlee charged me $15.99 for the same. Simply put, they are the very best!! read more

They are really good here, and honest - they'll let you know if you need to do something or not, and they're not pushy. Highly recommended. Reasonably priced. read more

Yesterday, I drove my car puttering and misfiring into Atlee Auto Service for the very first time. We met Mike, who we immediately liked. Mike took our information and we went on our way. Throughout the day, Mike kept us informed of the progress and he had our car finished by the time our kindergartner got home from school. We feel that we received the same honest service that he would have given his own family, and you just don't see that much anymore where car repair is involved. We will definitely be back again. read more

See the review posted on Google for a full run-down on how Atlee robbed an older couple of $2,136. None of these receipts on my desk are legitimate. The average owner doesn't know the things I know or have the desire to investigate issues on their own automobiles. I acquired a vehicle from said couple and promptly set to work fixing all the things Atlee Auto had anything to do with, which none of it was done anywhere close to correctly. Interestingly enough, on a 25 year old car, the ONLY things that were wrong with it were the "repairs" performed by Atlee. I've been working on cars since I was ten years old and even then I would have done a better job than these guys did. I'm sorry to say, but these people are crooks and whoever thinks they're getting the best is mistaken and being taken advantage of. I'm only writing this review because I can't stand the thought of people getting stolen from. I'm not kidding when I say after seeing the unspeakable work these people are capable of I was so mad I was shaking. The thought of taking advantage of people that don't know any better makes me cringe and boil with anger. For a specific example, I will tell you a simple ball joint replacement Atlee auto performed could have got someone killed. They used undersized and underrated bolts for the lower ball joint installation allowing the ball joint to move inboard and outboard 1/2" each way, 1" total travel in a part that's supposed to keep your wheel fixed to the control arm. This has the potential to turn deadly. Driving this car home after acquisition it would not stay in its lane and I had to travel well below the speed limit to maintain control. The reason Atlee used this undersized hardware is because you have to know what you're doing to install the ball joint with the suspension "loaded". If you attempt while unloaded, you'll never get the bolts in because the holes in the control arm and ball joint are specifically sized to accept a specific bolt and the angle of installation will not permit this until the suspension is compressed. They used undersized bolts because they could get away with it and not have to do the job correctly. Obviously, since the ball joint was no longer installed where it was supposed to be due to the undersized hardware, they also charged the couple for a front end alignment. This receipt is for $550 and 100% honest to God that's $500 too much for the work performed, even if they had done it correctly. I feel *slightly* bad for throwing Atlee under the bus so to speak, but this is unacceptable and something has to be done. Hopefully someone from Atlee sees this and encourages their technicians to do things correctly from now on and maintain quality control procedures. I do not get any pleasure from criticizing others' work but this could have got someone hurt or killed and that's the truth. read more

This is the most honest car repair service I've deat with & they confirmed their customer service focus again this week. I was told by another repair shop that my car would need an almost $500 part replacement/repair, due to an incorrect minor part installed at Atlee. Well, I went back to Atlee explained all to the owner, Richard Holland. To my almost shock, he took complete ownership of the issue, was understanding & interested in finding out all that happened. He took the car area apart to show me exactly what was going, that the prior service did not cause the current problem & fixed the problem in 15 minutes -free of charge. Thank you Richard & Atlee for continuing to earn your excellent reputation every day. read more
