AAA took my car to Leete Tire for me. I usually go somewhere else, but wanted something walking distance and easy to pick my car up since I had a busy week ahead. Getting my tire plugged and patched was so easy and way more affordable than I expected. I paid under $40 for the repair and was thrilled. I went here for a state inspection. Everywhere else I called had a several hour or even days wait. They got me in right away. & It only took 30 minutes!! They did not try to upsell me, and even gave me a discount for my VCU affiliation! I definitely plan on going back here next year. read more

We are Nissan customers and recently encountered a problem that we had never experienced before. I made an appointment with a general manager, but he said he felt we were taking advantage of him, which he conveyed in a very unprofessional manner. My intentions were different; my son's wheel axle unexpectedly broke after he had just completed his state inspection. We shared our concerns, but instead of providing a professional opinion, he voiced personal feelings. I requested footage of the incident, but I was told they were too busy that day to assist with my son's vehicle. His car has 70,000 miles on it, and I believe it's a bit early for this kind of issue. However, they judged that it was due to a "pothole." That could have been a reasonable explanation if it were the case, but it was not. ***Update*** It's been a few weeks now, and Tire Discounters, owner of Leete, went as far as to send me a form email asking for additional documentation. They said they'd respond within 3-4 business days. It's been over a week, and I've received no response. Leete charged me for an oil change they did not do. I even have documentation from another, more reputable shop stating that the oil was clearly never changed. They also replaced a sensor that wasn't broken. The folks working at the shop have already admitted wrongdoing. Charging money for services you didn't do is literal fraud. Next steps are to report this to the state's Consumer Protection bureau as an instance of fraud, and then take them to small claims court. ****** Original review: I'd give zero stars if they let me. TL;DR: They charged me for an oil change that they didn't even do, and to replace a sensor that wasn't even broken! Over $300. And it's been 5 weeks and they keep bullshitting me about a refund but it still hasn't happened!!! I took my car here because my check engine light came on. They told me that I needed an oil change and that a sensor needed to be replaced. When I picked it up after the weekend the check engine light was still on. They told me to drive home and it should go off. Well, it didn't. Brought it back, they turned it off, it came right back on. At this point I took it somewhere else because I was disappointed with their service. Took my car to Paradise garage and the first thing they say is: "your oil is low and it's really dirty, you're overdue for an oil change. "I attached their invoice here so you can see. That was from one week AFTER I took my car to Leete. Then they said that the sensor Leete changed wasn't even the one throwing the code. I went back to Leete and asked for a full refund, since they essentially committed fraud. They said "oh yeah, sorry, we'll get right on that." It's been over a month now, and I've had to call them multiple times. Still no refund. Next step I guess is small claims court? This is outrageous. read more

If I could give zero stars I would!!! This has been the worst experience I've ever had with a tire place. I dropped my vehicle off at 8am because I had a flat tire, the vehicle is under a tire warranty and the guy tried to tell me that it wouldn't be covered. I called my warranty and they said that it would be. At the end of the day the guy calls back and says he has to order the tire and that it wouldn't be ready until the morning. Fast forward to the morning I get a call saying it's a delay and it wouldn't be done until 1pm. I show up at the tire shop at 1pm for them to tell me the tire hasn't arrived yet. I'm so mad, so finally the tire arrives, I'm standing here still waiting for the tire to get changed! It's been over 24 hours for a tire change!!! Don't come here, they cannot be trusted! read more

I was late for an inspection 20minutes but they still got me in and I was happy with the service.

Dropped car off Sept 2021, cost over 2k to get brake issue fixed. Drove car 2000k, went back to Leete, for inspection and they stated same issue, same part went bad! They tried to charge another 2k for the part again! They said it only had a year warranty. If my invoice for last year was 9-24-21 and i dropped the car off on 9-21-22, one would think that is within the year. Leete did not honor it. NEVER TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE!!! Picked the vehicle up and taking to an honorable, trustworthy, and respected location. Oh they fixed the issue under $200 Leete has 2.5 stars ... no wonder... read more

So far this place has been great. They are first come first serve so get here early! I usually call or set up service through their website so they know I'm coming but it's still whoever is first. They also usually tell me it will be "a few hours". That's been pretty close to the mark too. I like their reliability. So my first time here, I came in about Feb to get 2 new tires. I arrived at 7:30 and waited on my car which took about 3hours. The tires were priced well and an exact match for my previous tires. They listened and didn't try to sell me a set of 4. Fiancé has also come here twice with no issues and good service. Today I'm in here for an inspection, oil change and to patch one of my two old tires. I don't know why I picked the first week of the month!! Apparently the first and last weeks in a month are the busiest! So I'm waiting for a few hours again but it's expected to be a tad longer. read more

I called for an inspection and they got me in and out in under and hour. I have friends who swear by them and now I see why. They did my inspection for $16.00. A friend who was going to be charged 1600 dollars to have the timing belt changed on his Audi 1.8T (which includes water pump) was quoted $800 at Leetes. When asked why, they replied, "we have the special tools to do the job, not many places do and dealers charge you for the tools" They also offer great prices on detailing so if you are looking to get the "full Monty" when bringing your car in for service this is another time saver. They do pretty much everything and are a nice group of people. Recommended for sure! read more

I'm writing this review without reviewing previous reviews. My daughter was visiting her sister in Richmond and text me that she heard a weird noise from her front wheel. I called a couple of tire shops I knew and they were swamped. I Googled tire shop near VCU and found Leete Tire with 4 1/2 stars. Sent her the info. She went by there they looked at it and determined the center cap where the bearings are had popped off and was causing the noise in the hubcap. They popped it back on and didn't charge her but could have said anything and charged her because she was at their mercy. I appreciate the honest transaction and taking care of her. Left my car at the dealership at 11 and was promised they'd work me in for a state inspection and text when they were finished. After being careless all day and never receiving a text or call. I walk 2 miles to the shop only to find my car still sitting in the same spot, untouched. I get that you may have gotten busy but don't give a man your word and then not inform him you couldn't service it today. Got there at 5 and was handed my keys with no apology. Great service, and they go out of their way to be honest and fair. My 13yo car has been mysteriously flashing indicator lights at some times but not others. These guys performed countless time-consuming diagnostics for free. Eventually they solved the problem, and the price was incredibly reasonable and probably nowhere near enough to compensate them for the hours spent running tests on my car. I'm young and clueless with an old car, and they could easily tell me I needed all sorts of pricey repairs, but they really went out of their way to make sure something was necessary before charging me. read more

I've been going to this location for years, since 2012 to be exact. In fact I wrote a praising review on Google (https://goo.gl/maps/nmA8MN6ezE52) and even bought my tires and rims through them (back in 2015). With a purchase through them comes free tire rotations. One thing I don't appreciate from any business, especially an auto shop since I'm no mechanic, is being lied to. This last time I went in to get a state inspection I asked them to rotate the tires. They stated they did but little did they know, I marked the tires before going in. Not a single tire moved. Some might think this is frivolous but a lie is a lie. Hell, if they would have been honest and said, "Look, we've been slammed and didn't have a chance to rotate them." I would have been ok with that. But if they're willing to lie about something like that, what else have they lied to me about? read more

They worked quickly, but what does it matter if they damage your things? I went for an inspection, and while the inspection was done quickly, I noticed on leaving that they had scuffed my wheel. I went in and asked the employee if they had done it, and he waved me off. I show this car at Cars & Coffee regularly, and I know for a fact that I didn't do it, as I take incredibly good care of my car, have never scuffed my wheels, and inspect them regularly when I wash them before shows. Couple that with the fact that they didn't remove the adhesive from the previous inspection sticker, and I would recommend not to come here if you care at all about how your car looks. Having a bad experience at Leete tire. It started on Thursday when my tire blew out. I called Leete to ask if the had my size tire, it was no available so I asked them to order it and the did but I didn't receive a call. I stopped by to check at 10 and it was there. Cool but they were backed up. I asked for a time they said 1:00 I show up at 1 and still have to wait an hour and a half before they start. IDK if I'll use them again. Wes, the new manager of Leete Tire, sent me a private message here on Yelp a few weeks ago promising that the "bad seed" was out of the company and he would try to get my issue fixed, free of charge. When asked if I needed any other services performed, I told them I could use an oil change. Wes told me he would order the appropriate parts and have them in stock. They told me my tire pressure was not adjusted correctly, which I thought was a joke at first, but they were being serious. So, I paid for my oil change (wasn't comped), got back in my car, and later that evening, the light on my dash came back on again. I spoke to Wes today. He said that not only did he never order any parts, he gave me a completely different story about how my vehicle doesn't have a tire pressure monitoring system in the tires. While there may be some validity to that, he got me in the door for one additional service (that I had to pay for despite my dissatisfaction), and I feel it ended up as getting me in the door to give them more money, not to help out the customer. I still have that light on my dash, and it's not going away. Please, never, ever take your car to these people. They will do anything to sidestep or change a story to make their business model work better. The oil changes may be fine, but I wouldn't take my car here if it was the only mechanic available in the world and my car was breaking down during a zombie invasion. read more

I've been meaning to write this one for a couple weeks. It's not often you get affordable & timely work from an unfamiliar mechanic without a personal reference. I read a review on this shop here on yelp and gave them a call. The gentleman I spoke to, Jim, was professional and knowledgeable. Backstory: I needed a new battery and went down to AutoZone to do it. They were too busy to put it in so I started to do it myself. After discovering some corrosion on the ports (that had basically welded to my battery) I asked for help and waited because I didn't want to destroy my terminals. The AutoZone dude banged on my battery with a wrench and bent the nuts and destroyed the bolts on my ports so that they would not fasten to the battery. The car died every time I turned it off for two days. I needed new "ends" on the ports. Easy fix but Leete did it on time and for next to nothing. I was in a bind with some travels the next day and needed some help. I'm going back next time I need anything. read more

I was checked in right away and it seemed pretty quiet, but the inspection still took a little over an hour (definitely don't try to go at the start or end of the month or you'll probably wait forever). My car battery died. Leete replaced my alternator. They got it Friday morning and were supposed to have it ready that day, but it wasn't done until Monday afternoon because the mechanic had never replaced one on my car before. In fairness, it's a difficult job. I was disappointed but not upset. After I got the car back, the battery died again. They towed my car to their shop for free, looked it over, and told me I needed a new belt and tensioning pulley. I replaced them myself and the battery still would not charge. I went to a different mechanic who TESTED the circuits and found a wire from the alternator was loose. He tightened it and it is fine. Leete wanted a couple hundred bucks to replace parts that would not have fixed the problem. Auto shops should test before repairing rather than replacing parts until they get it right. read more

I will NEVER come here again!!! My fiance brought his 2007 camry in for an inspection, (we had just bought the car the same morning)everything was perfect on the vehicle, just needed an inspection. Took 5 hours, only to fail for a "front hydraulic motor mount". The mechanic couldn't even have the common courtesy to take a minute to explain what needed to be corrected for inspection, just waved us off and said the other guy will be right back with a quote. 25 minutes later they come back and say that the vehicle needs $575 worth of work to pass inspection. 10 minutes after we left, the check engine light came on. Needless to say we took it to another shop ,which replaced the CORRECT motor mount, and it passed inspection. Upon further inspection of the vehicle it was discovered that the ignition coils had been tampered with.(The plastic covering on 3 of them were cracked like they had been hit with a hammer, one of which the worlds were just shoved into the casino and shoved back onto the spark plug!! )Which have absolutely nothing to do with a state inspection, nor should they have had any reason to remove the engine cover to even do anything with the ignition coils. The mechanics that work at this shop are extremely incompetent and unprofessional. They will tamper with your vehicle to make you spend more money with them. DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT do business with Leete Tire and Auto. I recommend C&J Auto Repair on Jefferson Davis Highway at Willis Road. read more

Horrible customer service. I dropped the car off at 9:00 for state inspection and ended up needing new tires. It wasn't done until 5:30. At some point, they could have told me it was going to take longer, but they were pretty vague about how long it would take. I sat in the waiting room for three hours. If I had known it was going to take 8 hours, I could have at some point gone and come back, perhaps bringing something to work on, maybe taking my poor dog for a walk. Because they are not open on the weekends, when I had questions about my new tires the next day, there was absolutely no one to contact. They rushed me out so quickly on Friday that I couldn't really look over what they had done. I had to wait until Monday to return and ask a question about my car. After all this, do you think perhaps they could have offered me a coupon for a free car wash, which they also offer at their location? Even a small gesture such as that would have made me more open to the idea that perhaps Leete was having a bad day. My hunch, however, is that this low level of customer service is par for the course. Finally, they (crookedly, btw) installed a front license plate holder that does not hold the license plate, meaning there are no screws or any sort of apparatus that keeps the plate from sliding out. When I went back to point this out to them, the woman working the front desk came back with two regular screws, like the kind you use on a bookshelf, and sent me on my way. When asked, she also said that is the only kind of license plate holder they have--and that it doesn't come with screws. Of course, the screws don't fit as they are meant for a bookshelf. I shouldn't have listened to the Google Reviews. I will use Yelp to find another service center to get my front license plate fixed. Stay away. Waste of money and time. read more

I have used this service a few times and previously had good experiences, but I took my Honda in to get some maintenance that resulted in a serious service failure set. Essentially, one thing has led to another with the final straw being that I called to discuss an issue which resulted in a gentleman 'mansplaining' the potential issue (fyi, I have an engineering degree so get the picture). NEVER go to leete tire on 2nd Street!!!!! I went in for a simple state inspection. I waited three hours. At closing time the guy told me my car was ready and out front. I paid before going out. He gave me the keys to someone else's car. When I told him he gave me the wrong keys he ran to the back to find my car and then told me the inspected the wrong car and never did mine. Then they told me to come back the next day and they would do it for free even though I already paid. During the 3 hour wait I watched multiple other customers come in and gave nothing but complaints. I would give this place negative stars if yelp would allowThis place is terrible.
