This auto shop has treated me right on so many occasions. They know your name and have excellent customer service. Chris the owner and the great guys that work there, like Mike, Daniel, and Ted are all just awesome. I am a young female and they never tell me to fix anything that is not broken and they are always very upfront about pricing. I have never felt like I didn't get a good deal and they have even told me, "I didn't fix anything today so I am not going to charge you," when my car wouldn't start and I got it towed there but it started right up when they went to look at it. They told me to just bring it back if I had anymore issues, because my car battery was just dead.(The tow guy had tried to jump it but couldn't get it to start.) I would recommend them to anyone because I know they are trust worthy, but you will need an appt. because they stay busy! They will always do their best to fit you in though. Where do I even begin? After everything that's happened, I will never trust this company with my vehicle again. A few months ago, I brought my vehicle in for an oil change and was supposed to receive a tire rotation because I purchased my tires there. The tire rotation was never done, and no one told me my brakes were in serious condition until after I had already paid. Almost immediately after leaving, my brakes started making noise. I was told I had enough brake life to make it until my next oil change. That wasn't even close to true. Before I reached my next service interval, the brakes were grinding, and I was suddenly facing nearly a $600 brake and rotor replacement. If my brakes were already that close to failure, why wasn't I warned before they destroyed the rotors? Then, after paying for the repair, I was once again told I would "probably need brakes again" on the exact same side. That made absolutely no sense and only raised more concerns. The worst part came after my most recent visit. My vehicle started feeling like something was wrong, so I inspected it myself. I found one lug nut completely missing, and the rest were loose and barely holding the wheel on. I'm incredibly lucky my wheel didn't come off while I was driving. That could have cost me my life or someone else's. At this point, I have absolutely no confidence in the workmanship or safety standards at this shop. Between the missed tire rotation, the lack of warning about my brakes, the repeated issues with the same wheel, and the dangerously loose lug nuts, I cannot recommend this business to anyone. I have always treated my vehicles as an investment, trying to get as much use from the vehicle as possible. So you can imagine I am particular about the people who work on my vehicle. Mike took great care of my vehicle. He told me exactly what he was going to do and didn't hit me with any 'surprise' expenses or 'you really need this done'. When I dropped my vehicle off he said it would be ready for pick up at XX and it was ready when he said it would be (unlike other places that have kept me waiting) . The shop saved me money where possible without cutting the quality of work put into my vehicle. Mike is a great representation of what customer service should be. I have been going to General Auto and Tire since I first started driving five years ago. My parents have been going here longer than that. The simple reason that I keep coming back is the people. 1) They are honest 2) They do really, really good and thorough work 3) They are friendly, and respectful 4) They are expedient 5) The same people stick around Unlike many chain locations and other independent mechanics, the staff at General Tire actually care about their customers and don't try to gouge you when it comes to prices or work. Chris (the owner) always remembers me when I come in, and asks about my parents and siblings. Every time, I see the same mechanics working - which is comforting to know that the same people are touching your car, and they keep track of when you need various maintenance performed. They also keep you informed of what is going on with your car. Once, I was told that I would need to get new engine fluid (or something, I can't remember the details), but that I could wait until the next oil change. There was no pressure whatsoever, just a friendly reminder. I decided to just have them take care of it then since I had the time. I have always recommended them to my friends and they are perfect for anyone that needs a great mechanic who will respect you and your car. They definitely deserve all five stars! read more

Most companies are first come first serve for inspections which is inconvenient. Lots of vehicle bays with lifts and updated technology for today's computer run cars. Take your car here. This business use to be good when the Father ran the business, they use to be honest, now it all for your money, i recently had a vehicle repaired there and they took one broke part off, put another broke part on,and claimed it was new part, another mechanic from another shop checked behind them and then brought it to there attention and John the mechanic at General Tire got angry and was ready to fight. He also told the other mechanic he could have just fix the problem instead of bring it back to him. John got paid for the job, that was not done. read more

If I could give this place 100 stars I would. As a single mother, it can be overwhelming when your car breaks down. This place has supported me and given me the BEST customer service time and time again! Not only do they remember my name, but they know my financial situation, and they work hard to make everything manageable for me. When my car is going to be out of commission, they hook me up with a back-up car, and even help me transfer my child's carseat into it so I can get him to school. They talk frankly with me about my vehicle, and always give me the best customer service and advice. On one occasion they didn't fix anything when I brought it in and they didn't even charge me.
