I took my car in for a repair that's a normal wear and tear part that usually cost me $550 elsewhere and after they did their diagnostic (which is $77 that they don't apply to the price of the work like other shops) they told me it would be $700 for that part and $170 to find out where an oil leak was coming from. They then call and say the oil leak was in two locations that would cost over $4,000 to fix it all. One location I had already priced and was quoted $650 elsewhere and they were charging more than double. They also were recommending that I get an oil change, which I had already done a week earlier, change my rear brakes which I had done a month earlier and checked them again after the visit and they were fine, and change both my engine and cabin air filters which I do myself and was done a couple weeks before. In total they wanted to charge over $6000 and for a lot of work that was already completed before I got there. It looks like they will take advantage of you if you don't know some of the things to look for or what you need before you go in. Instead, they installed budget AutoZone Duralast parts without disclosing the brand during our financial breakdown. Had they been transparent, I would have declined the service. Part 3: Questionable Diagnostics and Upselling I returned to Auto Rescue to utilize the warranty for the failed struts.
