I was driving home from work, on 64 just before the Mechanicville exit when I was unable to avoid a blown out piece of tire in my lane (had cars on either side of me, couldn't change lanes). The tire, I thought became lodged and was dragging under my car. I pulled over just to find that it had knocked something loose and I was dragging a piece of my car. I wasn't familiar with my surroundings and just Googled auto repair shops. This shop was a 1/2 mile away. I arrived, explained my situation and although they were very busy, they took my car in immediately, removed what happens to be a large plastic covering (not needed to drive but for undercarriage protection) explained the entire situation to me and then sent me on my way...but refused to take payment! They said it wasn't a big deal for them to remove and they just wanted me to be safe on the road! I really tried to pay, but they wouldn't take it.
