I am a long time Jiffy Lube customer and yesterday I had the worst experience I've ever had with them. First, $55 is a ridiculous price for an oil change. But, more importantly, I always bring my own oil and filter as I prefer to use better products than the base items offered here. There has always been a discount given for the oil and filter to offset their not having to provide them - not a lot, but some. Yesterday there was no discount and, when I questioned the "Manager", was told that they have never done that. I do have the copies of a number of receipts to prove that they have done so in the past. So now, after quite a few years as a customer, I am an ex Jiffy Lube customer. Stopped in for oil change on a tight schedule. While each bay was busy I couldn't help but notice there was 1 young man actually working. Where the others went, only God knows? After 15 minutes of sitting there with nary a car having exited the place, I decided to cut bait and go somewhere else, Valvoline in Henrico, VA about 10 minutes down the road. They were friendly and quick. Exactly what you'd expect. As a customer I get places can be busy and I can be as patient as necessary but when people treated you like you're invisible, I've had enough. Had been going to this location for years. Never had a major issue actually. That all changed today when they refused to fix a bad oil change (seems they dropped a small piece of plastic into my engine oil!) for me and wanted to charge me for another oil change to fix their mistake. Would leave zero stars if I could. I purchased a new battery from Jiffy Lube and they put in a two year old battery that died on me three months later. The first few days after I had the new battery in my car it began stalling because there was a lot of corrosion around the battery. When my battery died I took it to a different place and they found that it was two years old. I have been calling for a month and every time they tell me the same thing, that a manager will call me first thing in the morning. This never occurs. DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE! I brought my car in for a routine oil change. It cost way more than I've ever paid for an oil change but I just left it alone. Since my car is up for another oil change I brought to another shop to get the job done. They informed me that not only was my dipstick broken off but my oil drain plug was jammed so bad that they couldn't get it out. I have not taken my car anywhere but this jiffy lube to get the oil changed since I bought the car about a month prior to bringing it in. It was perfectly fine until they touched it. Drove my car here because I couldn't find the place I had chosen to get my oil changed. Car worked great. Serviced regularly at the dealership, but we are new to the area so we tried this place instead. Waited two hours, paid more than $70 for an oil change. Get the car and it doesn't start. When we bring this to their attention, they tell us that cars are random and it's the Cadillac converter. I refuse to accept the timing of this situation as cars are random. The manager starts telling people we just don't understand cars. I try to put them on the phone with someone that I know who does know cars, and they wouldn't speak to her. They said there's no point. I google some things and discover that jiffy lube has disconnected hoses in order to up sell their products. I asked the nice young man (Peyton) actually helping us, about hoses. He looked at it for a minute, and hooked up a hose for me. He seemed confused as to why it would be disconnected. Then it started right away. Horrible customer service. If they had not been so adamant that we didn't know what we were talking about, they could have fixed it in 30 seconds. To appease us, we got a coupon book. A useless coupon book since we would never come back here. Do not come here. read more

Do not go here! Went in for a oil change, was told I needed new brake pads. While flushing the brake lines they broke the bleeder valve on my caliper and did not tell me. $400+ and I've got a car with none functional brakes sitting in their parking lot for 3 days until they finally agreed to replace the caliper they broke. Took in tons of new customers before they got around to fixing what they broke the days before. Waste of money, waste of time , shady business. Will never support them again. read more

Stacie Lynn in the last week No worse place to take your car. I pulled in for a standard oil change and after paying 45 bucks for it my car wouldnt start. No one ever said sorry. They tried to blame it on me. I had to get my car towed to another shop where 200 bucks later was told that jiffy lube dropped debris from my air filter into my throttle body which cause my car to stop working. All the fault of jiffy lube. I went back to jiffy lube and asked for a refund of my oil change as well as reimbursement for my repairs and towing. Manager never said sorry or offered to do anything. Just told me corporate would contact me in 24 hours. It's been almost 72 hours and nothing. This place is awful. I will be contacting higher ups, channel 12 and the bbb. Absolutely ridiculous that this place is still operating after reading all these awful reviews. read more

I needed a headlight bulb changed. I've done it once myself before and it's not challenging, but I was away from home and in a hurry. I get there, and my passenger went in to tell them make and model of car to see if they could fix it soon. They told him it was impossible to say how long it would take because they couldn't know until they opened the hood whether it was the type of model that the bumper would have to come off. Since I knew from having done it myself that it does not, and I had found the page in my car's manual explaining how to do it and showing it was simple, I went in with the manual. I received exactly the same response, and apparently the manual "is written for an engineer" and impossible for a professional auto-mechanic to understand or even look at. So I went to Midas, who looked up in 30 seconds how long they estimated changing a light on my car's make and model would take, and changed it in the estimated 15 minutes. read more

Service was fine but this is the MOST EXPENSIVE oil change I have EVER EVER paid for. I recently bought the Groupon for a Signature Oil Change for $35, knowing that I would have to pay an additional fee for Synthetic oil. When I took my car in today to get the oil change done my resulting bill was $81.20! ON TOP OF THE $35 I ALREADY PAID (for the Groupon)! This is the biggest ripoff I have had from a local oil change business. Next time I will be much happier paying a lower rate and giving my business to a non-chain business like Jiffy Lube. read more

I went to Jiffy Lube for a simple oil change. They tried to upsell me on "high mileage" oil for my four year old car. After the oil change, I left and my car started putting off a ton of smoke once I got about a mile away. I had to have the car towed back to Jiffy Lube and since they were closed by that time, had to get other transportation to go back the next day. Turns out they forgot to drain my old oil before adding the new. Took seven visits back to Jiffy Lube to get my car fixed and my money back, as well as a complaint to the BBB for reimbursement for the tow. Never again. read more

This was without a doubt, the worst place I've ever had service. The company we finance our vehicle with provides oil change coverage every 3,000 miles, leaving us only owing $5.00. I went to get an oil change for a long vacation trip, and was told that since it was under 3,000 miles, our finance company would not pay for it, and did NOT tell me this until after my car was serviced, so I had to run home and call in to give card information, checked my histories and was charged 3 times totalling $94.90 for a simple oil change.....EXTORTION!!! Terrible place! All they do is try to push products that you do not need at HUGE prices. Tried to sell me a cabin filter for $80, that costs under $20 at an auto parts store. We have been going to this location for years. We went to another location previously and didn't get nearly the good customer service as this location. They even showed me our actual rotors and pad on the brakes to prove they needed replacement; who else does that?! You usually just have to take their word they are being honest. And they showed me the oil they put in our truck too. Plus, when I forgot our coupons at home, they trusted I did have them and honored them. They had me out quickly too. Not going back here. Took my car in for an oil change. They showed me the engine air filter and cabin air filter. Engine air filter was recently replaced and pretty clean, so I declined. Cabin air filter was filthy, but they wanted $53 for a new one. Declined that due to cost. Ended up getting a cabin air filter at Advance Auto Parts for $19.99. When I went to replace it, found that the original had been stuffed back in place and oriented in the wrong direction. Portrait vs landscape if you get the idea. Was this due to incompetence or spite? By the way, I suspect they use Advance as a supplier since I saw one of the Jiffy Lube managers in the store while I was purchasing the cabin air filter. 150% markup on the filter sounds unreasonable to me. Glad I replaced the filter that day and discovered the problem. read more

I don't write reviews but I felt obligated because of the exceptional service I got here. I went here on a Sunday morning (around 10:30) for a routine oil change. They had me in and out of there in less than 15 minutes. They recommended a couple things but never pressured when I declined. I think it was a couple bucks more than the Firestone down the road but when I went there they told me they couldn't fit me in today. All in all excellent service. Young gentleman escorted me to the waiting room then to my car when it was done 10 minutes later. Again, I don't do reviews (although that's unfair because I use Yelp for a majority of my restaurant searches) but I highly recommend this JL if you need a quick oil change. If something goes terribly wrong in the next couple days that can be linked back to an oil issue then I'll update this review but until then my recommendation still stands. read more

Do not take your car to this location or establishment! Took my car there to get an oil change, they didn't put oil back in my car... how do you mess up that bad?? They took advantage of the fact that I know nothing about cars and did not know any better. After driving my car with no oil in it (once again How???) my car died on the side of the road. After paying WAY to much money to get my oil changed, I now have to pay more money for a tow truck. In addition my car is now making a horrible rattling sound which i am sure is from there poor work or lack there of. They make no effort to ensure that you or your vehicles are taken care of. They put myself in danger driving a car with no oil in it. I will not be back to this location or this chain and i highly recommended that no one else go here either. I am not sure why I occasionally go back here after vowing to never return countless times. Well, NOW, I will never return. In fact while driving by I will mentally block its visage from my mind. Ugh, while I have occasionally had dream service here (drive in, then drive out 15 minutes later), I have had far more mediocre and several downright awful experiences. From them simply forgetting about my car for an hour and a half, to scratching the hood of a brand new car, to pulling off an oil filter ( and breaking it) only to realize they didn't have a replacement...frankly now that I think about it I am really a fool for even trying to go here last weekend after a 2 yr hiatus. Short version, waited 15 minutes and they still hadn't even logged the car in (a completely exasperated lady who may have been in the waiting room for a few days for all I know, begged for them to let her and her two daughters leave after her car had been ready for 15 minutes but no one checked her out, she managed to be somewhat polite, clearly a better human being than me). Eventually I just asked for my keys back and left, phew.... There were employees wandering around munching on pizza staring at all of the disgruntled patrons on the shabby waiting room like they were a zoo exhibit. I stared back with that mournful and piteous look of a POW. I actually wrote to the manager one time and never got a response so I am sure they could care less about these yelp reviews. But you do, so please do not even consider going here, ever. On the bright side they are always full of surprises, coming up with new ways to deliver horrid customer service.
