My wife and I went to the Innsbrook/Glen Allen showroom. The first time, we got there 15 minutes before closing, yes we were those people, but we had quick questions and were rushed because an employee "Had to be somewhere". We understand things come up, and you have to do what you have to do.
The second time we went there, we worked with another employee. We made sure we had plenty of time left in the day before closing to work with someone. We told her that we had worked with the previous employee, but didn't necessarily have the time during the week to work with someone to setup quotes and would like to have information today.
Generally, I'd like to receive service when I ask for it, not wait two days. I'd like to think that if a business is open, and an employee is reasonably available to help, that they will actually help and not shove it off on someone else. I don't honestly care about either of the employees commission and them stepping on each others toes, as the 5 minutes the first employee was willing to spend rushing us through samples didn't have me attached in any way.
So when we asked for more info and the later employee insisted we wait for the first employee to get back with us, we left. We asked again for detail, and she insisted we wait and that "Carpet is a big investment, so you can wait a couple of days". I'm not sure how long they've been working in a customer service field, but if you want to keep a customer, don't shove them away and tell them to wait. I guess because my wife and I are on the young side, it automatically comes off that we can't afford what we're looking at.
My time is worth quite a lot to me, because I'm working 60+ hours a week, during the week. I don't have free time to mess with these things M-F, so if I spend my free time driving to your showroom and waiting for you to be free, you should have the decency to do everything possible to get me the information I am asking for.
I'm sorry that we used up 15 minutes of your precious time at work you were supposed to be helping customers. read more
