When they are selling you a product, they are extremely helpful and make you feel comfortable but once everything is done, they will never return your phone calls. I had a backsplash done and less than a year later the grout started peeling away where the wall meets the countertop. I called to find out what the grout color was. Nobody returned my call. I went up to the store and they could not tell me from my file and said they would find out and call me back but they didn't. Wow! So where do I begin. I went to the Floor Store for what I thought was going to be simple kitchen floor replacement. That's when I met Walter. He was absolutely amazing and helpful. So what turned out to be what I thought was going to be simple. Turned into an entire home project due to a faulty dishwasher (flood). When I tell you that Walter as well as his team worked with me every step of the way. Walter's patience with me and all the changes I was making was insane. I must have gone in to the store at least once a day sometimes twice. Walter certainly made me feel like he truly cared about what I was going through. He was compassionate and really truly showed that he cared, he is veprofessional and very pleasant to work with. I mop this floor several times a day I am on my hands and knees. It shows every foot print from my little dog to my own foot prints and yes or feet are clean. If you are considering going to the Floor Store for any reason, I suggest you turn around and find somewhere else. We hired a remediation company for water damage done to our house in 2022 and they hired the Floor Store to redo our floors. We've had issue after issue after issue with no solid or long term resolution. The kicker? They even fully replaced the original floor they installed due to warping and manufacturer issues and we still have a floor that leaves us disappointed. We have floor separation in multiple spaces, uneven planks, parts of our wall trim missing, jagged janky work done around the closet thresholds, and noticable 1/8" gaps on trim around the stairs - where debris gathers and goes under. Not to mention that there was concrete leveler used on the floor the second time it was installed, and our subfloor was not properly prepped - it was neither sealed nor primed. When the concrete leveler was poured down, it went through the subfloor to the floor below and even leaked through the ceiling in 2 places. Initially, the original floor kept warping and felt like you were walking on uneven floor. After multiple attempts to fix it, they offered a full replacement. I wanted a refund, but gave them the benefit of the doubt when they said the original flooring had a manufacturer defect, and that there was improper installation, and they were confident that the new floor would not have issues. While the leveling somewhat fixed the issues, some planks are still uneven and separating on the long side. The trim gaps, trim chunks missing, and floor separation were issues we brought up but nothing was done about it. They sent someone to come fix the gaps a few times.. and the solution was to glue. I am not a licensed contractor and that seemed odd to me. Sure enough, within a month, the separation was back. I asked if they needed to be hammered back in, to close the separation, but that was not offered. We've even had the general manager out here a few times who was uninterested and did not care to fix anything, at all. The only responsive and redemptive person we worked with was Ray. That dude should go work somewhere else. I'm not even sure if licensed contractors did the work or not. And if you're reading this thinking, "whoa chill out because this free by insurance," no. Not at all. We paid a LOT amount of money to get our entire upstairs and foyer and stairs redone out of pocket to match the floor replaced from water damage in the kitchen. We are sorely disappointed by this nearly 3 year journey of problems and short term solutions from the Floor Store. All of the things in the photos are things we are going to have to pay someone to further fix their mistakes. It's taken so much time and headache out of our lives and left us so frustrated. Hi i bought some material from this company for commercial job in Washington dc 4 months ago. before i buy the material i told them its for night club got have the Commercial warranty they told the material have . the day the material arrive before we we unload the truck i open box my self and i see right way the material is really low quality and the material have no label the material is from china and they put the company label in the box , after i see that i call them and i told this material will not work and the owner told me the material is good and have 5 years warranty i said ok , after 3 months the flooring is crack is chip everywhere the material is really bad quality, i call the sale person that sold the flooring i told her we need something i being waiting for monts for them to sent someone and then they finally say they was going sent inspector guy and i had to pay the Inspector $750 for the inspection the job , so this is not acceptable they was supposed to be the ones that pay the inspector. so now they just told me to go ahead and sue them . be aware of this company the material they have with label with the company is not good quality material . now we will see them in court , stay way the material they have its trash read more

UPDATE!!! Finally got the attention of this business. They sent out 2 representatives on April 12th to assess the workmanship and collateral damage. They took pictures and agreed that the work done is unacceptable. Offer right off the bat is free labor for a backsplash and repair of the cabinet door. Also repair of damaged adjacent hardwood flooring. Long story short, cabinet was repaired, brought sample of wood flooring which wasn't even a close match, and no results in from meeting they had with Robbie Bolt who is the GM. It's now 8 weeks later. I have had to reach out to them weekly for updates. Finally had a call back from Bolt yesterday who sarcastically asked why I asked him to call me. He also asked why I paid them if I wasn't happy with the work. I told him I was called by Angie asking me to provide payment and although I was dissatisfied, was also told that larger tiles can never be set evenly because of "lippage". Follow up assessments from other installers agreed that the install was bad and work shoddy. I don't trust them to do any additional work, and am asking for a refund for what I paid and an additional $250 for materials and labor to fix the hardwood flooring. Bolt actually laughed at my request and told me there was no way they would agree to that. Said he's on vacation, and will speak to the owner and respond no later than Tuesday. I can only surmise that readers of this review and others I have written will be steered away from doing business with The Floor Store in Midlothian and the loss to them will continue to exceed what I am asking for. Obviously the character and integrity of the owner and GM rolls down hill. I will update after Bolt responds, if indeed, he does. The Floor Store was hired to replace wood kitchen flooring with tile. Store staff was helpful and pleasant. Installation did not go well. The tiles and grout are uneven. The grout is rough (socks catch on it). At completion, I wasn't satisfied with the work. The supervisor agreed and 7 tiles were replaced, including one that was cracked. There were plenty- they oversold me 6 or 7 boxes. Day 1 of installation, they moved my dishwasher and refrigerator into the adjacent room and made 2 long scratches in my wood floor. They brought someone in to repair using my extra flooring, but within a month it splintered. The other scratch (more like a long 12"+ dent) has not been fixed. They nicked the face of my kitchen cabinet, and damaged my drywall. And after I paid them I found they had damaged (scratched and dented) the top corner and side of my fridge. I asked for the name and contact info for the owner, and have emailed him several times. No one has responded. I commented on another forum about the poor workmanship, and have reached out to the person who replied (Elijah) and asked me to call him on his cell. It is doubtful that I will hear back. My work was done in March 2020-there has been plenty of time for someone to pick up the phone. I would like to thank Elijah for pointing out the store's rating on Google so that I could add my review. I recommend looking at a different company. The sales part was fine but it went downhill after that. When we were told what day carpet would be installed, I asked for a time. One was not provided to me. I informed the scheduler that we had an afternoon appointment that we could not miss & I was assured it wouldn't be a problem because it was only one room. Although moving furniture was part of the cost, my husband moved everything out of the room besides one chair (for me to sit on & watch TV until they arrived) & our entertainment system (very heavy) as he wanted them to spend less time in that to ensure we could make our appointment on time. The day of installation I hadn't heard anything by 10:30 am so I called to inquire, again reminding of my appointment. I was told the installers had left a little while ago so should be here soon. They arrive around 10:57 am and while there are 2 men, only one of them works. Our front door was left wide open for long periods of time - even when carpet wasn't being moved in & out. It's fly season so I definitely have an issue with that. The person who wasn't helping was outside on his cell phone for about 95% of the time. At one point, I asked the guy not working when they should be done as we had to leave by 1:35 at the latest (took me a while to find him to ask him, though). He said they would be done by then. They finished at 1:36 so I didn't have time to inspect the work before we all left. When we arrived home to inspect, my husband & I found some issues: the metal strip was extremely rough & felt as if it was possible it could cut someone (babies crawling on the floor), the back of our entertainment system was completely off & not one word had been said about that, & staples were all over the place (carpet, furniture, & in the driveway). I had texted the owner, BJ, while the guys were here to ask if it was normal only 1 person work. He said yes. 1 person is the mechanic & the other person is the helper. He asked if there was an issue & I responded there was. He had a store manager call me. So I went into issue of 1 person only working, the door being open, & my appointment time. He explained again that 1 person does the work & 1 helps. I advised there was no one helping the poor guy doing all the work. He told me to let him know after it was done if there were issues. Told him I wouldn't be able to due to time as we needed to leave for appointment. He said to inspect it after then & call back if any issues. So we call after we get home (my husband is furious because he also works in homes & said he would never be so unprofessional in someone else's house nor would his company tolerate it) but although there are workers, nobody in a supervisory role. I was told one would call me back the next day. I talked to a different manager the next day after I call them. She did send someone out to redo the strip but it turns out ours wasn't defective - they are all like that. He did smooth it down so there would be no danger, though (thank you). She said she could also send someone to fix the entertainment system but I advised my husband already spent over 2 hours fixing it the night before. She did credit back $100. Considering furniture removal was $66 & they only moved 2 things, broke 1 without fixing it themselves OR informing the homeowner, that seems like a slap in the face. Although our carpet is nice, we could have gotten nice carpet somewhere else where the installers were professional & the company takes ownership of their mistakes. read more
