In our case, the sandless option was not available. We were pleasantly surprised to find how little residual dust was introduced into the home. While we did check reviews in advance, it's a bit of a leap of faith when you are moving somewhere new and trusting such an important task to folks you don't know. We pulled up the carpet in our 67 year old living room not knowing what we would find. It wasn't pretty! Lots of white spots and discolorations. Our pine floors were original when the house was built in 1912. After years of Johnson's bowling alley wax when I was a kid, then a refinish in 1982, the floors hadn't been sanded / refinished since.
