Better off going to Lowe's, Home Depot or another online delivery service which eventually will force them to shutter up shop for good.

I live in Virginia and my mom lives in Hamden and my brother and I wanted to get her a new grill because her grill was falling apart and not working properly. My brother had cooked on the grill this summer and it took forever to cook the chicken. I call the hardware store and worked with Frank, who was awesome and understood my request for the grill to be assembled and delivered. Frank delivered the grill to my mother as part of an early Xmas gift and she was very excited to finally have a new grill. I would highly recommend Springhill Hardware over the big box hardware stores. It was a great feeling to support a local resident and business that has been there since I was growing up in Hamden in the 70s.

She…read morerecently purchased a $900 Weber natural gas grill (Spirit S-425), believing it was fully stainless steel like her previous Genesis model. There was no floor model to inspect, and she trusted the store's description and history. When the grill arrived, it had only stainless trim, no wheels, and was clearly not the heavy-duty model she expected. She declined delivery politely and even offered to pay the price difference or use gift cards to upgrade to the better model. They refused. Instead of working with her, they issued a refund--and then left her a voicemail telling her never to shop there again. Their own voicemail admitted it was a "snafu" and they "don't normally sell natural gas grills," but punished her for not accepting a downgrade. This wasn't about being difficult. It was about being fair. After over 7 years of loyalty, this was their response. If this is how they treat long-time customers, I encourage others to think twice before shopping here.

My contractor bought them from BBS several years ago. After an initial diagnostic visit two months ago (for which I was charged $250), it has been radio silence ever since. The person responsible at BBS NEVER returns my messages or replies to my emails. Others at the store have told me my parts are on order and the guy responsible will update me, but he never does. It's a terrible customer experience; really terrible. As of now I am out $250, still need repairs, and am getting absolutely no proactive communication from BBS. If I could have gone elsewhere for service, I would have.
