Living near the area, I easily got addicted to this place! From there Teriyaki and Bulgogi breakfast plates, to the Bulgogi plates, the Bibimbop and my new winter favorite, the spicy YetcaMein. (chicken, pork or seafood) . There's a couple of more things that I've tried and have been equally as good. I plan on going through that menu a lil more. Bibimbop was fresh and delicious. Scallion and seafood pancake with sauce was amazing also, though the octopus was a bit rubbery. Pork bulgogi was spicy and tender. A kind of Korean place, with a huge Wrigleyville bar scene twist. You can traditional dishes along with burgers, sandwiches, and breakfast food. Too many choices, that just don't really fit for me. The food was pretty disappointing, as the quality of the meat was severely lacking. The chicken was white, dark and fatty. It was the chewiest chicken I've ever had. It was off-putting. The sauces were ok, but a touch sweet. I like the broth in the noodle dish, but that was about it. Too many better Korean choices. read more

I love this place. It's one of the few places in Wrigleyville that has a true neighborhood feel. It's also very affordable.

I've been here several times and I'm glad that I recently moved much closer to this wonderful restaurant. I usually order the bibimbap, which I devour quickly because my mouth cannot wait for the next delicious bite of rice, beef and vegetables - the copious amount of chili sauce I put in is the only factor that can slow me down! (The chili sauce comes on the side, so no worries if you can't even tolerate pepperoni). The food also came within minutes which is a huge plus. I find that Chicago's Korean cuisine scene is pretty sparse and as much as I admire how other food spots offer Korean fusion food, sometimes the craving for a solid galbi or ddukboki dish can not be satisfied with a kimchi taco. This place was so good it made me download the Yelp app just to review it. We were wandering around near Wrigley field trying to find food, and a sign across the street saying "We Serve Breakfast All Day" caught our eye, so we decided to come in. I was wary at first, since it's a tiny little diner, but I figured we'd give it a shot. My nervousness only increased as I saw the shockingly low prices. My fears were instantly quashed when the food arrives and I did the first bite of my Akutagawa (sorry if I misspelled it) (with the spices and soy sauce added, per the waitress's suggestion). All six of us were very pleased with both the quality and quantity of our food, including those who got burgers, somewhat surprisingly for a Korean diner. If you're looking for large portions at low cost with a variety of options, come here. You won't be disappointed. read more

An impromptu double date night led my partner and I to this place with friends. Conveniently enough, my partner found this place on Yelp after one of the others in our group mentioned wanting Korean. The menu is simple and easy to understand with a seamless transition from the American fare to the Korean plates. There is enough variety to give one decent options from which to choose without being overwhelmed. I settled on the dolsot bibimbap with an order of the pa jeon to start. The pa jeon was a little disappointing. There seemed to be much more greens than potato batter, so it was less of a pancake and more like a pressed veggie round. That said, the flavor was good, and it was a decent portion size to be shared among the group of four. The bibimbap, on the other hand, was a delight. The portions of rice, veggies and meat were generous, and the egg was cooked well (tho not near raw like is traditional). With the compulsory red chili sauce, the flavor profile was excellent. The dolsot was sufficiently hot to keep the rice cooking and crisping. The ajusshi, who I assume is the owner, was fairly attentive and treated our table well. At the close of the meal, our party noticed that he had apparently comped our two appetizers, so here's to whipping out my k-drama-inspired elementary Korean and showing the old man not all crackers are ignorant. I came in to this place after walking by it a few times and had such a pleasant experience. After ordering to go I sat there for a while and to my surprise I was give a taste of a dish I did not order, which was amazing by the way. I then got my food and left, and boy is this some good food. I got the bulgogi beef and it is spicy and delicious, I highly recommend this place. read more

If you watch Korean dramas (K-dramas) such as My Love from Another Star, you'll love Rice'N Bread. They offer two types of Korean fried chicken: DanDuk (sweet soy sauce) and BulDak (spicy). Plus, Rice'N Bread is BYOB. You know what that means; don't you? Chimaek! (Chicken + maek from the Korean word "maekju," which means beer) I organized a Chimaek Meetup for the Chicago Korean Language Meetup Group at Rice'N Bread, and it was a terrific night out! Rice'N Bread had plenty of room for our group of nine, and the server easily split our bill without complaint. As a Meetup organizer, I truly appreciate such good customer service! I've been to Rice'N Bread a number of times, and my favorite item so far has been the dolsot bibimbap. Next time, I'm going to order the ddukbokki, and since that's my favorite food on the planet, it has a huge potential of climbing to the top of my fave Rice'N Bread dish list. read more

One of my favorite hole-in-the-wall spots in Wrigleyville! I typically order the Chicken Bulgogi with a fried egg on top and it's fantastic. For $12 a plate, they give you tons of food. This unassuming place on Sheffield avenue is a true gem for those of us who like Bibimbop and Bulgogi. I'm a vegetarian and get the bibimbop with tofu which is done perfectly. The best thing about the meal is the beautiful way the zucchini is sliced and prepared - possibly steamed? My husband says his meal is always always great. I wish I could say I have had other things on the menu, but I keep going to the same thing. Was really excited to eat at this restaurant as it had a high review rating compared to the ones around it. I was starving, blood sugar was low, had headaches. My fiend and I headed there from the train station which isn't that far of a walk but when ur hungry 1 block can seem like 10. We finally get to the restaurant I reach for the doors and guess what? Locked. I double checked the time it was only about to be 2:25 and the times on the window advertised it closes at 5 online. I wish I could've tasted the food, but after that experience, I lost my interest in the place. read more
