Some history on the revival of OTR
Jennifer G.

Visiting from out of town and wanted to see one of the breweries. This place is huge. We just wandered in for one drink. They were having a happy hour, but only a few of their offerings were on the happy hour menu. Struck me a little odd since it's all brewed in house. Staff let me try several beers . They also had a couple cocktails on tap. Cocktails were pretty strong. We decided to just have a beer and hang out in the extremely large drinking area

The location itself is not what I expected. The surrounding areas seem a bit run down but this place is nothing like that on the inside. There's street parking, meter. My only complain is that there are too many stairs and after running the Cincy marathon, it was rough. The beers helped. Also there is an elevator to get up to the patio, which was a nice discovery! The beers are good. They offer flights. Which is always a good way to start. The bartenders were great. It was busy but they were fast. Try to stop here everyone I'm in Cincy.

Rhinegeist is a fantastic place to stop in and spend a couple of hours whether you're on the rooftop or in their taproom. The taproom is spacious and has many games to play like ping pong and bags. The rooftop has great views of the city. It was convenient being able to order from the bar up here. They have a wide range of tasty beers and do offer flights! It's located right off of a streetcar stop.

We were exploring the city and stumbled across this brewery while walking around. It wasn't too busy when we arrived, and the place is huge with lots of seating. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. They had a happy hour menu, and I got a beer for less than $5. I ordered the Cindy Light Watermelon & Sea Salt, which I think is a limited-time flavor. Great spot if you're in the area.

If you're looking for a great rooftop in the OTR area, this is the place! They have a very wide variety of beer and several levels of seating. None of the beers really stood out as phenomenal, but everything we tried was good. I definitely recommend stopping in if you are touring the breweries in this area.

Beer wasn't the absolute best. It was just beer and they were packed. I do want to give it a try again, next time I am in town because it has a lot of potential.

We were told by several people to check this place out and I'm glad we did because Rhinegeist is a really fun spot. Plenty of seats and space. The brewery had a myriad of beer options, games for kids...and drunk adults such as corn hole, ping pong, and mini golf. Not sure if there is an elevator but I remember walking up a lot of steps. Great place to watch sports too and I read that they hold a lot of cool events here as well. Walkable distance to Findlay Market.

Great brewery downtown in over the Rhine district. Just a block or two from Finley market. Inside and roof top seating... corn hole set up inside. Great brews all in the old Christian Moerlein brewery... yeah.... Moerlein brewery is sonewhere else in the city. Love the rooftop bar. Parking is across the street... very limited spaces... street parking and parking at Finley market. It's pay to park.

We love Rhingeist Brewery in OTR! A giant open space that has a rooftop option for nice days. Kid friendly and you can order food into the brewery. There are games (bocce, cornhole) for kids or adults. Super cute merch as well!

Updating my review from a previous visit from a few years ago - holidays at Rhinegeist are so much fun! We had a great visit, and checking out the special holiday beers. Going for football Sunday was also fun, and it's a great space for gathering, families, friends, couples, and more. Service is great, but only limited to one bar. Food options are limited, but for a few beverages, you cannot go wrong with Rhinegeist while in Cincinnati.

This brewery is spacious, easy to find and has a great selection on tap! They have a rooftop deck, which is perfect between April and October in the nicer weather. It's great for a date, birthday party dinner or even a large convention of 150+ people. I love the dark stout ink, but there are plenty of other lighter beers to choose from.

We've been here a number of times. It's a really cool brewery and is always a must stop for us any time we go through Cincinnati.

Ask the Community - Rhinegeist Brewery

Do they have dart boards? (Real ones, not that plastic tip crap)

We do not (yes, this is late... sorry!). We've got ping-pong tables, cornhole, rings and other games for special events.

Has anyone had a wedding since the pandemic and were you happy with the way it turned out with all the safety guidelines?

It was different, but I think they handled it really well, food and drinks served at your table, dance floor 10 ppl to a group, catered food buffet done by table , and two separate aisles (one for bride and groom side) during wedding . Spacious .…

Do they sell liquor as well?

Hi Brett, we do not sell liquor.

Is it kid friendly?

Absolutely, they have ping pong, corn hole and esp on weekends there will be kids running around. I don;t think they can access the rooftop though

Are children over the age of 18 allowed to drink with their parents there?

Hi Ariana! Nope, we only serve alcohol to taproom visitors ages 21 and over.

Do they allow dogs?

They do not allow dogs.

Do they serve wine?

Yes, they carry a few wines

Are those under 21 permitted in the brewery?

Yes, but not to the upstairs portion.

Do the serve food?

Great question. Conveniently located in the taproom, the Sartre Carte offers burgers, fries, grilled cheese, fresh pretzels, cured meats, brasserie-inspired sandwiches,…

We got a cozy nook to sit in and enjoy our beer. I had the Cuppa, which I should have started slower. It was like a fine dessert cocktail and winding down your night. I don't know that there's any way to know this, but they were closed to the public for a private party until 4:00. Not a big deal. We grabbed a tea around the corner and returned after the party ended. This place is great! What a fabulous selection of brews. Even more extraordinary was the massive selection of alcohol free beers. I've never seen anything like it. Though the partiers lingered a bit, we were able to snatch a comfy table for two by the window. It's the perfect spot for two. Unfortunately I don't recall what I ordered, though I'd remember it if I saw it. Mark had a AF beer and he really enjoyed it. I tasted it and it was delightfully unique. The selection of beer to purchase and take away was huge. I intended to return after dinner, but it was cold and I was too ready to go home. The gentleman running the place was super helpful even though he was managing the party and the remaining party guests as they cashed out with drinks to go. We will most definitely return!

To start this place is a "sit down" but you have to order at the bar and they bring it to you. We were a tad thrown off with that since they literally had waiters and people roaming around, didn't make sense to me. But that was just the start! We decided to order nachos and a pretzel to start the meal. The pretzel was disgusting, hard and lacking flavor and the $14 nachos was a side plate with a small portion of nachos on it. I asked the server what was with the size of the nachos and he said he though they were normal. They aren't, you go to a normal bar and for $14 comes out a platter with nachos that are loaded. Then our mains came out, my wife's salad was gross, lacking flavor and with dry chicken and my burger was decent. For $90 this meal should have been WAYYY better. We left feeling very disappointed and will definitely not be coming back.
