I love the authentic food in this restaurant and the care they take in the presentation. It'll be nice to compare to the experience in Germany. Loved the atmosphere lots of high wood beams made to look like an authentic German house interior. Male Wait staff dressed in lederhosen and the ladies were dressed in Dirndl dresses, it was such a lively place. Our server Stormy was great and very attentive. We tried Rheinblick on a Saturday night. The restaurant is small and filled up pretty quickly. My very favorite thing on their menu is the Zwiebelsuppe, which is the German take on French onion soup. It's great! However, they only serve it during the colder months, so be sure to stop in during the Nov-March timeframe to try it. We shared the cucumber salad, which was very good. My husband had The Metzger (Butcher's plate) which wound up being his dinner the following night as well (it's a lot of food!). He thought it was really good, and he also enjoyed the mashed potatoes and sauerkraut. I had the Jagerschnitzel, which was also delicious. It was served with spatzle which was good not great, and asparagus which was way overcooked and after a couple of bites, it was just too mushy to eat. Meals include a salad, which is always appreciated. They were a nice size and the dressing was very good, but way too much for our liking. So I'd recommend asking for it on the side. The service was excellent and our waitress was friendly. Rheinblick is definitely worthy of a dining experience if you're interested in authentic German fare in a small restaurant with a comfortable vibe. The food itself was great, standouts were the applesauce that comes with the Kartoffelpuffer, and the mushroom gravy. The vegan schnitzel itself was ok, nice to have the original flavors but the texture was just a soft bean burger, so everything in the dish was the same soft texture. While the place was busy, we did feel like waiting an hour for our meal was too much. Our waitress looked stressed and seemed to be on the run while several staff in the back within our view seemed to be busy socializing. There was little ambiance. Some lively German music would have helped. Overall, we would say that food was good enough, but the experience was lacking. One of the best family dinner experiences we have ever had. Everyone loved the food, the beers and the vibe! Highlights were the butcher's plate aka The Metzger, with 5 different sausages and the chicken schnitzel with apple and melted brie on top. Small and cute restaurant with a great ambiance. The Wiener schnitzel was so yummy. Very tender and not too heavy. The spaetzl was also really good and not gummy at all. The purple cabbage was flavorful as well. I loved the gluhwein it was so flavorful and really really great. The cheesecake was good but a bit gritty texture wise. I think this is the way German cheesecakes are supposed to be now that I've had it a few times at different places and have had the same experience? The raspberry sauce was not too sweet and good. The bathroom was clean but the toilet didn't flush for some reason and they didn't have away for me to dry my hands. The boot glasses for the beer was really fun. All original from the old country. I had the pigs knuckle which was outstanding. Absolutely amazing, authentic German fare! It's a bit tight inside, so I can imagine on busy nights it may fill up easily! It was my first time having German food, so I went traditional. The salad at the beginning, while small had the best dressing ever. The weiner schnitzel, spatzel and cabbage was all delicious. I had the chicken schnitzel (there was a German name for it that I don't remember lol) and hubby had the jaeger schnitzel, which was fantastic. Each came with a salad, too. The outdoor seating area was nice and quiet. My only complaint was that the appetizer we ordered, which was a pretzel with some cheese, was pretty small - they only gave one small-ish pretzel with a whole lot of cheese, basically like 2 bites for each of us. I thought for the price of it ($9), it should've been a little more generous. We walked around Canandaigua while waiting for our 4pm reservation. This is a small German restaurant with no bar area that seems to fill up fast in the weekly 4 days it's open. I ordered pork schnitzel with Spaetzle n red cabbage n my guy ordered the Sausage plate. My dinner had a decent size piece of fried pork cutlet. Crisp on the outside n moist inside. I'm used to egg noodles w pork but they suggested the Spaetzle that was good too. Cabbage is always good n I rarely eat pork cutlet without it. Im not a fan of all sausages but my guy said it was good along w his fav sauerKraut. They brought the dessert tray to our table n it was hard to resist the Black Forest chocolate cake. We came here for lunch over the weekend and enjoyed our meal. The portions were large and the food tasted good! Our one big complaint was that we ordered the pretzel appetizer that came with a large bowl of dip and just one small stick pretzel (which was very delicious). We ended up ordering 4 more pretzels which was more reasonable, but we still didn't finish all of the dip! Was shopping on Main St and Rheinblick came up a number of times in conversations with shop staff. We were lucky to get in on a Friday evening. Place was packed, but we didn't feel like we were sitting on top of other tables. Service was attentive but not overbearing. Currywurst and onion soup for appetizers. Jagerschnitzel and Rahmschnitzel for mains. All food was delicious. Seasoning level was spot on and the schnitzels were tender and perfectly fried.
