This place should be packed day and night. Our daughter goes to school up there, and we ended up at the TR for lunch a few weeks ago. Very friendly service! Their pizza is outstanding, especially if you like that wood-fired style. I have the meat-lovers pizza and loved it. But the biggest deal for me was their Headless Horseman pumpkin ale. Now, I'm a bit of a pumpkin beer snob, and most of them aren't that great. I am not exaggerating when I say theirs may be the best I've ever had. Very smooth and the perfect amount of pumpkin and spice flavors. I bought 3 4-packs to take home, which I have been nursing ever since. I should have bought two cases of it, though. Loved this place! First time coming in and had a wonderful great experience! The restaurant was a good size, plenty of seating room, clean and welcoming. You order at the bar so all at your pace. There was music and TVs/ projector had football games on! Tried a few different beers that were delicious. Twisted Rail Geneva has the best chicken wing pizza! cooked to perfection, crispy bottom, generous toppings and ample cheese. The beers are too! Something for everyone , my husband loves IPAs (spike driver) I love wheat beers (raspberry wheat) . Service is friendly and fast! Seating is inside, outside and even some in between. Train wreck fries 9/10 Fries were cooked well, the queso is good. Campfire mayo kinda tastes like bbq. It was a really good combination of flavors. I really liked that even the fries at the bottom got covered too. What would make them better? Jalapeños on the side (for those who don't like spice) and a little drizzle of sour cream to lighten up the dish as a whole. Overall I'd eat these again. read more

Unfortunately I had high hopes for this place and it fell short. The venue is awesome! Wide open space lots of seating, cool indoor/outdoor area too. They have weekly specials so we ordered the fish fry and the hummus platter. They couldn't make the fish broiled or any other way than fried. When our beeper went off we got up and got our own meal from the window. The fish was not really cooked all the way through parts were translucent. The tartar sauce tasted sour like it had gone bad and the fries were not hot. The hummus platter came with carrots that were slimy, so bad you couldn't even hold onto one. I told the bartender and he went in the back and came out to say all the carrots are bad and they can't serve them. The bread was over done like an overdone thick pizza crust you can't rip apart and it was hard to bite. Needless to say I didn't eat much and we were disappointed. read more

We were looking for somewhere to stop in for beer after visiting other spots in Geneva. We chose the Twisted Rail and I'm glad we did. The bartenders were super nice and highly knowledgeable of their craft. Furthermore, they constructed an old theater into a craft brewery. I got the Farmhouse Ale which was excellent. My husband and I had a great time at Twisted Rail in Geneva. It's such a cool place downtown Geneva. Love all the vintage postcard pics on the wall. The staff was very nice. They had a good selection. I enjoyed my shandy. I love a good shandy (beer and lemonade). My husband liked his beer too. Can't remember what he had. They also have food that I'd like to try sometime. Very cool to see a brewery take over an old movie theater. Just walking in the door brings a cool sense of nostalgia to the good old days, but after that, it was sorta downhill. The place is dark and sort of loud with TV's all over the place, so this is where you may hit to get your game on, but the locals were drinking things beside craft beer. The girl who took my order was very nice. I ordered a flight (scotch ale, doppelbock, red rye IPA and dunkelweiss. All of the beers were lacking carbonation. Not flat, but not fresh either. All were OK, but for me to order all beers in styles that I truly love, these fell way short. We didn't order any food, but it was mainly pub grub. Not my sort of brewery. read more

On July 14, we started our Seneca Lake brewery tour with beer and lunch at Twisted Rail. First of all, this brewery is in an old theater and they have used that space well. There is plenty of indoor seating and some outdoor seating. We sat in an area that overlooked the brewing operations. The beers were quite good and the food was excellent. Yes, you order at the bar, receive "buzzer" that will tell you when to pick up your food. This worked well for us. We found the beertender to be pleasant and helpful. He even gave us info on other breweries. We would definitely go to Twisted Rail again! read more

The staff were nice, helpful. The drinks were good. The place though, reeked of mildew. Management/owner really needs to clean out the air filters for HVAC and/or clean the bar. It can't be healthy, customers, but especially for staff to have to breathe that in for shifts daily! Sort it out! There are only two toilets, no urinal for men. One out of order. Cool brewery in the Finger Lakes. This brewery/ restaurant was converted from a movie theater. Enough of the structure was left intact so that you can see the details. We stumbled upon this place because we had our pup and we needed an outdoor seat for lunch. Twisted rail was the only place around with an open patio so it was the winner. This is def a great place to grab a drink in the summer but things on our visit seemed a little off that day. I went in and tried to order but there was a huge line. There was an open register but the woman working it was having a very long and personal conversation with a friend. She wasn't acknowledging any customers or trying to help her coworkers so it was a little awkward. I was finally able to order and we got a beeper for when our food was ready. Upon sitting down with our drinks we realized the tables were filthy. It took awhile to get someone to get us something to clean it off. We had to wait quite awhile for food which was disappointing because the menu was pretty standard bar food and we were starving. Our food finally came and it was just ok, kind of disappointing. I had the portabella burger and I was grateful they had gluten free bread. It was a generous portion but there was so much balsamic vinagarette on the mushroom that it started to turn my stomach. I was sad because I had been craving this and otherwise it was pretty good. The sweet potato fries saved the meal though and were crispy and delish! My significant other had the big hook chicken sandwich. He said it was fine. I think we came on an off day. We will try again sometime when we are back in the area. read more

We went to Twisted Rail for trivia night while staying in Geneva for vacation. Trivia starts at 7p on Thursdays. We easily found street parking close by. The space was very unique (old movie theater) and spacious. We ordered a beer tasting (4 pours for $10) and sweet potato fries. Orders are placed at the bar and food picked up at a separate window. The beer was ok, nothing remarkable, and the fries were solid. The trivia game is one of the better ones we've been to and each round has a winner ($2 off your tab). Came here as I was exploring the town, and if I was in town longer, i'd have come back a different night, but I ended up being there on trivia night. Don't get me wrong, trivia night is a lot of fun if you're with friends, but I was traveling alone, and the place was very into the trivia, so just wasn't the right night for me. The beer, tried 3-4, they were okay, nothing amazing, but nothing was so bad i'd be like, ew, don't try that. If you go to the Watkins glen/seneca lake area and are on your way home looking for a brewery or a good place to eat, I highly recommend stopping at the twisted rail. It's on the northern part of the lake and right in their little town. The beers all looked fantastic, they have everything from Nutella, hazlenut beer to fruity berry beer! As far as their food they have a wonderful selection and it's very fast. You order at the counter and pick up at a window a few feet down. The food came out very fast and was delicious, I recommend upgrading to fries! The inside of this place is so so cool. I've never seen anything like it. It reminds me of an old theater with the overhanging balcony's and gold trim! I would love to see a show here or some live music! Love it! read more

We visited Twisted Rail last night as the second stop on our self-guided brewery tour. We were intrigued by how the brewery was built inside an old movie theater. The inside still had the stage intact and some elevated box seats! It was very pleasing to the eye. We ordered a couple of small plates to munch on; some fries and mozzarella moons. They were good, just like typical bar food. I got try their wings which were pretty awesome! In retrospect, I kind of wish I got those instead. They have a Wednesday wing night deal which would be ideal if I ever came back to visit. For the brews, I tried the Blackberry Lager and the Strawberry Cobbler. The lager had a pretty faint taste of blackberry, but it was light and refreshing; something that pairs well with food. The Strawberry Cobbler was very enjoyable though! It tasted almost like a liquid pie! I would definitely return just for that. Docking one star for the service. The bartender was a bit snarky for no reason. I would return though. read more

We had a party of 6 go to twisted rail for dinner. Atmosphere is nice. One thing that was a little disappointing was the feel we got from staff, just very distant. Nothing is explained to you that you grab a table, order food which is a decent size menu which makes it more confusing at the bar, then you pick it up yourself at their window. The food that came out was pretty good to everyone. For my personal experience, I ordered wings, on it they give the sauces that went up to hot. I specifically said please as suicidal as possible. If they were mild I would be surprised. I also got fried cauliflower which was pretty good. Give them a shot form your own opinion but I wouldn't return. read more

Ended our Friday evening at Twisted Rail Brewing. While I loved how they turned the old movie theater space into a brewery, I just wasn't excited about the beer I tried. Also, the bug issue just got worse and worse throughout our visit. Quality: Our final stop of the day was to Twisted Rail Brewing. This brewery is another in the Finger Lakes that feels more like a sports bar that has beer, than a brewery. They did have a long list of beers, but even with a lot of fun names and descriptions, none really stood out. We had a Flight with Strawberry Shortcake, Pumpkin To Talk About, Pumpkin Porter, and Nutella Coffee Porter. The flavors did not really match the names, and they all were sweeter than expected. I also had a Draft Pour of the Theater Juice NEIPA, which was okay, but not the juiciness it was described as. Quantity: Flight came with four 4oz Pours, which looked sad not filled to the top of the glasses. Value: $10 for a Flight. $6-$7 for a Draft Pour. Ambiance: Twisted Rail Brewing has several locations, but we visited the one in Geneva. The actual location is extremely cool, as it is built into an old movie theater. They have a small outdoor area, seating in what was the ticketing area, a bar where I assume concessions were, and additional seating in the theater itself. It creates room for a massive screen to show a game, as well as areas to put elevated live music. The way they maximized this odd arrangement is impressive, and with multiple televisions, it is clearly a good spot to watch a game. At least when they don't have flies and gnats everywhere. Crowd: A decent crowd on Saturday night. A few large parties and then a bunch of couples and small friend groups. Many were there to watch football. Service: Neither of the bartenders really seemed like they wanted to be there. They were also upset at the previous shift because they had not cleaned the space leading to a lot of bugs flying around. It was really annoying and we were ready to go after pulling the third gnat out of our beers. Parking: We were able to secure 2 hour street parking without any issues. read more
