First time coming here and had a great experience! Restaurant was super clean and staff was welcoming & friendly. Great selection of different beers to try. Food was great, all of it was hot and delicious. Tons of space for a bigger party. Also appreciated it was a family friendly place. Overall great experience, great beers, great food!

So here's the thing... this North St location of Prison City Brewing is great in terms of availability of different kinds of space (both inside and outside) and the beer options available. I love sitting by the fire pit with a cold fruited sour in the middle of the summer. The overall ambiance is just really enjoyable. But this isn't the Prison City-location to go to if you're also hoping to get some delicious pub food with your beer. In my experience at this location, it's mostly food trucks that provide the food (though they have a very limited menu available - including "Smoked Sundays" for smoked wings, or 12" pizza options), and the food trucks can be somewhat underwhelming (during my most recent visit, I ordered 2 pulled pork tacos from a truck that was serving and the tortillas seemed to be straight out of a package & were served with very little filling. I definitely could have made much better tacos at home and done so for much less money). On the bright side, this last visit was especially unique in that this location was holding a "small business Saturday"-style art & craft fair with a number of local vendors - some inside, some outside (photos included in my review are from this visit). While I wouldn't necessarily say the inside space is super conducive to having many vendors, it's certainly a nice idea. Maybe more of the vendors can be outside if this event continues? It'd be nice if they could have repurposed more of the outside lawn + patio, since they were otherwise fairly empty. A larger tend would have allowed for everything to feel a bit less crowded. Anyway, while I still prefer the State St location, they each have their own vibes. This North St. location is my fruited sour & fit pit-vibes location, and I'll be back for that. It's just not my default, and I wouldn't recommend visiting this particular spot if you're also in the mood to grab some food. It's a beer only-spot for me.

Consistent in their delivery of fabulous food and beverages. Th blood orange is very tasty as well as the lime. Poutine was a great appetizer, however the fried rice was the absolute best!

I love this brewery has grown a lot over the last few years. Their food is very impressive and they have the best beer in central New York. You order your food outside at the food truck and you can order your beer inside. They have outdoor and indoor seating as well as games and it is a beautiful little area that they have.

This taco looks very plain. It is, because they ran out of fancy stuff. Never mind that. PUT THIS IN YOUR MOUTH & cry with joy.

Boyfriend: Let's go to Prison City Me: I don't like beer, do they even have food? The name is stupid. It's hot outside. WHYyyyyy???!!!? We arrive. Him: orders some dumb beer Me: *eats four orders of the best tacos I've ever eaten, blueberry lemonade alcoholic something, need to be lifted into car to go home* So... this place is allowed to carry on ;-) The outdoor seating is comfortable and they have shade tents.

Not the actual brewery but barn on the campus

Large place with lots of different outdoor seating with brew-bag game and corn hole. Inside there is a walk up bar, seating and even lofted seating. Large windows inside gives a view into the brewery itself. Small snack menu inside including cheese and crackers and chips. Large beer selection, also have non beer canned options including cider, seltzers and craft canned cocktails from other breweries. Sometimes have live music. Dogs are allowed!

Prison City Brewery North St is my the best thing that has happened in Auburn since I moved here over 20 years ago. Their beers are amazing and vary the spectrum from Crispy Boys of all flavored to Whams!!! Service is top notch and I always feel welcome and appreciated. The venue space in the yard is perfect for so much. Sunday Market with live performances from Luke Mock and others to Friday night concerts with the areas most popular bands. Even when I'm vacation, I don't like missing a Friday night here in the summer.

I'm torn because I love the North Street location and the beer. The location is so nice for a summer night with tables, games and a fire pit outside. I tried both the Tangerine Wit and the Barrel Aged Wham Whams ... so good!! However.. the food was really disappointing. My son has been to the other location in downtown Auburn and raved about the food. This location has a food truck, which I usually like at a brewery, and my husband and I both ate cold dishes. I had the Tempeh Tacos. I was excited about them because I am vegan and sometimes it's hard to get vegan food in this area. They were cold with little filling. If they were hot and had some slaw on them it might have been a good dish. . My homemade tempeh tacos are so much better! My husband had the mac & cheese. Cold, congealed cheese on shells ..underwhelming to say the least. This was a waste of $20 in food and we left to eat at home because most places were closed at this point. The place was somewhat busy with bridal parties and a funk band but that's not an excuse for the bad food. I'm dying to try the other location because the menu looks great! . I may come back to this location for beer only and if there is a band.

This brewery was a great addition to our trip. They have a huge selection of drafts and cans, and even have canned wines and cocktails. If you like IPAs, they have several for you to pick from. I don't have any complaints on any beers. I'm personally a fan of their Straight Outta Locash Porter; very smooth and just the right amount of chocolate hints. We hung out in one of the domes outside since we had our dogs with us. The inside is gorgeous and I can't wait to come back and see how this place revolves!

Great new spot! I was visiting the area for Easter weekend and we decided to visit this brewery. We sat in one of the "bubble tents" located outside. It was a cold and windy day but the tent kept us warm and one of the workers offered a heater as well. I have no complaints and enjoyed my time here! I will be visiting again when I'm in the area. Note: the outside area is dog friendly and there is plenty of parking!

We had the chance to try some great beers, and one unique experience stood out: mixing two beers together, a concept similar to a blend in the wine world. As the bartender put it, "It's a game we like to play." On tap, they had a solid lineup: 1. Hector Logger - A traditional lager (4.9% ABV) 2. Goatmaster Kölsch - A crisp Kölsch (5.1% ABV), which I tried and really enjoyed 3. RedBeard - A Red Ale (5% ABV), a reliable go-to beer 4. Cream Ale - A bit different at 6.7% ABV, more robust than the typical lower-ABV versions 5. Golden Crush - A hazy IPA (5.1% ABV) that had nice fruit-forward notes, but not overpowering 6. X IPA - An Imperial IPA (7.8% ABV) Mosaic! Mosaic! - A Pale Ale (5.2% ABV) that followed the traditional pale ale profile and was very enjoyable 7. Goatmeal Stout - An Oatmeal Stout (8.1% ABV) Then came the blends--something I hadn't seen much of before. The only one I tried was 1. Goat Juice, a 50/50 mix of Hazy IPA and Kölsch (5.1% ABV). It was bursting with amazing flavors, the best of both worlds. Some of their other blends included: 2. Red X - A mix of Red Ale and Imperial IPA 3. Goatgasm - A Kölsch and IPA blend 4. Headbutt - A Stout and Cream Ale combo I tend to gravitate toward Hazies, Kölsches, and Pale Ales, so this place hit all the right notes for me. I can't wait to come back and see what new creations they have on tap next time!

It's been a while since I'd last been but everything is as amazing as I remembered…read more I've seen them advertise their monthly "flight night" events for some time but never actually had been to one. When I saw an espresso martini and cake pairing, I knew I had to pull the trigger. Met up with some friends and we all ordered food beforehand to offset the impending sugar rush. I'd had their naan pizza in the past and loved it, so this time I went with the one that had caramelized onions and goat cheese. AMAZING. Crispy crust, melty cheese, tangy onions and the perfect amount of everything in every bite. Then onto the main event: the flights! The staff brought over our cake and drinks and were so great about explaining what to pair together. (There was also a card) Desserts were a carrot cake with the most impossibly airy icing, a pistachio cheesecake with chocolate ganache, and a chocolate cake with a light nutella icing. I'm usually a carrot cake girlie and while I enjoyed it, the cheesecake was actually my favorite. Just the perfect pistachio flavor and a wonderful consistency -- so, so smooth. Our waitress told us that the owner is the one that makes all of the desserts too. A multi-talented queen. As far as the martinis, my favorite was the affogato one. These flight-nights are one-off events and the items aren't normally on the menu, so if you see one that looks extra appealing, get yourself there! I've been for normal service too though, and honestly, never have had a misfire here. One thing I especially love is the option to order drinks in 5oz pours, a godsend for lightweights like me. Ambiance, food, drinks, all excellent.

Once for a bonfire! Lol It's a local thing. They have a wonderful casual deck. I love sitting out there. On this last visit, we skipped the beers, and went straight for Babe's burgers. They are stationed on the deck. I ordered their burger with carmelized onions, tomatoes, and lettuce. Pickle on the side. The tomato was a farm fresh Tomato which is AWESOME! It was a local farm grown tomato, and the burger was delish. We ordered a small fries, and 3 of us shared them, and still threw some out. Yes, a small is that large. They don't sell drinks at the babes burger window. We got those at the bar. They had a free water jug, with plastic cups. I ordered a Waterloo sparking water, one friend had regular water, and the last had a soda. Because the owner makes their own beer there. I highly recommend checking them out, for beers and burgers. We didn't order any this time, because we were getting ready to go on a long drive. But....Since I live there, I can confirm their beer is worth it! I love their casual atmosphere, it's a great place to go to talk and dine. It's a local place, so it wouldn't be awkward to see go there and run into friends and start combining tables. Everyone is super friendly, so if you're ever lonely or bored, it's a great place to stop by, and hang out, you're almost guaranteed to make new friends. Parking can be tricky if they are busy, but people park on the street as long as they don't block any cars from getting by. I also love that they allow dogs, on leash, and they can't beg. Common sense rules, so don't leave your dog at home. Bring them out!
