We first worked with Reza years ago, when he completely rebuilt and tiled a shower that was not installed properly by another company. The price was extremely fair and well-explained, we loved the results, and it hasn't leaked or had any issues since. So when we decided to redo our fireplace, Reza was the only person we reached out to. The project was complicated; he would need to tile around an electrical box we installed for a TV, we wanted the overmantel squared off rather than stepped, we wanted the hearth raised to be almost even with the fireplace opening, and we chose a non-uniform tile design from daltile that had varied tile sizes and shapes so it would be like putting a puzzle together. Only a craftsman could pull this off, and he did. Throughout the process, Reza was in constant communication, was friendly and easy to collaborate with, and left his work area spotless at the end of each workday. Reza's attitude and personality seem professional and he was nice and courteous during the quote and during the work. Unfortunately, him and his team member had made a mistake in cut dimensions that we had been very clear about the size needed and had materials within reaching distance to show the size needed for the cut. A mistake was made, and this is where the issue arises, there was no workable solutions offered nor a refund for the work done incorrectly. We needed to spend an additional $700 elsewhere to replace the tile, re-grout and then redo the caulking around the bathtub that had be moved to fix the mistake that was done by Reza and his team. read more

I have wood-look plank tile throughout my townhouse, and due to settling and poor initial installation, the grout kept disintegrating in some areas on the second floor. The original installer came back and repaired it, but it happened again. I found Reza on Yelp, and he came over to look at the job and give me an estimate. I high recommend Reza for your tile and grout work. I checked out two other possible individuals before selecting Reza. I was getting a new shower door installed. Once removed I would need someone to regrout, clean the area, install a metal grab bar for safety and prep it ready for the next day shower door installation. The first person I contact was Sepulveda Stone and Tile. Its actually only one person (Andrew) operating as a mobile tile and restoration company. When Andrew came over, he stated he needed two weeks notice and had a minimum charge no matter how small the job and he does not accept credit cards. Yet even though he was going to charge me the minimum, he was only going to do the re grout the area around where the shower door was removed and would not install a grab bar! Andrew aggressively mentioned another person who he volunteered to call to install the grab bar. His estimate for the job would be about an one hour. The second person (All Points Carpet Care) is a carpet care company who claims they also do tile work. Martin was supposed to come over one day but didn't show. The next day came over, mentioned he was going to steam clean and quoted what I thought was a fair price. Later when I mentioned I needed the area regrouted he got irate and stated he only does tile cleaning. Frustrated I check out yelp. I came across Reza's Custom Tile Works. Wow! all five star ratings. Impressive. Reza came over, explained the situation and pointed out areas within the entire shower that needed, regrouting cleaning and restoration. For nearly the same price Andrew was going to charge (remember Andrew had a minimum charge) Reza would regrout and clean my entire shower and install a metal grab bar for safety. I think I talked with three GCs and five tile contractors before deciding to go with Reza and be my own GC. Reza didn't have the lowest nor highest bid but came across as both experienced and supportive of my design choices, which changed a little as the project ran its course. For example, he didn't try to talk me out of using a particular edging versus going with a surface bullnose, which others had advised. I also liked the fact that Reza seems to be a contractor who can fix problems. He and his co-worker, Pedro, were dependable, professional, and did a great job in laying out the planked floor tile as well as working with the challenging wall tile. At the end, I opted to have Reza and Pedro drill through the tile and install the grab bars, towel bar, tp holder, door stops, and even the top support of the shower pipe because I knew that they would be more careful of their work. We had Reza do a outdoor tile for our roof deck. The reason I chose him is that he was the most honest person who bid the the job, out of 5 bids. He didn't try to sell me on the most expensive thing or process but really stresesed completing the drainage and resurfacing correctly. I had a project in the kitchen, where I had to find someone to do my backsplash, which already had tile on it. so Reza and his worker installed tile over tile. He was pleasant and thorough, asked many questions to be sure we had the same vision, and made suggestions on how to finish our doorway and window. After receiving his reasonable quote, we decided to go with Reza, mainly because of his demeanor and thoroughness. He was very responsive and came the next day to look at my shower and recommended recaulking, replace the drain and caulk the tub. While he was leaving I showed him a stain on my marble floor.
