I recently hired Superior Tile and Stone for some tiling work in my home, and Julio Castro and his team did a fantastic job. Right from the start, I was impressed by Julio's expertise, his generosity with his time, and his patient willingness to explain every intricacy of the job--his attention to detail is outstanding. They re-tiled the walls around my tub and shower. A team of three labored non-stop for two days and one guy worked a few hours on the third day. It came out beautiful and was done very quickly. They also installed a kitchen backsplash behind my stove: I figured it would be straightforward, but it wasn't --they had to maneuver a new slab into a tricky space with zero right angles, mismatched alignments from side to side, and an uneven wall behind it all. Despite the challenges, it came out perfect. They were even able to exactly match the existing counter material. Throughout, their attention to detail shone through: everything was done efficiently and on schedule. They meticulously protected the floors, tub, adjacent walls, and cabinets to avoid any damage. The crew was not only hardworking but genuinely kind and professional, always honoring their word without cutting corners or stopping until they got things just right. Julio and the team at Superior Tile and Stone are the best!! He and his crew have installed flooring, tile walls, and countertops in our kitchen and master bath - all of which look amazing. Throughout the planning and installation processes, Julio and his staff were thorough in explaining the options available to us and meticulous in helping us to achieve the look we desired. When we were unsure about which option we would prefer, Julio stepped in to let us know he would handle it and gave us the confidence that he would do it well. All of the crews we had helping us (i.e. tile, flooring, countertops) were skilled, friendly, and conscientious about protecting our home The true test, however, came when we had an unforeseen complication. We chose a natural stone for our kitchen counters (quartzite) and discovered significant discoloration after honing and cutting the countertops, a discoloration that occurred only after the counters were installed. This reaction was new to both Julio and our supplier and after trying several techniques to eliminate the stains, we were all puzzled as to what to do next. As you might imagine, my wife and I were heartbroken that our new kitchen was not working out as planned. This is where Julio truly had a chance to shine! He brought us in off the ledge and assured us that he would continue his efforts until we were completely satisfied with the results. He contacted our supplier (Rio Stones - also great!) to obtain a new slab of quartzite and restarted the process only to find that this new slab reacted in the same way as the first. We tried yet a third time, with a new method, only to struggle with the results. Ultimately, it appears that we had an unlucky series of slabs that contained small iron deposits - deposits that caused brownish rings when contacted by the water required for the honing process. Refusing to give up, Julio (and Roger at Rio Stones) found us some new material cut from a different part of the mountain that would hopefully not have the same iron deposits. After treating, cutting, and observing the stone for a few extra days we finally achieved success! Our counters look fantastic and Julio's perseverance, patience, and overall skill have earned him and the team at Superior Tile a customer for life. read more

Superior Tile and Stone to the rescue! I had recently remodeled my primary bathroom with a different contractor and the tile work was very poorly done. I was desperately looking for someone to make it right and was referred to Julio at ST&S by a prominent tile store in the south bay. Julio came to my home to survey the situation and immediately knew what needed to be done to correct the tile work to make it beautiful and functional. Julio's team carefully demolished the areas of the tile that needed to be fixed. The template manager expertly measured for the materials to replace the tile that was removed. Julio scoured the stone yard to find the perfect stone to be installed. All of this was done in a timely manner with minimal disruption to my home and for a reasonable price. I would recommend Julio and his team to anyone who wants their tile work done right the first time. I'm very happy with the final result and grateful that I know about this fantastic team! read more

Superior Tile and Stone came to the rescue after a contractor mixed up my kitchen counter overhangs, making one too fat and the other too thin. A neighbor recommended Julio and he stopped by on a weekend, in pouring rain, to review the problems. He then sent his template master to measure and draw the needed changes, and pick up my saved leftover quartz to cut and polish in the workshop, including a small serving tray I had requested from the original contractor but that arrived less than half done. The next day, a team arrived to expertly trim and polish the too-fat overhang on site, vacuuming as they worked. They also installed the newly cut quartz where needed. Everyone was friendly, respectful and completely professional. The results are masterful. The speed with which the work was accomplished, and its fair pricing, puts my original contractor to shame. I especially appreciate how Julio ran with my idea to camouflage the too-thin overhang by installing quartz on the surrounding wall. ST&S truly brings the light! read more

From my initial meeting with Robbie who later gave me the quote (competetive pricing!!) and did perfect measurements to inform how many slabs of stone I needed to buy, to helping us navigate a tricky "window" situation, to doing templating, to finally having three gentlemen intall our countertops. We are remodeling the majority of our home and are working with a significant number of contractors. Superior Tile and Stone was among the best for sure! Julio came out within a day or two of my initial call and did the estimate. He and his team were responsive to all my calls and texts as questions arose in the planning phase of the kitchen remodel. Julio even helped me out when the supplier I was purchasing materials from wasn't responsive. They were flexible when I needed to reschedule the job due to another contractor's delays. The final cost of the project was within $20 of the estimate (overage due to additional materials used). We love the final result. What else can I say!?
