Michael and his team did an amazing job on our full backyard remodel. The quality of work and design exceeded our expectations. They transformed the entire space with a beautiful large deck, modern patio cover, outdoor kitchen, and pool remodel. The crew showed up consistently, worked fast, and kept the project moving smoothly from start to finish. Communication was great, the craftsmanship was top quality, and the attention to detail really showed in the final result. If you're looking for a contractor for a backyard remodel with high-end design and quality work, I highly recommend Michael and his team. read more

Isaac was great to work with and his crew did a great job! He was patient with us as our landlord took some time for the back and forth and was thorough answering all of our questions read more

Well I just love them so much I had them out a third time to build me a new shade structure in the back yard, which is special because it will host a future wedding ! I had a mental picture of exactly what I wanted. They delivered EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED. My back yard is mostly built by M&G now. New video and photo added! read more

These guys could not have been better. Reliable, efficient, easy to communicate with from beginning to end. Their work was beautiful, and they completed it within the estimated time-frame, for the estimated costs. How many contractors can you say that for? Andres, the foreman, checked in with us at all the important points, and was always available when we needed follow-up. We plan to hire them again in the near future. read more

This review is for Michael Gabso and his team. I haven't encountered a more professional team throughout this whole process of renovating my front porch. With a lot of contractors, there would be a light of hands on management in the day to day but with MG Contruction, they ran the whole operations seaminglessly while keeping me up to date on the progress. Having been busy at work, they save me a lot of my time and hassle from having to spend too much time reviewing this project. They are well organized and Michael definitely has been doing this for a long time. The pricing for his company is more than fair for the high quality of work. Both James and Max were great when I reached out with questions, they were very responsive. A big thank you to his awesome team who helped build the deck and showed up everyday with a smile. One of the reason why I went with MG Construction was because Michael's eagle eye was able to notice certain detail of the job that that the other contractors who provided bids overlooked. I rarely provide reviews for company but MG Construction certainly deserves this one. I will definitely use this company for my future landscape projects. read more

Michael and his entire staff were great!!! We had a very small job, but we were treated as though we were doing a whole-house remodel. Max, our crew chief, was there every day, helped expedite our permit sign-off and even got the porta-potty removed the day they finished (which I understand is something of a miracle!!). The crew was fast, professional, fastidious and very tidy!! Would definitely use them again and wouldn't hesitate to highly recommend them to friends and family!!!! read more

This entire team is helpful, kind and honest! They stayed on time and on budget. They built us a beautiful pool. Would highly recommend. Only the nicest things to say about MGC especially James our PM, he was super easy to work with, very responsive, answered every question with a smile. Would work with these guys again for sure and recommend them to anyone looking for honest pool/deck company. read more

All of the people we had contact with in MG Construction Group were outstanding. James. Andres, Miguel, and Pedro are courteous, responsive, and professional. As the project manager, Andres gave us daily updates and informed us of the next steps in the process. Miguel and Pedro takes pride in their work and their craftsmanship is outstanding. This was a 10 day project. Every day, they cleaned up after themselves, and were on the job site at least a half an hour before commencing work. This job was being worked on during the heat wave in March. They didn't show any signs of slowing down or complaining. They are hard working men! We are so impressed with these men, we may rehire this company for other projects on our property. read more

Smooth process from beginning to end. We had a patio cover, outdoor kitchen, and pool installed. We never had to worry or keep track of the progress; our project manager James stayed on top of it all. Very grateful to be enjoying our brand new yard and we are looking to future projects with the MG Crew! read more

We made a great decision when we chose MG Construction to build our patio deck. The deck includes two octagonal holes which surround two trees and are perfectly constructed by Carlos, Miguel, and the other craftsmen. It is beautiful! We are grateful to Max, our patio manager, and the owners Michael and Melissa for their expertise and direction. We couldn't be happier! read more

Our deck is beautiful, but when we bought the house in 2017 it was already kind of falling apart. I met with the number of contractors and Michael and his team were the only ones who were super responsive, knew exactly what they were talking about, noticed things that other teams had not noticed, carefully explained why certain elements would have to be added to enhance the safety and stability of the deck and had great ideas and cost-effective ideas to keep the deck looking nice yet practical. They finished their work within a little over one week and we're very responsive, the team manager Max was in particular super nice and texted or called back immediately, and was even more picky than I was regarding certain things being done right and in a timely manner. I would definitely consider using them again, they don't cut corners, the price is fair and worth it for good work. read more

We had a relatively small but time sensitive project (it needed to be done by Thanksgiving). After 27 years of living in our house, we finally summoned the courage to deal with our aged and ailing in-ground spa on a back patio. We sought out some options (one ridiculously astronomical bid came in a month after their initial visit). And then Mike from MG Construction & Decks came over. He listened our ideas, assessed the situation and had a very simple solution: just remove it. Pull it all out, remove the concrete slab behind it to create a larger and safer single level space. They would match the existing brickwork into the area of where the spa was and further recommended that we put in an Astroturf patch as well. He gave us an estimate during this meeting. We truly didn't know what something like this would cost but we felt his bid was fair and reasonable. The verdict? We are very happy with the outcome. The work was done in record time by a terrific crew who were prompt, polite, and professional. Jeff, the Project Manager, was a pleasure to work with. He was on-site almost every day and routinely communicated with us throughout the entire process. Even with the rain delays they kept to our schedule and wrapped with time to spare. Overall it was a very pleasant experience working with MG Construction & Decks read more

MG did a great job, plain and simple. After a plethora of negative contractor experiences, I'm pleased to say that this was truly positive. Every construction job has its setbacks, and for the few hiccups that came along our path during the backyard pool-deck build, they resolved them without debate and hesitation. The price was fair, and the project was on budget and on time. Hire them. You won't be disappointed. read more

MG did a terrific job in our backyard! We needed steps, railings, retaining walls, a small deck, and more, with difficult (steep and uneven) terrain. From the start, Michael and his team were great. Jeff, the construction manager, was always helpful and available. He never ignored a text and was easy to reach by phone. Knowledgeable, too. And the team working under Jeff was just as good. The crew was uniformly conscientious - they really cared about the quality of their work, and it shows. The job itself is very solid. The price was fair under the circumstances. It was a big, messy job on rough land and I had quotes for more money for less work, from other contractors, before I engaged MG. Five stars! read more

It was SUCH a relief working with MG! Having tried several times to start our decking project, hiring them led to it being completed beautifully! They showed up, worked efficiently & respectfully and knocked everything right out in a matter of days. Their workers are top tier and they know what they are doing! Some issues arose with another vendor we were working with because the deck needed to be built to their specs. While that vendor was VERY difficult and unhelpful, the MG team was patient and saw us through to completion. Now the community gets to enjoy a beautiful seating area at our non-profit space thanks to the MG Decks team! Highly recommend them, you'll be well taken care of. read more

I had a great experience working with MG Decks on a rooftop expansion and deck project. I interviewed a lot of contractors, but I was impressed by Michael's design sense in the modifications he suggested. James was the project manager I coordinated with and he was fantastic to work with. Throughout the whole process he was very communicative and let me understand the timeline. We called on MG to build us a big beautiful deck and they truly delivered. The whole process was a breeze with MG from the very beginning. We had many questions and Michael and Melissa were always available to schedule a call. Our project manager James and Marcelo was a pleasure to work with. He needed multiple teams to complete our project and each team was as efficient and professional as the last. Their work was incredibly clean and did not disturb our day to day at all. Material drops were timed very well and there was very little down time. We only had one issue and Michael and James were great in helping us come up with a solution. We are very pleased with our new outdoor space and would not hesitate to call MG for any future projects! read more

We considered 5 bids when replacing our deck. We decided to go with MG Construction (they weren't the most expensive but they weren't the cheapest either) given their experience and seemed like a pleasure to work with and they absolutely delivered! Incredible work on our new deck! Michael and his team were super communicative, suggested upgrades to our plans at no extra charge, and they moved quickly. Id happily hire Michael and his team for any future construction projects. read more

After spending much time in the backyard/pool in 2020, we decided to make some upgrades before Summer 2021. We selected MG Construction because they are able to work on all aspects of the project-- from fixing the pool cracks, installing new coping, planting grass, establishing water management/drainage and building new pavers. It was conveniently "one stop"! While it came with pricing premium, we are satisfied with their work and happy with the end results! Michael, Jeff and Natalie are great to work with... they are responsive to questions and consultative, as we work through the project. We are now hiring them to work on our driveway improvement next... Look forward to working with them again... read more

MG Construction did an incredible job with our yard renovation project. They made sure to address any issues which came up during the project. I've been meaning to leave this review for a while now. I have used MG Decks twice. Once for our backyard deck and again for our driveway fence. We could not be happier with end result on both projects. They are extremely professional and perform high quality work. On both projects their prices where competitive with all the other quotes we received. Max was our project manager on both projects and he is easy to work with. The owner Michael, is accessible just in case any issues do come it. Other contractors have come over to provide quotes on various projects we want to line up and they have complimented the work MG has done. You know they do good work when the competition praises them. Like I said, we have more projects we want to accomplish in the coming years and would definitely use them again. I am posting photos of their most recent job because I love how our driveway fence looks at night. read more

When we first bought our house, we knew the backyard had to have a major rehab. We interviewed dozens of contractors and felt comfortable with our first meeting with Michael. He had great ideas and was able to expand our upper deck area! We loved that was also family owned. The project took about 3-4 months, but they were quick and efficient. Although they are not the cheapest, you get what you pay for! They did an incredible job. James our project manager was responsive with any questions we had. We had some change orders along the way and they were able to accommodate us! Five stars all the way! Thank you MG Decks, the whole team, Michael, Melissa, & James! We were looking to add a deck and pergola in our backyard. We interviewed a few contractors and decided to go with MG Construction because the owner Michael had a clear and creative vision for the layout and finished product. They weren't the cheapest option, but their proposal was straightforward and they stuck to the cost schedule. Our timing was unfortunate as we started the project last summer, just as the supply problems in L.A. were at their worst. The materials for our deck sat on a boat in San Pedro harbor for 3 or 4 months. Nevertheless, MG's crew had done some initial work while we were waiting, and then resumed once the materials arrived. The project manager Max and their in-office person Natalie kept me up-to-date on the project status and were very responsive whenever I had questions. The crew worked through a number of small hurdles that arose (as tends to happen on build projects like this), and we ended up with a beautiful backyard deck and pergola that we now enjoy every day. MG Construction does quality work. I highly recommend them. read more

We came across MG Construction while looking for contractors for our home renovation. Our project manager, Leo, was very professional, communicative and insightful. He listened to our wishes and provided great suggestions along the way. Our project involved a complete refresh of the home interior, which included a new kitchen, updating 3 bathrooms and opening a wall to create an open concept floor plan. When the topic of contractors and home renovation comes up, people usually share their horror stories of what went wrong, delays and issues. None of this was the case with MG Construction. Leo was very thorough and continually communicated with us along the way. Our calls and emails were returned very promptly and we always knew what was happening. Leo did a great job orchestrating the various phases of the renovation. The crews that came throughout the project were very professional, friendly and proficient. They worked tirelessly to ensure no detail was overlooked and that everything was done right. Most importantly, the project was delivered on time and as promised! Very happy to write this post and strongly recommend MG Decks. We wanted a total remodel of our backyard and to turn it from a cement/dirt/weeds kids play area into a truly relaxing space for entertaining and family. We interviewed several companies and were really pleased at Michael's eye for design, no pressure sales approach and executing the design plan once in place. Despite supply chain issues, Michael worked with us on finding alternative solutions as the need arose during build out. The crew was incredible, hard-working and professional. Couldn't be happier with the quality of the work. There are lots of backyard remodel companies out there.....and the decision to pick one can be overwhelming. When we looked for the construction company to build our deck, we compared, we debated, we agonized, all because we wanted to see the tangible results of our vision. We chose MG Construction for their diligence and interest in earning our business. Not the cheapest, not the most expensive, but certainly the BEST! Our project manager, Leo, could not have been more attentive. He came every day to check on the progress, making sure we were satisfied with every step of the construction. Our deck is made of "ipe" which is a Brazilian hard wood. The finish is amazing! It has a flap that opens where we can push the jacuzzi cover in, then closes for a clean look. The stairs have inset multi-colored lights. It has a bench at the back for seating and storage, and a little storage cupboard in the front. All that's missing is the canopy above the bench (to be draped from the cantilevers) and the seat pad. The photos speak for themselves. Facing that tough choice? You will thank yourselves (and me ) for choosing the best company out there! (Sorry, I couldn't change the order of the photos after posting.) read more
