Based on reviews, meeting and estimate that we agreed upon with deposit has turned into a HUGE disappointment and negative impression. This contractor is well reviewed with an impressive portfolio and highly qualified - BUT.. as soon as we discussed issues around the city permitting requirements, it quickly went south. From citing delays, potential added costs, etc. which is understandable. HOWEVER, we were able to acquire a simple "over the counter" permit from RPV which did not require submitting any plans, details, product specs, etc. since it was simply replacing current -- existing composite boards. After advising him of such, we get a request to meet and being told, he could no longer do the job due to a worker injury. While it may be the case, it just seemed TOO coincidental that this happens immediately upon my sending a text advising of the permitting. SOOO I guess the lesson learned from this case is if even licensed contractors express hesitations or push back about permitting.. STAY AWAY from them. Now we have to start the painful task of interviewing contractors and bids again.. THANKS FOR NOTHING iDeck!!!! read more

It was dangerous in places; all the railings on the south side were so rotted with termite damage that they were unsafe. We got new stairs, railing posts and handrails, and damaged boards replaced. The Lange Foundation in West Los Angeles had a crumbling 10+ year old deck in their cat atrium that needed to be replaced. The deck had screws popping out and the synthetic deck material was missing chunks from wear and tear. IDeck did a very good job in repairing our deck after we experienced water damage. The water proofing was damaged by a prior contractor and last year's rains caused leakage and damages under our deck. Ideck replaced the ceiling, electrical and removed a vent which was not needed per code (our prior contractor told us that it was needed). They also applied new water proofing for the deck. Ideck worked with us on a custom design of our deck railing which we decided to replace in the process. Ideck provided architect / engineering for the drawings which made it easier to get the project done. Throughout the process Nir was very helpful and friendly and made sure the job was done well. We looked at multiple contractors in the bidding process, but found that several were not licensed and others did not want to deal with city permits. I ended up dealing with the Permit Department but Nir assured that progress was in line with our approval status. Ideck certainly wasn't the cheapest but we feel that we got quality work and service, which means a lot these days. read more

This is an updated review on my 2nd deck project with iDeck. This is a 2nd level deck off of our kitchen which had a brick top that had continually leaked into the joists over a 30 year period, despite continual sealing. I had iDeck do an estimate and I didn't bother to get another estimate as the first experience was so good. The project entailed tearing the deck off, replacing the joists and building a water proof deck. Initially we wanted to replace the brick, and Arie suggested the water proof deck which would require no maintenance. Essentially it was more like a stucco type rough surface with several layers of fiberglas and other materials to make it waterproof. We are thrilled that we went with his suggestion.
