So, I incurred some body damage on my 2020 Tesla Model Y. I broke the taillight, the charge door and scratched the rear quarter panel. I took it around to have the repair priced. It would have cost over $5000 in body work alone at an authorized Tesla repair shop, minus the parts. Not to mention, the 3-4 weeks of repair time. I was looking for alternatives. My main repair shop told me they "don't work on Tesla's if they can avoid it". I went by REVIVE, which is near my work place to inquire. The manager, Allen, owns a Tesla and had experience working on them. I got a quote of $2500 for the work. I purchased the tail light and charge door separately online. I was going on vacation the following week and Allen had his team worked on my car between their other jobs while I was gone. It was completed when I returned. It looks flawless and the even touched up some other chips and installed the aftermarket tail lights free of charge. this should say everything that needs to be said: i even brought my distrustful father around & he approved. if you want more details, read on. i reached out to so many different places across at least a month or two trying to get a quote for a lot of work at once (brakes, front control arms, rotors, serpentine belts) that i was quickly becoming overdue for. allen wrote me back and gave me specific quotes broken down into parts/labour, which most places will fight tooth & nail not to disclose, or will say they "can't" quote. he was hyper communicative for the whole process all the way from the beginning (and by text! for those of you who prefer texts to calls/e-mails), and the prices are incredibly fair and reasonable. we were able to set up an appointment within a week & my car only had to stay overnight. there were no pricing surprises. everyone who works there is incredibly communicative and while i'd call them friendly, the more important part is that they were earnest. austin, the mechanic, answered a lot of goofy questions i had about what things were and how he himself became a mechanic and what his advice was for for people who wanted to wrench. i was super comfortable asking questions, leaving my car with them, getting quotes, and i'm already looking forward to going back for future work, because the whole scenario was the opposite of the normal headache+cloak/dagger involved in auto work. allen prides himself on doing EVERYTHING for cars at revive (rather than JUST body work, JUST detailing, etc), so whether you need work done like i did, or whether you have questions about something more superficial like paint, reach out and Revive can at least take a look and help you out by getting you a quote. read more

A few weeks ago out on some trails in the desert, I got a ton of scratches from some brush on one side of my Jeep Wrangler. So, the guys very nice and helpful and I brought my car back for new struts. They misquoted me for the work and I had to buy a new shock as well, no problem. They said my car should be wrapped up at the end of the day. Then the end of the day came and things got weird, I know they had to do extra work because the didn't quote the job right but they told me they were unable to replace the control arms due to rust so they welded the old ones back on the next day and sent me on my way. It took an extra day and they didn't do all of the work? But charged me $500 less. So the control arm bangs against the frame all day now, I bring it back in, they are very helpful. Then I hear them talking crap about it while working on it. Then I have to pay for new wheel bearings because it's obviously not aligned right or they just tricked me. So they decide I need new control arms but they returned them and have to reorder them. So after 3 visits and $1000 my car feels unsafe to drive and im hoping it doesn't break on me.
