This the place to kill a few hours on a lazy afternoon. The racks of clothes takes a while to go through and while they do there best to sort by size, the size indicators are merely advisory. This store would work really well for a skinny drag queen on a budget, since I saw tons of great gown, but unfortunately I would have to be dead for three years before I could fit into most of them. This is a realllly big thrift store that I believe benefits those with AIDS. Prices are very reasonable. They don't have a lot of clothing but they do have a HUGE book section. They're opening or already opened another location in Rancho Mirage where the Salvation Army used to be. read more

I really like the Cat City location, more. When I go to the Palm Desert Costco I enjoy the fancy-schamcy "Revivals," next door. This down-town store is always "hit or miss." It depends on the day, and season you come in. Large store,well-organised, OK dressing "areas," not rooms. Lots of diverse and often very nice things. Boutique items sometimes retail price. Regular clothing not individually priced, but priced as a general item, which is odd. To much focus on the expensive, new meh-quality furniture. Someone, in the back, was, last time I was there, putting multiple price stickers DIRECTLY ON the painted surfaces of art, on gold leaf frames, and on paper art/collectible surfaces: potentially damaging and making these valuable items unsaleable. Lots of "Yelp" comments on here about rude, bitchy volunteers. I haven't seen that, but they have a LOT of different volunteers. These folks are often subjected to low class behavior from the bottom feeder people and shoplifters that hang-out in thrift shops, causing and looking for trouble. According to former DAP volunteers and "Yelpers" Leo and Stephen, management is not volunteer-supportive or pro-active, and provide almost NO training. Forget shopping at Macy's or Needless mark up type stores! The gay men that donate goods which get resold here find treasures and all one needs to do is hit the stores in the mornings to find incredible deals on top quality clothing, furniture, artwork etc... when i think of some of the things i bought that are such great finds for a fraction of the price it makes me feel guilty! And the proceeds go to a great cause as well. The volunteer are always helpful and fun to interact with. What more could anyone ask for! read more

I've found a few deals here, but it's clearly well pawed over by the volunteers first and any treasures are probably sold elsewhere where they probably charge the maximum amount. You see that more and more in thrift stores and it's disappointing and takes away from the experience. Also, I've been told they are very picky about what they accept in donations. One man's trash is another man's treasure. Not saying that you should accept garbage. but lose the snooty attitude--not cool. I see a lot of complaints on here about the smell. I think that's probably the building itself rather than the items. It's that old basement smell. I'll go back here and there, but still the Angel View stores seem to have more "finds". read more

Revivals is located close to where I reside which is a great excuse to go there as often as possible. I have purchased so much casual clothing and jewelery from this place because of the great diversity of what they offer and, of course, their wonderfully low prices. My favorite of all the Revivals locations. Nice selection of mid century style new furniture. I rarely walk out with at least buying something. I have found some nice art and recently purchased a cool old Whirlpool dishwasher for $40. The staff who do not get paid seem to enjoy their jobs. Thankfully the store has kept a lot of its used selections unlike the Reviavls in Cathedral City which remodeled and now really sucks. Great selection of items from furniture, to clothing, to household goods. We came away with a BRAND NEW 6 ft rug for less than $100. it was very soft and not very tough like the other area rugs that we saw at Target and Wal-Mart. They had beautiful furniture, but it was all a bit expensive for used furniture in my book. It was fun to poke around, but I walked away empty handed. The book section is large, and the knick knack area is large too. Some beautiful pottery and platters. The clothing wasn't very exciting the time I went. I've been to the 2 other locations in the valley and these stores never disappoint. This one had some great furniture like the others, but unfortunately I wasn't as lucky to find things we liked at this one. That didn't break my spirit though. Have found the volunteers very rude every time I've gone in the stores. I don't even bother asking them a question anymore. Who do they think they are? Someone on Yelp referred to them as bitter old queens and they nailed it! Other than that 90% of the stuff is junk(and it stinks in there). The other 10% is new merchandise(more junk) from China. The best part is the money goes to DAP, hopefully. Don't forget your Palm Spring's smile girls. read more

Flagship location and larger now that the Gallery has closed. Fun to browse in, though I more often find things to buy at the Cathedral City location (I guess I'm the same size as more diligent shoppers in Palm Springs who don't go out to CC as often). First time I saw it was a 2-3 years ago...and since I am located in LA...when I do attend the shop, they always have some type of treasure there that I must have, prices are range but not outrages, vintage items great, new items too. I bought 3 pairs of pants, vintage ones, very nice...and sometime back I scored on a Ben Sherman leather shoes for less then $20. My wife got a LeCruset large cooking pot for $25!They have a nice selection of vintage sport coats etc. What can I stay...my wife and I first do a pit-stop at KOFFI then jet down to REVIVALS for a great shopping (treasure hunting) experience. I love thrift store shopping and I use to come to Revivals all the time but my has it changed. 3/4 of the stuff in there is "new" and expensive. Yeah it's cool stuff but when I come to a thrift store I am looking for used items at a reasonable price. Today when I was at Revivals the prices were outrageous and random! I found a cool metal basket no bigger then a plate that they wanted $15 for! I could literally go to any store and buy a BRAND NEW one for cheaper! And then I found a super cool Christmas throw pillow for only $1...which are prices you would expect at a thrift store! I will not be wasting my time at Revivals anymore. Don't donate your vehicle, these people are flakes. They screwed up the transfer of ownership years ago when we donated our Saab, which is now sitting abandoned, unlocked, tires flat with the keys in it in their parking lot and we continue to get parking tickets even though we haven't owned the car for 12 years. I tried calling them several times and they never responded. Donate to KCRW or another more professional cause so that you don't carry liability. We donated the car with only good intentions and look what happened. read more

Decent place, friendly staff. Nice book selection, quite a bit of furniture and some smalls/housewares. Huge lamp collection! Mix of donated things and estate buys. Estate buys are priced higher and most of the estate buy clothes seem new... tons of hawaiian type theme shirts/dresses. Prices are not bad. read more

I've visited three times and all were pointless. Mostly low quality imports at every turn -- priced upscale like they assume they give items extra value by being under their roof.... wrong. I even wonder if any proceeds make it to a charity coffer....saying they ''support'' doesn't always make it so. I doubt I'll darken the doors again-- after reading all of the reviews [ and some good ones seem 'made up' perhaps by staff?? ] I know quality and I did not find it here-- just overpriced unvaluable product for the unknowing, unwise, unsophisticated shopper. Lee, the manager, took the time to track it down and make arrangements for me after I got back to LA. It was so nice of him to do! although I love revivals for you paid $450 for bed soon within two months in the middle worse than the bed that I gave away cannot get an exchange for my money back so I'm at $450 I could have gone to a furniture store and got a new bed even though they say it's new why is it sinking down in the middle like an old bed would never buy a new bed again from revivals even though it looked and beautiful now I have to get another bed read more

Update re: the vinyl section: It looks like someone is looking up the median prices for each record on discogs.com and pricing them that way. I couldn't figure out the odd number pricing ($19, $23, $29) until I looked up the records I saw there and the figures matched. So record collectors, you can buy on ebay or discogs OR go to Revivals thrift shop and pay for the same record there and it's a donation to a good cause. There are no bargains or finds here. You can sometimes find cool stuff here. However, my bf and I just ordered a sleeper sofa that was perfect for our new apartment. We were told it would arrive within 2-3 weeks. We called several times to check on the status of the order at around the 2 and a half week mark: no sofa. After 3 weeks of waiting, Chris told us the product was "on the water" and might arrive soon but he would call us to let us know. He never called us and after a month of waiting, we called again and were told (by another associate) the product wasn't even available. Shouldn't these things be checked before you have a customer anxiously wait for an entire month? We had to drive from LA to get our money back and were offered a 10% discount on any other product for the inconvenience. 10% discount is what they give to seniors and students. Shopping here goes to a good cause, but order your furniture elsewhere to save yourself from the incompetent employees. read more
