Just got back from Iconic Atomic. What a store. My son and I are "Tiki Heads" and love to scour stores that have anything tiki. They have a little of everything. Housewares, decorations, clothing and TIKI MUGS! Very good selection of mugs. They have Bauer mugs and others from bars all over the country. The managet is a fellow tiki head and she advised us of all the upcoming events in Palm Springs. She made our 15 year old son feel engaged in the conversation which is great because he is pretty shy. Check out the new horror based foam tiki masks on the wall. You won't be disappointed. Can't wait to come back again. read more

If you're into Mid Century Modern, Palm Springs is the place; and I'm interested in the more specific "atompunk". I loved the stuff in this store, though I didn't find anything that fit me. Although technically a second-hand clothing and furnishings store, it looks and feels more like a museum of mid century modern Americana (where the exhibits happen to be for sale). No I don't mean a museum *shop* -- I mean the museum itself. Each item for sale in the store is personally curated by the owner -- selected with a discerning eye, then displayed carefully and artfully, into one of several broad categories. The effect is visually compelling, and it makes it easy to find just what you were looking for (and dozens of things you didn't know you wanted until you got there). I have become a "regular" at Iconic Atomic. Well as regular as one can be when you visit PS once or twice a year. I don't miss an opportunity to visit when I'm in town. Once again I went in for a look. My game is vintage blazers, suit coats, and what have you. I was pretty excited because I'm down a bunch of weight and thought I would have more coats to choose from and I was right. I've been looking for a burgundy/red blazer forever but just haven't found anything. That all changed. I found three possibilities right away. One was a blazer with a USC Trojan Club crest on it from 1969. It was in great shape and it was a 42 regular. I've lost almost 50 pounds but a 42 is at the lower end of what fits depending on the cut. My shoulders and chest are still bulky from years of athletics so that excellent find had to stay there. It was a bit too snug up top. No matter I found another I liked better anyway and saw it was also a 42R. It fit better. I got my bride's opinion on it as well. I was still on the fence about the fit but the gentleman working came over and gave his opinion. He has been there every time so I think he might own the place. Anyway he's super nice and helpful. He's also witty. We talked some and I bought the coat. I wish I would have thought to get his name. Iconic Atomic has tons of vintage things. Even Tiki Lounge glassware. There's also some furniture, more clothing, and much much more. If I wasn't limited by what I can fit in a carry-on I would buy more from there. I'm very glad Iconic Atomic survived the outset of the Draconian restrictions we've all been subjected to the past two years. I will be back on my next trip!! read more

Such a fun shopping experience! This shop has a huge selection of vintage dresses, tiki clothes, accessories, and home goods. The sales attendant had a huge personality and was sweet and knowledgeable. She made me and the other shoppers feel like a million bucks! I bought a beautiful handmade 60s dress to wear for an upcoming wedding. Prices are somewhat high but very fair for vintage clothing that's in such good condition. Just know you are going for the real deal and not a thrift store price. read more

This shop is a must-see if you're plus size and want to find vintage clothing in Palm Springs. The selection is beautiful and the owner was excited to show my friend and I (both plus size) all the options we had to pick from. After having a few negative shopping experiences at other stores in the area, it was a breath of fresh air to walk into a place that specializes in inclusive sizing. All of the garments are organized by bust measurement and there are pieces from many eras and aesthetics and gorgeous accessories, as well. Plus, there are kittens in the store! Love this place! The items are gorgeous. Tiki items, antique wedding dresses, 1970s playboy magazines!, fur coats, jewelry/clip on earrings, and a few furniture items. What I love about this place is that it is clean! Most 2nd hand spots are gross and dusty but everything here is crystal clean! Most importantly the staff dude was amazing! This vintage store is cute and very organized! The dresses were on the rack by bust size, which was a huge help to a plus size gal like me! Usually I walk away from vintage stores empty handed because they never have my size! Here, I was able to try on 5 cute dresses in a size 16 and I even brought one home. I spent $45 for a 50's dress in wonderful condition with a matching belt! I'm usually a cheapskate when it comes to buying myself clothes, but I couldn't let this dress pass me by. I shopped around other vintage stores in the area and dresses were $60-$200, well over my price limit. The gentleman who was working there was very helpful and kind. They also sold vintage accessories, Mens clothes, sewing patterns, tiki mugs and vintage magazine. I look forward to coming back the next time I'm in Palm Springs! read more

This place is interesting... OK but nothing special. The owner had just received a bunch of stuff in and was unloading it when I noticed something that was of mild interest. Asked how much, and she was kinda all over the place. Finally she came up with a OUTRAGEOUS price, and I said thanks, but no thanks. Found the EXACT same item listed on Etsy, for about 75% less... and also noticed the same item had sold on EBay for even less. I get it, you're paying "rent"... but please... Felt like a little bit of a burn... probably won't go back. I'm sure some deals can be found here. read more

Was really looking forward to coming by this shop on my trip out to Palm Springs from Orange County. Unfortunately I was only able to browse the store for 10 minutes due to being behind schedule on my return home. But my initial impression of this place was very positive. Tried to visit this store twice while in PS but it was closed both times. On the first day it was supposed to be open according to yelp and their own, very basic homepage. On arrival we found a note on the door that they were closed due to being on a vintage fair but would be open the next day. Ok, no big deal, we would come back tomorrow. The next day the store was still closed although we arrived well after it's opening time. It didn't look as if the would re-open any time soon as the inside of the store looked cluttered and messy. I do understand that it might not be profitable to keep a small store open outside of the high season but that needs to be clearly communicated. Everything else is just unprofessional and rude towards costumers. read more
