I was told by an employee that the owner of the shop looks at resellers like his competition. A friend of mine said she found a pair of Chanel sunglasses in there today priced at $200 when you can buy them for $200 at Nordstrom's rack and on Poshmark. I think it's ridiculous that a nonprofit is pricing their items that high. It's price gouging and newsflash you are no competition to resellers. We spend more money there than an average person. It's a shame I no longer will shop at that location! read more

Weird experience here that seems to be had by another reviewer. Was excited to find a great set of dishes but they were heavy and wouldn't fit in the small shopping baskets the store has. I asked man employee if I can set the dishes on the counter while I finish shopping (I'd even pay) and he rudely said no and pointed to the small baskets and said to put the dishes in the baskets over there. I've been to so many charitable thrift shops in Palm Desert, Palm Springs and Cathedral City and all employees have been so sweet and kind and gracious. This is the first time an employee was so rude and couldn't care less. I won't ever go back to this location. read more

Today my daughter and I visited the store about 1:50 p.m. When I visit, I make sure to buy something to help with the "cause". I have ALWAYS had utmost respect for Angel View and everything they stood for until today! I was happy to find 4 packages of pee pads that were priced $5.99 each and grabbed them. I wanted to shop more, but they are bulky. I walked up and asked the older not so gentleman if he mind if I sat them on the counter where no one was at so I could continue to shop. He in his own words said, "Yes, I do mind!! Go get a red basket!!" I was totally taken back with his tone and the his rudeness!! He could have said it MUCH MORE NICELY!!! I went and retrieved a "red basket" dropped the pee pads in it...walked it to the middle of the store and left it there. As I walked out with my daughter, I informed him he lost a good sale, I left the red basket with the pee pads for him to go "fetch!" Disrespect me and you get the same treatment! I will never support Angel View again. PERIOD!! read more

Pretty decent Angel View thrift shop not far from the freeway & near the university's, so you know they'll get good & plenty of donations from the students & not just the usual middle aged clothing (I'm middle aged, nothing wrong with that but I like looking at cute frilly tees too). Yes, you never know what you will find. Often I have complimented someone on a garment they are wearing only to hear "I got it at Angel View". A great place to find those "little" but useful kitchen tools and dishes. I never drop anything off without checking out what's inside. Have some great finds! I love this new location! Always such a good variety of things here! I've gotten purses, hats, books, and much more here. When I came in a couple of days ago my boyfriend purchased a couple of books for $5. The employees are always so nice, and when they are working they look like they are having fun with each other, which personally I think is important when having a job. Love coming here! read more

I always donate my extras to Angel View. They are very pleasant people to deal with and they never refuse the item I take. Not like Goodwill who got too picky and made me keep my items. They always want to give you a receipt I you want. Several times I have had them come to my house to pick up the larger items. They were very careful while moving items out of the house and were very careful not to scratch any walls. I also occasionally shop here. You never know what surprises they have in stock. Everyday they bring in a new inventory of unique items. So fun to dig through and fin new treasures. As the Grinch says," One man's junk is another man's poupori!" read more

Experienced the many stores in Palm Springs area. The staff is friendly and helpful. Lots of new items. Definitely take a second walk as you will find many treasures. The pricing was average for a thrift store about 7.99 average for clothing. While you are shopping they have a table for your treasurers. No negotiation on pricing. No bathrooms due to covid but the dressing rooms are open. I would have given a higher rating if the clothes were sorted by size vs colors. read more

I attempted to donate a bedroom set in very good condition. They don't pick up furniture. I don't have a truck to get it to them. So I found somewhere else to donate the furniture. They were more than happy to pick it up.,Win-win for them and us and a loss for Angel View. read more

For the most part, I realize Angel View provides funding for the disabled and also provides them with jobs. They also need to make enough to pay their employees. But, when they start raising prices on items that are no longer sought after, such as DVDs and CDs, it really leaves a bad impression with many. Some folks still have players and cannot afford the pricey TV subscriptions or theater prices. Why have the prices for these items increased as much as 50%? Having to pay $3.99 and up for a midstream title movie is excessive and most end up in the landfill. Nobody will buy them at that price and proof is watching them sit there for a month then disappear all at once. They get pulled and go to the clearance center where they eventually hit the landfill. And what happened to the color coding 1/2 price sales they used to have? We just can't get a break, can we? read more

Needed cowboy boots for a party and stopped at the Prestige Boutique on Indian Canyon in desperation. It was 5:40 and and the salesperson immediately said, "We're closing soon", I look at my watch and I have 20 minutes, no big deal because I'm only looking for one thing. As I quickly look around, she and the other salesperson basically chased me out of there turning everything off and closing up even though they are supposed to close at 6pm. I read more

I'm a guy. Most guys would rather put needles in their eyes than come to a thrift shop. I'd oblige a lady by walking into a shop for about 20 mins. Then, I'd say exit immediately, or it's becomes a good place to die. Angel View, at this location, is pretty darn good. My Mom found some used furniture at a steal of a price. If you tire, you can walk across the parking lot to 1 of 2 dining establishments, and grab a cold beer. Thumbs up. Notably nice and helpful staff. read more

Given that this store does benefit children I wish I could give it more than a 1 star but frankly I would give it zero stars if it was an option. The store itself is very clean and in a nice location so that has nothing to do with my reasons for my star rating. The simple fact is that this store is way overpriced. I wanted to purchase my husband Artie some Hawaiian shirts for a cruise we were going on. I found a Tommy Bahama shirt that was marked $17.99. Yes Tommy Bahama shirts are expensive in the department stores but 1) this is not a department store and 2) this particular shirt had 3 very visible stains on the front making it not worth ever $2 or $3. I was told that the "better clothing" was priced higher. This was not "better" clothing. There were also Puritan brand shirts (a Walmart label) that were $12.99 each. These same shirts are sold at Walmart BRAND NEW for the same price! I noticed that there was glass counter that had what I was told had collectibles in it. There was some sports memorabilia that was way over priced. I know this because I looked up some of them on my iPad while in the store and found the exact same items in better condition for less than 1/2 the priced mark. I was told that one of the employees does the pricing of the collectibles and he used to manage a collectibles store. I can understand why he USED to manage it. After perusing the other items in the case, including a ratty, scratched and unplayable Beatles album for the low low price of $75 (list price online in excellent shape $25) it was quite obvious that someone has no business pricing these things. Throughout the store again and again there are items way over priced. Condition of sold items doesn't seem to fit in the equation of pricing anything in the store. Its a free for all of high prices. To really demonstrate how expensive this store is I was astonished by how many items had gone through a 4 week cycle on the floor until the color tag they had on them came on sale 1/2 price. These items were still there after such a long time and nobody wanted them even at 50 percent off. That tells you right there that the prices are way out of line. Since the money is going to a good cause and this store does rely on donations I would suggest that they really take a look at their pricing. People, myself included, will be more willing to donate to a charity shop if they know that customers who are expected to buy these items aren't getting gauged. The real sad part in all of this is that it seems that all of the Angel Views in the valley have adopted these ridiculous pricing policies. In the community where I live my neighbors and I decided to pool all of the donations we would have given to Angel View and held a community sale. We then took all of the proceeds (which were fair prices) and donated them to local charities. This trend of overpricing things is ultimately going to end up in the loss of customers which in turn will hurt the very people these charities say they want help. read more

I have moved to the Desert since May, 2017. I've pretty much brought whatever I need and wanted from Angelview. Lamps, rock display, accessories, forks and spoons, candle holders, cooking pans, luggage, CD player, DVD player, scanners, phone case, chair and more. I find their price reasonable and it's also for a good cause. I pretty much recycle what's no longer needed to Angelview as well. Everyone worked there are friendly and helpful. If I'm looking for something or have questions, they are really awesome. I love Angelview, it's a place of wonders and possibilities. Just brought a brand new game today for a toy drive. read more

I went here yesterday and prices are just way to high. I don't understand who at these high priced thrift stores think its shoppers are? Ritchie rich? We buy used because of used prices. And to reduce the waist this county's greed has produced with marketing! Thrift store shoppers do it for the better of the whole of the planet and humanity not because we want someone's trash! Lower prices mean more sales making more money for the charity. And I've seen the back of these Angel views and they are packed! I've lived in the desert for a very long time and I have frequented Angel View. I thought "Wow! This stuff is great and the prices were great". I was so impressed that when our son was out looking for his first job, we advised him to volunteer for Angel View, it will help with experience. So he did. Which in turn made us loyal customers (at a different AV store). So, as time goes by. our son is hired as a regular employee and we basically went to AV maybe once every two weeks and noticed a gradual increase in pricing. We asked our son about it and he said that they had someone new to do the pricing for all AV. He mentioned how they were all increasing in price and he was upset about it. Kind of made us upset too, so we stopped going. A couple of years later, our son was no longer there, when we went in to "look around". OMG! It was if we had gone into a a whole other store. Prices were high. Quality was shot. Employees were not approachable. The whole experience just seemed "Corporate". Not for the benefit of the special needs children. We still donate tons every week but, we no longer shop there. read more

I shop here and have found many lovely things. Some items are too highly priced in my opinion, but most aren't. They have many name brands, lots of Tommy Bahama men's shirts, nice reasonably priced furniture. Lots of golf and sporting clothes. It's well worth stopping in and taking a look. read more

It has become so obvious to me that Angelview is all about profit. I overheard staff saying how much they needed to make sales. I feel sooooo ripped off when I go into an AV and the staff is removing all the clothing with the tags with the colour that is the 50% off that week. I asked one of the staff members why they are doing this and she said it was to clear out old stock. If it's old why are you not leaving it on the floor so it can be cleared out at 1/2 price. All the items are DONATED why are things getting so expensive???? It really makes you wonder just how much they actually donate. I love supporting those in need but it really makes you question who is really benefiting or is a corporation profiting. read more

Angel View's stores in all the locations in the desert have now become more expensive that any of the other thrift stores in the valley. Who is pricing this stuff? I have spoken with so many loyal desert thrift market shoppers who will no longer shop at Angel View. We are all on board for helping out local charities, but now we will have to do so in another way. Many other local people go to Angel View to find affordable clothing for work, dress etc. These prices are not helping those that do not have extra money in their budget to afford clothing....and there are many of these people around the valley. Higher prices are not helping the charity...they are discouraging honest buyers from helping themselves and at the same time supporting the charity with their sales. read more

I'm from out of town. My cousin and I went to this location. My cousin wanted a vest and apparently it was the wrong price. One of the ladies accused her of changing the tag in Spanish thinking we wouldn't understand what she was saying. Someone there messed up on the price and they wouldn't sell it to us and made excuses saying that "someone" changed it the price. Won't go back here again and hopefully they have the right prices but wouldn't recommend it. read more
