I loved my experience at Revela Salon! I went in today for a cut, wash, blow-dry & flat iron and the experience was relaxing from start to finish. My appointment started off with a complimentary neck & shoulder massage which was AMAZING! Totally unexpected and so appreciated by me! They also used a stress-relieving shampoo which I enjoyed! I love the fact that Revela is an Aveda salon. I feel good knowing the products they use are good for your hair and that the stylists are some of the best educated. My hair was done by Sonya, the owner. It should be known how experienced Sonya is. Though Revela Salon is a new salon, Sonya is absolutely not new to the hair industry! In fact, she's been in the industry for 15 years! Sonya is also an Aveda educator -- I feel lucky to have someone like her cutting my hair! Revela Salon is now my go-to salon! Decided to check this place out on a friend's recommendation and I'm glad I did! It's a beautiful new salon that's pretty easy to get to from the red line. They started by offering me fresh brewed tea, followed by a massage at the outset of my haircut. Definitely recommend the hand massage during the hair washing - makes for a doubly-relaxing experience! As for my haircut, the owner, Sonya, did a great job - gave me exactly what I wanted! I keep running my hands through my hair, I just love the feel of the cut! I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a cut and/or color. (Don't believe they have other services just yet, though she said they'll be adding things on in time.) read more

Love this place! Kyle is amazing :) I went platinum blonde for the first time in March. He did a phenomenal job, especially since my natural color is black. Their products were very gentle because my hair looked and felt great, despite going very close to white. I loved how it turned out and have been coming to Kyle ever since. This review is for Aynsley. She is amazing! We found her because my SO and I had to get last minute haircuts, and she was kind enough to stay longer to squeeze us into her schedule. And we are so glad she did because the haircuts we got were awesome! I've since been back and my SO will be back as well to get another haircut. She really took the time to listen to what I wanted out of the haircut, and then made some helpful suggestions on what would work with my hair. For example, she recommended changing which side I part my hair on, which seems like a small thing, but it made a huge change! No more having to fight with cowlicks and unruly hair! She also did a wonderful job with the haircut itself, and both times she's cut my hair I've been seriously impressed. read more

I've never written a review before but the disaster I had at Revela has made me want to warn anyone thinking of going here for a colour or cut. I went to get my roots lightened. I have been ash blonde for 8 months and my roots were about an inch long. I came out with different coloured hair (ORANGE all over), and my roots a mix of yellow, orange or white. Completely botched job. I'm completely devastated and have just had to cut all my hair off and start again. Neither of the stylists knew how to use toner and they don't have swatches you can choose from. I don't think they have much experience colouring hair. I also got a cut here the month before and the back was one inch shorter than the front (I had to stop Sonja half way as she was cutting it way shorter than I asked, so then I left with a totally unbalanced cut). They also sold me the wrong toning shampoo which turned my blonde hair BLUE for a week. They are also completely overpriced. I paid $300 for the above root job (I was too humiliated to walk out or ask they fix it at the time, something I'm kicking myself for now). You can get a single process colour done in the city for $90!! read more

I loved my hair and the hair of my bridal party! Aynsley was easy to work with, professional, and she achieved the look I was hoping for. Unfortunately, I have to update my review for Revela. The gem of a hairstylist, Aynsley, has left the salon and I've had such a terrible experience with the rest of the people that work there that I have to change my rating. I had hired them for hair and makeup for my wedding and the way I was treated leading up to my wedding was ridiculous. When Aynsley left the week before my wedding, they called to let me know and not once did they apologize for how this could possibly be inconveniencing me... the WEEK before my wedding. Since I had booked them so that I could work with Aynsley, I was devastated, and there was no remorse on their end. When I said I would likely need to cancel everything since I had zero experience working with other stylists at Revela besides talking to them, they literally said "great, thanks" and hung up the phone on me. Do yourself a favor and find another place to get your hair cut. read more

I don't recommend this place unless you like really short asymmetrical haircuts. I asked that my hair be cut to just brush my shoulders. It was cut at least an inch shorter than what I asked for; it just reaches my chin and is even shorter in the back. If I leave it curly, it will only reach the base of my skull but when I straighten it, I struggle to feed my now extremely short hair through my straightener. I want to go back to my previous salon to have the weird disparity between the front and back fixed, but it's so short that I'm afraid of having more cut off. I know it's just hair and it grows back, but I feel awful. Hopefully, I will have another inch of hair to work with in 6 months. I am never coming back here. read more

What an absolutely FANTASTIC experience! I'm very particular about getting my hair cut, but after reading so many good reviews and seeing the success a co-worker had with Sonya, I decided to try it out. Making the appointment was so easy and convenient, and everyone in the salon was so nice! I have extremely long and thick hair and wanted several layers put in to lighten it up and make it more fun. Sonya took the time to listen to what I was envisioning and make suggestions/comments not only in the beginning, but also throughout the cut to make sure what she was doing was what I wanted. My only regret is that I didn't come here sooner! The people, products, and results all deserve more than 5 stars! read more
