I have been going to Evie for over a year now, and I see Ryan for cuts, and Abby for color. Both of these ladies are awesome. Evie is always accommodating when I'm trying to squeeze in for my "last minute" appointments, because for some reason, I notice out of the blue how ratty my hair looks after leaving way too long in between my appointments. (On my last visit, I did the reasonable thing and scheduled my next appointment before I left, but I think all this virus stuff is going to push that out). Abby is able to create magic with my finicky blonde color, and she is always vibrant... full of fun energy, and has great style. I trust her implicitly to help me make the right decisions for my hair! The salon is also only 2 blocks from my house, so getting there could not be more convenient. read more

I had a great balayage done by Sandra. There was no itemized bill or receipt--I was told everything was included even though originally I'd been told a blow dry was $58 extra. Please note that there is parking at this salon! It would be helpful if they told people this ahead of time, as I assumed the lot was for their workers. Please expect 4 hours for a first time balayage or if you haven't had this treatment for a long time. The estimate I was given when I called was at least 2 hours, so I figured I'd share this. Lastly, I would caution against shaming your customers about how they treat their hair, how often they get treatments done, and what kind of treatments they choose to get. Sandra criticized each of these choices of mine repeatedly throughout the process. I also got criticized for not bringing in a professional headshot of the kind of hair I wanted. I had photos of my hair after the last time I'd gotten it done, taken on an iphone. Sandra took photos of my hair when she was finished, and I guess that's what stylists should do in general...but if they don't, and your customer only has their own phone/lighting to work with, please don't blame them for it. Again, the color and styling came out really well. I just think if you want people to come back and get more treatments, the best thing to do is give them a great service and let them decide for themselves. I would totally get this hair do again, if I could avoid the criticism this time. read more

Abby is amazing!! I tried multiple different salons ever since moving to the area, and even though there weren't any disasters, nobody ever got my hair quite right. She's always advised me on what she thinks I should do to my hair and she has been honest, because she wants me to be satisfied. At first, I was happy because the salon had a woman specializing in curly hair. She was a real deal, but that was over 4 years go and I only had one session with her. Ever since, every time I ask for a curly hair specialist I am given a different person each time who "loves working with curly hair", but they sure don't know how to properly do it. Instead of just honestly saying that they can't offer such a specialist the salon kept taking my money and delivering less than mediocre cuts. It's not easy sometimes to tell them in the face what you think of the job because they are so nice to you. But, man, please be realistic about your capabilities. It's not a cheap cut. A modern, hip salon- you will find that most of the stylists there rock do's that you always wish you could pull off. That's the first good sign of a good salon. I have had very traumatic experiences with my hair- color disasters and chops that were not as I requested. My most recent disaster left my thick wavy hair at shoulders length- a straight across cut. It was impossible to wear straight or wavy. I came to Evie's salon and had Sandra as a stylist. She listened to what I didn't want and helped me with a vision of growing my hair back out to a style I wanted.
